In-Person Buddhist Meditation and Psychology Group
This group is for anyone who wants to explore Buddhist meditation in a relaxed and supportive setting. Each session includes a short meditation, a simple teaching from Buddhist psychology, and an open discussion about how these ideas show up in everyday life. While our foundation is Buddhist practice, we love weaving in wisdom from other traditions whenever it helps us grow, find peace, and support each other. Members of our community come from many different backgrounds, and you do not need to consider yourself a Buddhist to attend. All are welcome.
The session runs from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., with doors open from 6:30 to 9:00. Come early or stay after if you’d like to enjoy some quiet reflection or casual conversation with the community.
On the first Wednesday of each month, we share a potluck meal. Bring a dish if you’d like, but the most important thing you can bring is yourself. We look forward to seeing you!
Reston Plays Games
Come out to the Reston Community Center and play some games! Party games? Strategy games? Tabletop role-playing games? This massive space can accommodate games for every interest. While the event starts at 5pm, feel free to roll in whenever you are able! If you have games to bring that you'd like to share or run, please do!
Food and drink are not provided within the venue, but you are allowed to bring in anything you need from outside locations, just please be considerate of other people's games and the tables when doing so.
Park anywhere in the parking lot. The Community Center building is located directly behind Ledo Pizza. Walk straight back to the main room once you enter the building.
If you have questions, feel free to reach out to either David Gray or Bill Parker through Meetup, or you can email Bill at william.parker@fairfaxcounty.gov.
Hope to see you all there!
In Person Job Search Workday and Open Discussion
Please join Robert Brandau, our Founding Director, for coffee, conversation, job search assistance and just the ability to get out of the house and be with others as we look for **QUALITY** Employment.
Bring your laptop, (if you need a new one, please let [Career-Confidence.org](http://career-confidence.org/) know.) there will be plenty of time for us to work seperately.
Occassionally we have "on the spot" interviews with others at Fairfax Coffee.
Often times some of us will go out to lunch or a simple dinner afterwards.
Overcoming Average - NoVa Chapter
This group was originally started by Chad Keith who created and hosts a podcast by the same name in Charlotte, NC. I am hoping to continue his legacy here in NoVa as I recently moved to this area. This group is all about finding community around self-improvement and exchanging ideas on how to be your best self and get the most out of life. This group is for anyone who is interested in overcoming average in all areas - career, ambitions, relationships, hobbies, health, everything.
I am so excited to meet driven individuals in the NoVa area so please reach out if you have any questions at all. EVERYONE is welcome so please sign up for an upcoming meetup!

Whether this is your first time or you’ve joined before, you are warmly welcome.
This is not a casual social meetup.
It is a thoughtfully held space where you don’t have to perform, fix or hold everything together.
***
**What to expect:**
This is a guided, small-group experience that may include:
• grounding and gentle breathwork
• simple nervous system support practices
• facilitated group conversation
• time for reflection and integration
✨ We intentionally keep this gathering small (up to 12 women) to preserve the intimacy and quality of the experience.
***
Women often leave feeling:
• more grounded
• more connected
• more supported
• and more themselves
Each month offers a unique theme, while holding a consistent intention: to create a space where you can arrive as you are, exhale, and feel supported.

ASL Sunday Silent Social at Fairfax's Wegmans
Whether you're Deaf, HoH, an interpreter, an ASL student, or just want to learn or practice American Sign Language (ASL), we welcome all levels of signers to come join us for an evening of ASL socializing and practice.
This event occurs on the first and third Sundays of every month, in the heart of Fairfax County at the Fairfax Wegman's (corner of Route 29 and Monument Drive). We can be found on the upper level, typically near the stairs. We generally start around 7 pm.
ASL beginners are welcome, but you should know the ASL alphabet and some basic signs - this is not an ASL class, but the more experienced signers are generally happy to help beginners learn and improve. There is no better way to develop your signing skills than by joining the conversation with other signers. There is a place for everyone to join, learn and practice. Regardless, we are always welcoming so don’t be discouraged to attend; this is very informal and new folks are always welcome.
Note, some attendees arrive early and grab some of Wegman’s food for dinner, so you can combine a shopping trip with the ASL practice.
LQBTQ+ Dinner: Kook Dog
**Ready for a night of bold flavors and good company? 🌭🍕**
Skip the kitchen and join your DTs family and friends for a fun-filled dinner at **[Kook Dogg Cafe!](https://www.kookdoggcafe.com/)** After our Thursday night Happy Hour, let’s head over for some delicious **artisan pizzas, mouthwatering sandwiches, and unique eats** at **12100 Sunset Hills Rd R-6, Reston, VA 20190**. Whether you're craving a crispy flatbread, a loaded sandwich, or something totally unexpected, Kook Dogg has something for everyone!
Please **RSVP on our Facebook and Meetup pages** so we can give the restaurant a heads-up on how many hungry DTs to expect! We usually have a group of **12-20**, but the more, the merrier! Walk-ins are welcome, but reserving your spot helps us plan better.
We’re always switching up the dinner spots for variety, so keep an eye out for **next week’s location**—because every **Thursday brings something new to the table! 🍽️**
Online Get Together
Hey everyone! We had some requests from a few people to try an online event for busy schedules. It's a great way to meet EVERYONE in the group rather than trying to coordinate schedules in smaller groups. Invite your friends, even if they're not in the area.
Bring your wonderful faces, and let's have some laughs!
