Friday Night Kirtan: Soulful Musical Meditation
Overview
Get ready to immerse yourself in a spiritual journey through music and meditation at the Friday Night Kirtan event!
Join us every Friday at **ISKCON Dublin** for an evening thatโs more than just a concertโitโs a sanctuary. Located right in the heart of the city, at the top of the stairs on Abbey Street, our Friday Kirtan is a space for everyone to unplug, find inner peace, and experience ancient wisdom through sound.
#### **What is Kirtan?**
Kirtan is a traditional form of "call-and-response" musical meditation. One person sings a simple, ancient Sanskrit mantra, and the group sings it back. Itโs effortless, deeply relaxing, and you donโt need to be a "singer" to participate. The music builds from a gentle, meditative whisper to a joyful, rhythmic celebration that naturally clears the mind.
#### **Why Join Us?**
* **De-stress:** Let the vibrations of the harmonium and drums wash away the week's tension.
* **Community:** Meet like-minded people in a warm, non-judgmental environment.
* **The Sanctuary:** Discover a quiet, hidden space in the city centre dedicated to peace and self-discovery.
#### **The Evening Flow**
* **6:00 PM โ 7:00 PM:**[ Open Bhagavad Gita Wisdom Circle](https://www.meetup.com/harekrishnaireland/events/313884389/?fromSeries=true&slug=harekrishnaireland&eventId=313884389) (Optional - feel free to join early!)
* **7:00 PM โ 8:30 PM:** The Main Kirtan Experience
* **8:30 PM onwards:** Evening concludes/Community connection time.
Ciorcal Comhrรก sa chlub, beginners welcome!
Dear fellow Gaeilgeoiri,
Cead mile failte / a warm welcome to this group of Irish language lovers and enthusiasts. Hope you will enjoy everything it has to offer and feel free to suggest new events, and, why not step in as an event organizer?
What this group is not:
- A group limited to those with perfect proficiency in the language, where any single word of English is banned, and where you will get corrected for every sรฉimhiรบ that, God forbid, you might be forgetting
What this group is:
- A forum of Gaeilge enthusiasts willing to share their interest and love of the language. We all started learning a language, including our own, from scratch at some point in our lives. Absolute beginners are welcome and should not feel intimidated. Near perfect and native Irish speakers are also welcome to share their vast knowledge of the language. Hopefully this will create a thriving community of lovers of the language at any level.

Figure Painting in Oils // A 3 Day Workshop with Artist Nicholas Robinson
## Figure Painting in Oils // A 3 Day Workshop with Artist Nicholas Robinson // Friday July 3 - Sunday July 5
**BOOK HERE - https://www.tickettailor.com/events/skillsets/2179557**
Painting the figure has always been a staple exercise in learning the craft of oil painting, and this 3 day workshop covers the core skills required. This class is ideal for those looking to start their exploration into the art of Figure Painting, or for the more experienced artist who wants to improve their fundamentals. Nick Robinson (Florence Academy prize winner 2012 & 2013, Zurich Portrait Prize Finalist 2019 & 2021) will instruct in the visual method: translating what we observe from life into oil painting on the canvas.
We will explore the materials involved, some theory and preparation for the model. The rest of the session will be comprised of working from the nude in one single-pose painting over the 3 days. By the completion of the course participants will have a clear understanding of the techniques and steps involved in painting the figure, as well as increased levels of observational skill. No prior experience is necessary, only a strong interest in painting from life.
**Course Fee: โฌ350**
\* Some materials will be provided, though a small materials list will be sent to each participant.
***Your Tutor:***
Nicholas is a Florence Academy of Art prize winner and graduate.
Nicholas finished his post-graduate studies at Irelandโs National College of Art & Design (NCAD) in 2009, having previously graduated from the Crawford College of Art & Design, Cork. He was introduced to the American ateliers in Florence, in which students study exclusively from life, by the Irish painter Gearoid Hayes.
Subsequently Nicholas quit his teaching career and attended the Florence Academy of Art, Sweden under the tutelage of the Swedish painter Joakim Ericsson. Nicholas received a pair of drawing awards during his time at the school in Sweden and returned to Ireland in 2013. He is now exhibiting nationally, and works and teaches out of in his studio in Wicklow.

Closing Sound Bath โ The session concludes with an immersive sound bath, where a combination of instrumentsโsuch as Tibetan bowls, chimes, gongs, drums ...โcreate a soothing soundscape, allowing your mind and body to fully integrate the healing experience.

America 250th Picnic!
***July is National Picnic Month*** (along with National Hot Dog/Baked Beans/Ice Cream Month)! So let's do it up by joining a giant PICNIC celebrating America's 250th Birthday!
Join us at Wyandotte Winery for an **America 250โOhio Homecoming Picnic as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States in true Ohio style!** Throughout July 2026, communities across Ohio are gathering for food, fun, and friendship to honor our nationโs history and reflect on the contributions of Ohioans over the past 250 years.
Our picnic will feature a relaxed atmosphere with food, live music (starts at 5pm), and opportunities to connect with friends.

***FREE EVENT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC***: Food and beverages will be available for purchase from the shop and food trucks.
***PARKING***: limited near the wine shop. Most park one block away in the church parking lot.

Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for July is "Shoes"
Speak Easy: true stories, told live.
The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!
