D.A.D.S. Workout
D.A.D.S. Workout
If you’re a dad over 35, you probably feel it: * Your energy isn’t what it used to be. * Work stress drains you before you even get home. * The weight has crept on around the middle. * Your kids still have endless energy, but keeping up with them feels harder every year. And deep down, you know your family looks to you as the example. If you’re running on empty, short on patience, and out of shape, that’s the standard you set at home. The **D.A.D.S. Program (Dads Achieving Discipline & Strength)** was built for men like you. Ordinary guys with jobs, families, and full schedules who want to: * **Reclaim strength** so you feel capable, athletic, and confident again. * **Boost energy** so you’re sharp at work and fully present with your family. * **Drop the aches, stiffness, and sluggishness** that make you feel older than you are. * **Find balance and accountability** by training alongside other dads in the same fight. * **Crush male loneliness** by connecting with men who “get it” and have your back. Here’s the best part: You don’t need to be a seasoned gym rat. This is designed for **beginner to intermediate exercisers**—dads who may have been out of the gym for years or have never had a structured program, but know it’s time to get serious. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, we’re hosting **Meet-Up Workouts from 6:00–6:45 AM.** No strings attached. Just one powerful hour that could be the turning point in your health, energy, and family life. There are only **8 spots available**, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. It has been my greatest pleasure to know God and be guided to create the Network of Light in 1979. And I have loved all my moments with you. At 87 years young, it is extremely hard for me to consider leaving you to go to a community living situation. That is why it has been almost impossible to get this Valentine's Day invitation out to you. The Network of Light is coming up on our 47th Anniversary!!! And yes indeed, we are once again celebrating Valentine's Day. Please do join us Saturday, February 14th. A Very Special Thanks to Tracy Trisko - Board member and my right hand for 26 years Bruce McBarnette - Light Giver and Coordinator of Sukyo Mahikari Padma Foye- Food and Kitchen Queen Phil Jones - Our Master Fire Builder and Board member I so very much appreciate everyone who has stepped forward as part of the Network of Light team and helped over all these years. With Love, Light, and Good Will to each of you! Lakshmi 5:00 pm - Time to Meet and Greet New and Old Friends 5:30 pm - Meditation and Heart to Heart Sharing led by Lakshmi Let's share Heart-to-Heart what is deeply true in us. Let's love each other more and more. 7:00 pm - Shared Food Dinner Please bring your favorite dinner dish to serve 8 guests 8:00 pm - Dancing and heart-filled/body moving music John Wubbenhorst (flutes, keyboards) and Tom Teasley (percussion) will celebrate the Network of Light with love and joy. Tom and John are truly world musicians having participated in many traditions east and west. Tom has toured the Mideast with the US State Department. John has spent many years in India studying with many masters, including the bansuri mater Hariprasad Chaurasia. Tom and John often improvise and play a unique ecletic brand of music that is captivating and healing. Because both Tom and John both have a world music vocabulary, their mustic canoot be defined, except for the pure joy please experience when they play. Come dance and listen to these world class musicians. "I am always thankful to music for leading deep into the heart and many spiritual adventures. When I release a record or record some music, I want it to reflect the ecstatic state of being I've felt with my music and spiritual masters. If that feeling is not there, then all the technique and musical sophistication mean nothing. And if that magic is there, even the playing of a few notes can say so much. This journey is not over!" John Wubbenhorst Tom Teasley is not just a percussionist - he's a one-man global orchestra. Renowned for his innovative approach to rhythm and sound, Tom fuses jazz, world music and contemporary influences into electrifying performances that defy borders. His music is a living conversation between ancient traditions and cutting-edge improvisation, captivating audiences with a sound that is as adventurous as it is deeply rooted. Bad Girls Book Club February 2026
Bad Girls Book Club February 2026
**Our February novel is: Julia by Sandra Newman** **This month is a classic, dystopian, fiction, literary fiction, women’s fiction, and science fiction novel. The book is 394 pages in print and 14 hours and 20 minutes on audiobook.** **An imaginative, feminist, and brilliantly relevant-to-today retelling of Orwell’s 1984, from the point of view of Winston Smith’s lover, Julia, by critically acclaimed novelist Sandra Newman.** Julia Worthing is a mechanic, working in the Fiction Department at the Ministry of Truth. It’s 1984, and Britain (now called Airstrip One) has long been absorbed into the larger trans-Atlantic nation of Oceania. Oceania has been at war for as long as anyone can remember, and is ruled by an ultra-totalitarian Party, whose leader is a quasi-mythical figure called Big Brother. In short, everything about this world is as it is in Orwell’s 1984. All her life, Julia has known only Oceania, and, until she meets Winston Smith, she has never imagined anything else. She is an ideal citizen: cheerfully cynical, always ready with a bribe, piously repeating every political slogan while believing in nothing. She routinely breaks the rules, but also collaborates with the regime when necessary. Everyone likes Julia. Then one day she finds herself walking toward Winston Smith in a corridor and impulsively slips him a note, setting in motion the devastating, unforgettable events of the classic story. Julia takes us on a surprising journey through Orwell’s now-iconic dystopia, with twists that reveal unexpected sides not only to Julia, but to other familiar figures in the 1984 universe. This unique perspective lays bare our own world in haunting and provocative ways, just as the original did almost seventy-five years ago.
