Board Game Night @ Board Room in Clarendon, Wed, 6:30-10:00
Board Game Night @ Board Room in Clarendon, Wed, 6:30-10:00
**NEW GAME LOCATION at The Board Room** Let's play board games. Not the ones your ancestors played but the really cool ones of the new millennium. We play everything from fun, social games to light to heavy strategy games. Don't know how to play? Not a problem - we're happy to teach. It's a great chance to learn new games or play your favorites with non-competitive people who like to laugh. You can build a railroad, eradicate a plague, or explore the far reaches of the galaxy in one evening. While many will bring their own games, you can show up gameless and still play. We play at the Board Room in Clarendon on Wednesday from 6:30-10:00. It's within walking distance from the Clarendon metro. **Find us in the far left by the fermentation tanks.** If that area is reserved for a private event, look for us in the middle. Look for a group that has containers and carrying bags with multiple games. We're very fortunate to have this great venue for our game nights and they take care of us for 3-1/2 hours, so please spend a minimum of $10 on food or drink and tip generously (at the very least $2, even if 20% of your bill would be $1). Thanks!

Turkey Run: A Challenging-Moderate 4 or 6.3 Mile Hike with Rock Scrambles
Turkey Run: A Challenging-Moderate 4 or 6.3 Mile Hike with Rock Scrambles
**Turkey Run: A Challenging-Moderate 4 or 6.3 Mile Hike with Rock Scrambles** SEE IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON REGISTRATION UNDER "NOTES." This is a great hike to step up your hiking to a more challenging level due to the terrain. There are two loops in this hike: one for 4 miles and a second for 2.3 miles. Work on building your hiking strength while challenging yourself to a rock scramble. This hike would be rated a moderate hike other than the rock scramble over a stream and other stream crossings using ropes, which earns it a “challenging moderate”. Please be aware, that the stream crossings and scrambles are challenging, and that good footwear is a must. Turkey Run Park has a number of wooded and riverside trails. Turkey Run Park preserves a vertical slice of the Potomac Gorge ecosystem. A unique combination of flora and fauna makes a home in the park's riverbanks, flood terraces, upland forest, streams, and underground seeps. There is also a variety of fauna that lives along and in the river. You may see cormorants and a variety of water birds. Trails in Turkey Run Park cross through several of the distinct habitats that make up the Potomac Gorge ecosystem. The Potomac Heritage Trail (http://www.nps.gov/pohe/planyourvisit/index.htm) also runs through the park. Along our route is a fun rock scramble and six stream crossings that you cross using rocks, and of course, a helping hand is always offered. The extra 2.3 miles is challenging in its own way. While we hike mostly along the river and its beautiful views, we will need to navigate several downed trees including one that is quite a challenge. The 4 mile hike should end around noon and the second around 1:30 PM. A leashed, well-trained Fido is allowed on this hike. Bring a lunch to enjoy between the two hikes. **Time to Meet**: Please meet at 9:45 for introductions and sign in. We will start hiking promptly at 10:00 **Contact Information**: Please use the comments feature for routine comments and questions. The hike Leaders are Christa (410-610-6254) and Tim (202-744-0289). Call or text as needed. **Directions to Trailhead**: It is best to use the GPS coordinates. They will take you directly to the parking lot. The GPS Coordinates are [38.964346, -77.153034](https://www.google.com/search?q=38.964346%2C+-77.153034&rlz=1C1ONGR_enUS1207US1207&oq=38.964346%2C+-77.153034&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOdIBCTM0NTRqMGoxNagCCLACAfEF4ILw8-9EEOc&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8) Turkey Run Park in Virginia is located along the George Washington Memorial Parkway in McLean, VA 22101. It is accessed via the GW Parkway (Exit 43). We will meet in the main parking, C-1 lot near the parkway exit when coming from the North; when coming from the South the exit is almost immediately. **Rating**: Challenging-Moderate **Distance**: 6 miles total (Loop 1: 4 miles and Loop 2: 2.3 miles) **Elevation Gain**: Approximately 500 feet **Pace**: 2.0 to 2.5 miles per hour **Facilities**: There are no restrooms near the trailhead. **Fees**: no fees **Cancellation**: In the unlikely event that the hike needs to be cancelled, it may be cancelled up to the evening before the hike. **Neurodivergent Connections Bethesda: Board Game Meetup (Small Group Launch Event)** Join us for a relaxed and welcoming small group board game meetup. Whether you love board games or just want a comfortable way to meet people locally, you’re very welcome here. 🕐 Time: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM (feel free to leave earlier, that's just when we have the room until.) 👥 Group size: 8 people Because our meeting space is cozy, this initial gathering is intentionally capped at a small group size. As the community grows, we plan to host additional events with larger attendance limits in the future. Since spots are limited, please RSVP only if you are fairly sure you can attend. If your plans change, updating your RSVP helps make space for someone else who would like to join. Thank you for helping to keep the group accessible and considerate for everyone. Looking forward to meeting you and starting something special together!

Arkham Horror Third Edition is a cooperative board game for one to six players who take on the roles of investigators trying to rid the world of eldritch beings known as Ancient Ones. Based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft, players will have to gather clues, defeat terrifying monsters, and find tools and allies if they are to stand any chance of defeating the creatures that dwell just beyond the veil of our reality.

Whether you're a seasoned gamer, an aspiring developer, or just curious about the indie scene, this is your chance to connect, play, and celebrate DC’s gaming community. **PARKING INFO**: Parking around this area is expensive ($15-20) and a bit annoying. However the library is right outside Gallery Place metro station. I would highly recommend taking the metro, or driving to a metro station, parking there, and then take the metro in. Sunday funday: let's play dodgeball at Scioto Audubon park
Dodgeball is back again! If you’ve been wanting to come out, this is an easy one to join. We’ll be playing for about 1.5 to 2 hours, you do not need to bring any equipment, and no experience is needed. We use a specific set of rules and equipment to make the games run better and keep them fun for everybody, not just people who already know how to play. If it rains, the event will be canceled.
Board games at The Forge
Board games at The Forge
The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~$20 per person. Soft drink refills are $1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group! The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play. Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes. We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind. Thank you for your continued commitment to providing a fun and welcoming space to veteran, newbie, and rookie gamers in the Columbus area. Parking can be challenging. There is a parking lot behind the neighboring Mexican restaurant that is free and easy to walk from but it's a bit hidden.
