👉 **RSVP now!** Die Plätze sind begrenzt, also melde dich bitte an. Wie immer freuen wir uns sehr auf dich!

English Stand Up Comedy Show "Monday Night Laughs" @The.Comedy.Pub
English Stand Up Comedy Show "Monday Night Laughs" @The.Comedy.Pub
## [BOOK HERE!!!](https://www.universe.com/events/english-stand-up-comedy-show-monday-night-laughs-the-comedy-pub-tickets-0NML7Q?ref=MeetUp) Monday Night Laughs: Vienna’s English stand-up open mic! Watch & perform every Monday at The Comedy Pub. Free entry, cozy vibe, endless laug Vienna’s English Stand-Up Comedy Open Mic – Every Monday at The Comedy Pub ## 😂 Mondays Don’t Have to Suck The weekend might be over — but the laughter doesn’t stop. Welcome to **Monday Night Laughs**, Vienna’s cozy and community-driven **English stand-up comedy open mic**, where locals, expats, and travelers come together to kick off the week with big laughs and good vibes. Every Monday night, *The Comedy Pub Vienna* turns into a creative playground for comedians and comedy lovers alike. Whether it’s your first time at a show or your tenth, you’ll feel right at home. Forget Netflix. Forget the Monday blues. This is your weekly reminder that laughter fixes everything — especially on a Monday. ## 🎭 What Is *Monday Night Laughs*? It’s not a fancy showcase or a big-ticket headliner night. It’s something much better — it’s *real*. Here, the mic is open, the drinks are cold, and the laughter is honest. You’ll see comedians from all over the world — from total beginners testing their first five minutes to experienced performers working out new jokes for their next tour. No two shows are ever the same. One moment you’ll hear a joke about Austrian bureaucracy, the next about dating disasters in Spain or cultural shocks in Tokyo. It’s raw, spontaneous, and absolutely unpredictable — the way live comedy is meant to be. And because it’s all happening in English, the night draws a wonderfully mixed crowd: locals, internationals, and everyone in between. ## 🎙️ For Performers If you’ve ever thought, *“I could do that,”* this is your sign. *Monday Night Laughs* is one of Vienna’s most supportive and encouraging open mics for new comedians. No judgment, no pressure — just a room full of people who love to laugh and want you to succeed. It’s the perfect place to try stand-up for the first time, or to test new material before your next big show. The vibe is friendly, relaxed, and full of creative energy — comedy at its purest form. Sign-up is open before the show — come early, grab a drink, and put your name down. Who knows? You might be the next crowd favorite. ## 🎤 For the Audience If you just want to watch, you’re in for a treat. This is one of Vienna’s most authentic live experiences — a place where you can laugh, relax, and see the future stars of stand-up before they blow up. You’ll witness comedy in its rawest form: jokes being born, ideas taking shape, and performers finding their voice. Sometimes it’s perfect, sometimes it’s weird — but it’s *always* fun. Grab a beer, find a seat, and enjoy a night full of unpredictable laughter. ## 🍻 The Atmosphere The Comedy Pub isn’t just a venue — it’s a community. It’s the heart of Vienna’s growing stand-up scene, a space where people come together to connect, perform, and laugh without judgment. The audience cheers each performer, the comedians support one another, and the whole night feels like hanging out with friends who happen to be hilarious. It’s the kind of Monday night you’ll want to make a tradition. ## 📍 The Venue: The Comedy Pub Vienna 📍 **Kettenbrückengasse 7, 1050 Vienna** Nestled in the heart of Vienna’s 5th district, *The Comedy Pub* is the city’s only dedicated stand-up comedy club — a cozy Irish-style bar with warm lighting, a friendly crowd, and the perfect stage for laughter. 🍻 A full bar with great drinks 🎭 Intimate setting with front-row energy 🌍 A melting pot of locals, expats & travelers 🪑 First come, first seated – so come early! ## 📅 Event Details 📆 **Every Monday** 🚪 **Doors open:** 19:30 🎤 **Show starts:** 20:00 📍 **The Comedy Pub**, Kettenbrückengasse 7, 1050 Vienna 🗣️ **Language:** English 💶 **Entry:** Free entry – donations welcome (if you laugh, you pay in karma… or cash 😉) ## ✨ Why You’ll Love It Because this is what real comedy feels like. No lights, no filters, no fake laughs — just honest jokes, good people, and that unbeatable live energy that you can’t stream. **Monday Night Laughs** is more than a show — it’s a community, a creative space, and the friendliest way to start your week in Vienna. So come for the comedy, stay for the connections, and leave with sore cheeks from laughing. Monday Night Laughs: Vienna’s English stand-up open mic! Watch & perform every Monday at The Comedy Pub. PCE Philosophic Conversation in English
PCE Philosophic Conversation in English
PCE - "Philosophic Conversation in English" is a discussion event in English language which focuses on psychology, philosophy, self-consciousness and self-realization. The conversation is based on inclusive discussion rules. We will meet at at a restaurant where we will have a private room exclusively reserved for our event. Please don't bring pets to the event because the room availability is limited at this venue. At the beginning we will choose the two topics to discuss. Everybody can suggest a topic. Afterwards we will vote what topics to discuss. The person who suggests a winning topic will start the discussion by explaining his/her idea. Afterwards everybody gets his/her chance to make a statement. But you can also decide to remain silent and only listen, if you prefer that. We have a time limit for statements, so that everybody has enough time to speak. It is not allowed to interrupt somebody who is speaking. After a statement everybody can ask a question and the speaker will answer. After the first part there will be a 15 minutes break before we start the second part. Everybody is welcome to our event: We are interested in your thoughts and opinions! It is no problem if you arrive late and you can also leave whenever you want. Please don't bring pets to this event because the room is usually very crowded. Please make sure to register for the event to secure your seat! DEX MEV in Closed Form (Sandwich Attacks)
DEX MEV in Closed Form (Sandwich Attacks)
📢 **Upcoming IEEE Blockchain Austria Meetup** 🗓 **Wednesday, May 6th, 2026** 🕕 **18:00–20:00 CET** 📍 **WU Wien** EA.5.044 🎙 **Mark Richardson** (Project Lead, Bancor Protocol) *** 🔍 **Topic: DEX MEV in Closed Form (Sandwich Attacks)** *** We’re pleased to host **Mark Richardson**, Project Lead at **Bancor** Protocol. Mark holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne and transitioned from research science into DeFi in 2021. At Bancor, he has been leading the development of **Carbon DeFi**, a system enabling strategy-specific liquidity provision and more expressive market participation. His work focuses on combining rigorous quantitative methods with practical protocol design, while maintaining decentralization, user safety, and simplicity. This talk provides an analytical and algebraic examination of **Decentralized Exchange (DEX) Maximal Extracted Value (MEV)**, focusing specifically on the sandwich attack mechanism. Mark derives the closed-form solution for computing the optimal, profit-maximizing sandwich attack in the prototypical x\*y=k AMM. The variables, constraints, and the objective function that an MEV searcher must solve when exploiting a pending DEX trade by a naive user are explicitly defined and elaborated. Specifically, the talk provides the details for calculating exact, optimal front-run and back-run trade sizes, illustrated by numeric examples. This rigorous, quantitative work is essential for designing and evaluating future mechanisms aimed at mitigating or redistributing MEV in blockchain economies. The seminar is aimed at researchers and practitioners interested in mechanism design, applied cryptography, market engineering, DeFi, AMMs, and applied cryptoeconomics

CBusData - Practical AI for Power BI Developers
CBusData - Practical AI for Power BI Developers
Practical AI for Power BI Developers A year ago, “agentic AI” was mostly hype for Power BI teams. Today, it deserves your undivided attention. For Power BI pros, there is now a real opportunity to reduce repetitive development work, accelerate delivery, and help developers do more, but only when strong DataOps practices are in place to make AI workflows effective. This session is a no-nonsense introduction to effective AI patterns for Power BI and Fabric development. Along the way, we will make sense of the growing pile of terminology, including skills, plugins, hooks, and MCP. You will see examples of how modern AI tooling can help with development tasks across Power BI and Fabric, along with the prerequisites, guardrails, and DataOps principles needed to use it responsibly. Whether you're burned out on AI hype or already using Copilot CLI daily, this session will show you the foundations that are finally making AI-assisted development genuinely useful.
Building Scalable Customer Identity Resolution Pipelines on AWS Using AI
Building Scalable Customer Identity Resolution Pipelines on AWS Using AI
Customer identity resolution becomes increasingly complex as organizations scale across multiple systems, regions, and data formats. Traditional rule-based approaches often fail to keep up with data variability, require constant manual tuning, and struggle with real-time processing needs. This session presents a practical approach to building a scalable identity resolution pipeline using AWS services and modern AI techniques. The architecture combines data ingestion through Amazon S3 and AWS Glue, transformation pipelines using Spark on EMR, and machine learning models deployed via SageMaker for entity matching and standardization. Graph-based relationship modeling is implemented using Amazon Neptune to improve resolution accuracy by incorporating household and shared attribute context. We will walk through how machine learning models can be used for name and address normalization, how intelligent blocking strategies improve matching efficiency, and how feedback loops can be introduced to continuously improve accuracy. The session also highlights how serverless components such as AWS Lambda can be used for orchestration and real-time processing. **SPEAKER BIO** Mosaic Syed is a Senior Data Engineering and Cloud Solutions Architect with over 20 years of experience designing and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions across global enterprise environments. https://www.linkedin.com/in/mosaic-basha-syed-92300856 **CALL FOR SPEAKERS** Learn more: [https://www.awscolumbus.com/get-involved/](https://www.awscolumbus.com/get-involved/) **THANK YOU** *VEEAM* for hosting our meetup! Duty vs. Results: What Makes an Action Moral?
Duty vs. Results: What Makes an Action Moral?
When judging morality, should we prioritize **intentions/duty** or **outcomes/results**? It introduces two influential philosophers as representatives of these approaches. * **Immanuel Kant (deontology):** An action is moral when it is done from **duty** and follows rational, universal principles (the **categorical imperative**). Certain acts—like lying—are wrong regardless of the consequences; you can’t do a wrong thing for a right reason. * **John Stuart Mill (utilitarian consequentialism):** The morality of an action is determined by its **effects**, specifically how much **happiness/well-being** it produces. Mill argues that some pleasures are “higher” than others, and that good intentions don’t redeem harmful outcomes. ## Discussion Questions 1. **The lying dilemma:** A murderer comes to your door and asks if your friend is hiding inside. Kant would say you must not lie. 2. **Can good intentions rescue a bad outcome?** 3. **The organ harvest problem:** A surgeon has five patients dying of organ failure and one healthy patient in for a checkup. Killing the one to harvest organs would save five lives, and the math works out for the utilitarian. Why does this feel so deeply wrong? Is that feeling a point in Kant's favor, or just a bias we should overcome? 4. **Do rules need exceptions?** Kant insists moral rules must be universal, with no exceptions. But most of us can imagine extreme scenarios where any rule seems like it should bend. Does the need for exceptions fatally undermine deontology, or is the strength of the system precisely that it refuses to bend? 5. **Who gets to calculate the consequences?** Utilitarianism asks us to maximize good outcomes, but we're notoriously bad at predicting consequences. If we can't reliably know the results of our actions, is it practical to base our entire moral system on outcomes? Does this uncertainty push us back toward rules and principles? 6. **Everyday morality:** Think about a real moral decision you've made recently, even a small one. Did you reason more like a Kantian (what's the right thing to do in principle?) or more like a utilitarian (what will produce the best result?)? Do most people naturally lean one way? 7. **Justice vs. the greater good:** A town can prevent a deadly plague by sacrificing one innocent person. The greater good is clearly served. But is it just? Can an action be morally right and deeply unjust at the same time? 8. **The big synthesis question:** Are these two systems actually opposed, or do they often arrive at the same answers by different paths? Is it possible that we need both: rules to guide us in the moment and consequences to evaluate systems and policies over time?
