P.A.Z. - Incantagioni Audio-Essay
P.A.Z. - Incantagioni Audio-Essay
Registrazione presso Accademia Recording Studio (Verona). ### Cosa è P.A.Z. Podcast Ascolti Zurigo? #### *English Version* Each month, we gather to discuss a podcast we've listened to, sharing thoughts, opinions, and recommendations for future listens. This month we are listening to Incantagioni Audio-Essay, an independent podcast created by K-assandra, produced by Mariano Tomatis, and distributed by NERO. Listen to it now on **[Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/show/0DZ23Q93SzHrjOXLOzbo2G?si=b61e502fa224451a)**. ### *Incantagioni Audio-Essay* **From Podcast notes** A young anthropologist comes across a book written by a magician: Incantagioni. Stories of Seers, Sibyls, Somnambulists, and Other Phantasmagorical Liberations (NERO, 2022) tells the story of six women who, between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, used magic as a means of emancipation from patriarchal oppression. Using the book’s pages as a map, the researcher embarks on an investigation that leads her far beyond the book’s original trajectories, with the aim of exploring the forms and influences of magic in contemporary European society. Incantagioni Audio-Essay is an independent podcast created by K-assandra, produced by Mariano Tomatis, and distributed by NERO. The music is by Kalisia and Lp_saad. Graphic design by Lucrezia Gentili. Recorded at Accademia Recording Studio (Verona). ### What's P.A.Z.? The best way to discover a podcast is through word of mouth, usually traveling through social media. P.A.Z., an acronym for Podcast Ascolti Zurigo, was born to uncover new things to listen to and the chance to discuss them with others in person. Like a book club, but for podcasts. #### Is there an entry fee? The event is free (it would be nice to know how many of us are coming, so if you can, RSVP for free here). Everyone is free to order something at the bar at their own expense. #### Do I need to have listened to the entire podcast? No, you can come even if you haven't heard the entire podcast (but it's better if you have). #### Is the podcast to listen to always in Italian? Yes, currently, P.A.Z. aims to focus on Italian-language podcasts, and anyone who speaks Italian is welcome. #### I like it but I can't be there, what can I do? Feel free to contact me via the email you find on Eventbrite, and I will be able to keep you updated on upcoming events.

Open-mic StorySLAM 🎙 WHAT I DIDN'T SAY
Open-mic StorySLAM 🎙 WHAT I DIDN'T SAY
### THE SILENCE LOUDER THAN WORDS They say February is the month of love, but the most profound love stories are often lived in the silent, sacred space of the unspoken. For this month’s theme: WHAT I DIDN’T SAY, we invite you to explore the gap between what you wanted to say and what stayed trapped in your chest. We've all been there: The moment the door closed, the train pulled away, or the phone clicked off, and you realized you left the most important part unsaid. Or when you were stunned silent by serendipitous good fortune or a stranger’s act of kindness that left you speechless. *“Hello darkness, my old friend...* \> *Because a vision softly creeping, left its seeds while I was sleeping* \> *And the vision that was planted in my brain, still remains* \> *Within the sound of silence.”* — **Simon & Garfunkel** ### PROMPTS TO SPARK THE FIRE: * **Buried Confession:** An illicit romance or secret crush where you played it cool, while your heart was staging a riot. * **The Letter Never Sent:** A tale of sacrifice or a moment of "insane desire" that you keep/kept tucked away in a drawer—or haunting your mind. * **The Master of Silence:** When "**What I Didn't Say**" was a masterful act of protection (or a questionable decision) for someone you loved. "*The right word may be effective, but no word was ever as effective as a rightly timed pause*." — **Mark Twain** ### WILL YOU SPEAK YOUR TRUTH? 1. Come to listen to true stories told live - or share one of yours. Whether it’s about a missed connection at the HB or a realization that came years too late, our community wants to hear yours. * **Here’s the drill:** 1. Qualify for our main stage spotlight by purchasing 1 of 10 “**I want to tell a story**” tickets on [EventFrog](https://eventfrog.ch/en/p/theatre-stage/stage-event/storyslam-what-i-didn-t-say-7425197618085511699.html) — or drop your name in the StorySLAM hat when doors open at 19:00. Names drawn until we run out of time. 2. The Craft: Prepare a 5-minute true story (no notes, just heart). 3. The Glory: The audience votes for their favorite story, with the winner heading toward our annual GrandSLAM! **📅 Thur. Feb. 26th, 2026** **⌚ 19:00 doors open \| 19:30 show begins** **📍 [jenseits](https://jenseitsimviadukt.ch/) Im Viadukt, 8005 Zurich** **🎟️ TICKETS: on [EVENTFROG](https://eventfrog.ch/de/p/theater-buehne/buehnenveranstaltung/storyslam-what-i-didn-t-say-7425197618085511699.html) or at the door\*** \* All tickets include a voucher for a free drink

Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you knew Del Close on a personal level, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games! The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Not only is it a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and make friendships that'll last a lifetime! Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "Yes, And" that you'll have fun!
Contra dance with Big Scioty on March 7 - First Congregational Church
Contra dance with Big Scioty on March 7 - First Congregational Church
**Caller: Frank Buschelmann** **Band: The Rosenthorns** **Big Scioty Contra Dance** **temporarily returning to our long ago location for Jan-March - First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St., Columbus 43215** WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner. Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot. For more information contact me or check out our website: [www.bigscioty.com](http://www.bigscioty.com/) Please bring your own refillable water bottle. Snacks to share are always welcome!

Speak Easy (Storytelling)
Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for March is "Our Bodies, Ourselves" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!
