Dublin Canal Cleanup (Meet new people & get outdoors)
Dublin Canal Cleanup (Meet new people & get outdoors)
Kick off the New Year by doing something positive and meeting new people. This is a voluntary cleanup organized by Alternative Dublin. We do this event every year! We are looking for volunteers to come help us clean up the canal Sunday at 11am. Meet new people and do something different on your Sunday morning. We are expecting 20-30 people and plan to have this as a social event and volunteering. We will be meeting at Portobello Canal at 11am and heading in both directions. The meeting point is outside Atlas Language School. If your planning to come please register for a ticket so we can prep supplies. **[Register to help here](https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/canal-cleanup-dry-january-tickets-1978397790047?aff=oddtdtcreator)** If you want to help us please register for a free ticket, this free ticket will allow us to email you and send any updates. Tickets in our bio on our profile. The idea of this meetup isn't just to clean the area after one session, it's to raise awareness about leaving your waste behind. How it affects others, it's to start a conversation about how the amount of waste increases everywhere as people stop caring during festive (and sunny) periods. We believe if people see others giving up their time to clean up - they are less likely to do it. Our message is clear 'don't be that person' TIME: 11am-1.30pm LOCATION: Portobello (front of Atlas language school) NEEDED: If you have spare black bags, gloves, sweeper & scoop please bring them. (we will buy some so don't worry) If any local business in the area sees this and wants to get involved with water or event some food please get in touch.

Solopreneurs Drinking Coffee — First Event
Solopreneurs Drinking Coffee — First Event
First attempt at this. If it's good, we'll do it again. If it sucks, we tried. (Event photo is from a recent trip to Flagstaff. Stock photos of fake people drinking coffee are the worst.) **Why I'm doing this:** You're the average of the people you spend the most time with. Running a business solo means I've been spending most of my time with myself. And AI tools, which are great for thinking through business problems, but terrible for actual human connection. I want to raise that average. Looking for people who want real conversations. Not networking, not pitches, just the kind of talk that makes you think differently about what you're building and why. If we all end up making a few friends along the way, even better. **What to expect:** Coffee. Conversation. No pitches, no elevator speeches, no going around the table introducing ourselves like it's a corporate icebreaker. Just show up and talk like a normal human. **Ground rules:** * No pitching your business * No recruiting * No MLM talk * No hustle porn **RSVP cap:** 6 people max so it doesn't turn into a crowd. **Location:** Transcend Coffee & Roastery in Grove City **Time:** Friday, January 16th at 11 AM. See you there!

If you have native seeds to share, please label them with the Latin name and common name. Inniswood Metro Gardens 940 S. Hempstead Rd. Westerville, OH 43081 Phone (614)895-6216 This event will be held in the Greenhouse/Multipurpose Building located near the east end of the parking lot. Click here to see the Inniswood map. If you have native seeds to share, label each species with this information: * Botanical Name * Common Name Species we will accept: * Species native to our ecoregion (8.2.4) - Best * Species native to Ohio and surrounding states - Good * Straight species only - no cultivars. The seeds don’t need to be removed from the seed head if you aren’t sure how to do it, but don’t leave much stem on the seed heads. Please email the list of species to Mary May so we can prepare information for attendees. You can bring the seeds on the day of the swap, or we can arrange to have them picked up beforehand - just let her know in the email. If you don’t have any seeds to bring, no worries. If you are new to native plants or didn't have time to collect seeds, there are ALWAYS plenty from those that do bring them! We love to see "newbies" at our seed exchange!
