Hi everyone, I'm Jake and I'm a local history student based in Bray offering free walking tours! Today it’s known as a seaside resort and commuter town, but Bray’s history stretches back thousands of years. The area has evidence of human activity dating back to prehistoric times and even has links to the Romans. The name “Bray” is believed to come from the Irish Brí Chualann, meaning “hill of Cualu”, referring to the nearby headland known as Bray Head. Today Bray is the largest town in County Wicklow with a population of almost 35,000. Come along and find out about it's fascinating history! On Friday 26th June we will have an evening walk in the Dublin Mountains - with some of the loveliest views around Dublin. Although it's 5 days after the actual summer solstice, sunset is at 9:57pm so we have plenty of time to enjoy the long summer evening. From the meeting point we will take the 44B bus to Johnnie Fox's pub, known for being one of the highest pubs in Ireland. We will then walk to Ballyedmondiff Wedge Tomb (also known as Giant's Grave), Two Rock, Fairy Castle and Three Rock before finishing up with a quick drink in the Blue Light pub (if we wish). There is then a pleasant 15-20 mins walk to the bus stop where there are buses to Dundrum & Dublin City Centre and Glencairn Luas stop (with Green Line services). If the weather is good, we may stop for a short picnic along the way, so feel free to bring food and drink. Feel free to come on the walk even if you haven't been to a meet up before. This is a great way to meet new people and see new places. \*\*\* If you wish to wander off during a break then it's probably OK but please agree with the organisers a time you'll return so we're not waiting for you \*\*\* [Date] 26th June (FRIDAY) [Time] 17:15 \~ 22:00. If you’ve worked with LLMs, you’ve probably run into slow inference, out-of-memory errors, or hallucinations you couldn’t explain. There’s no shortage of resources on how transformers work, but most of them either ask you to build one from scratch or get lost in theory that doesn’t connect to the problems you’re actually facing. Transformers in Practice is different. We will give a complete practical view of how transformers work, from how they generate text to what’s happening inside the model to how it all gets optimized to run on real hardware. Interactive visualizations throughout let you see key concepts in action and build intuition that actually sticks. Here’s what you’ll learn: * **Model Behavior:** You’ll learn how LLMs generate text through an autoregressive loop, selecting one token at a time from a probability distribution.
