Collaborative Modeling Meetup - EventStorming Deep Dive, Part 2
Collaborative Modeling Meetup - EventStorming Deep Dive, Part 2
For 2026, we are starting a new series of EventStorming deep dives. These will be like coding katas, except there's no coding, only sticky notes. In each of these sessions, we will explore a nuance of the EventStorming technique that we don't normally have time to go into during a more general workshop. What are we exploring this time? You'll have to show up to find out. As always, everyone is welcome. You don't need to be a software engineer to participate. In fact, it would be great to have more people who aren't software engineers. We're here to solve problems cross-functionally, not get into implementation details. As long as you care passionately about getting things right, then you belong here! This is a hands-on workshop. Be prepared to participate fully and add to the energy of the room. Looking forward to seeing you there!

We are back in the c-base! Do you already run NixOS and want to talk to other people or want an introductory session with some NixOS users. Just bring your machine! Usually there are no topics, we just sit in front of our computers, talk about stuff, debug some problems or review some PRs on nixpkgs. There are drinks usually available from the c-base bar. If you can't find us. just ask around or ask in irc (#krebs on hackint)

February Meetup: The principles of Ambisonics and Trackers
February Meetup: The principles of Ambisonics and Trackers
On the 3rd February we will host the next iteration of our monthly Audio Developer Meetup where **Svein Berge** will be giving a talk on ambisonics and **Christoph Schied** will be showing [Stracker](https://bleep.toys/stracker/). See below! As always, there will be a chance to network over drinks and pizza. Anyone interested in Audio development is welcome! Doors open at 18:00, talks start at 18:15. Please note: Attendance is **strictly limited** to people who have RSVP'd Talk details: **The principles of ambisonics** \- Svein Berge More talk details to follow shortly Svein Berge has a master's degree in electronics and acoustics from NTNU in Norway and a Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies in lasers and atomic physics from Université Paris 6. He has worked as a software developer in the telecoms industry since the 90s and as an individual developer in the field of ambisonics since about 2009, where he created the Harpex decoder and Spacemic ambisonic microphone array among other things. He has been based in Berlin since 2011, where he runs the company Harpex Audio GmbH. **Writing a modern tracker, how hard can it be?** \- Christoph Schied When I started Shield Tracker as a spare-time project in December 2023, I was frustrated by existing hardware and software sequencers. I kept wondering, how hard can it really be, and with little background in audio programming I decided to find out. The project escalated quickly, now sitting at over 45k handwritten lines of code, including a custom UI framework driven by a domain-specific-language, a built-in programmable fantasy CPU, various synth engines, effects, cross platform compatibility, and many more features. After a brief demonstration of the tracker I will talk about my techniques for achieving a high development speed and maintaining the momentum. With this talk I hope to inspire attendees to build things from scratch and go onto their own explorative coding journeys. Christoph Schied established himself as a live experimental electronic music performer in the Seattle underground music scene under the moniker "Herr Shield". In his live performances he uses a hybrid hardware setup with his custom-written tracker. He has over a decade of experience as a professional graphics researcher and developer.

PBerg engineers - monthly meetup
PBerg engineers - monthly meetup
**This is 100% non-profit. The 15€ sign up fee for everyone is only to minimize last-minute cancellations. The total sum goes to a bar-tap that everyone can use to order drinks until the amount is used up. ‼️NO REFUNDS‼️** **‼️Please don't just show up without RSVPing here and paying the 15€. We have a separate room that has limited capacity and a specific drinks agreement with the bar - so splitting up the bill won't become a mess.‼️** **Small update on how your money get's used from May 2024 onwards:** As of this month, meetup.com has started charging me 34€ instead of 16€ per month. I've decided to distribute this fee evenly among all us participants every month. Example: In the last 12 meetups, the average number of attendees was 17. With 17 attendees I would effectively collect 230€ (after fees). I would now substract 34€ leaving us with 196€ that go to the bar. 15% get's tipped to the wait staff, in this case 30€, leaving us with 166€ effectively to order drinks. Hope everyone is cool with this system. :) Website: https://www.pberg-engineers.me WhatsApp groups: Please come and join us on WhatsApp! \- "PBerg Engineers \- NEWS" \- Only organizers can post announcements or polls \-\> https://chat\.whatsapp\.com/EqMJMmlCZO6LOOfAoG4yTj \- "PBerg Engineers \- DISCUSS" \- Everyone can post \-\> https://chat\.whatsapp\.com/LPuo76J83gF6IZMLUcM4u2 Please join those groups now if you're interested. :) All skill/education-levels welcome! :) Lightning Talks: \- TBD We'll also have a brief "Jobs: Lost & Found section". **Location:** From the street you will have to enter the right hand Cafe Chagall (yes, there are 2). Then, you go upstairs and our private room is in the far end corner of the building. We are a relaxed, non-formal meetup of like-minded software engineers who want to always keep learning and want to meet in physical reality over a drink or two. The new product skill is not prompting. It's taste.
The new product skill is not prompting. It's taste.
**Here's what nobody tells you about the AI age in product work: it didn't solve our hardest problem. It actually made it worse.** When execution was expensive, bad ideas died naturally through friction. We couldn't explore every direction, so we got really good at being ruthless about what actually deserved to get built. But now? AI has made execution ridiculously cheap. You can write specs in minutes, spin up prototypes in hours, and often code practically writes itself. No question that you can produce 10x more output than you could before. But here's the thing: in our craft, **producing 10x more doesn't mean you're creating 10x more value.** Most conversations about AI and product management obsess over tactics - how can you prompt better? What AI features could you ship? How can you ship faster? But the truth is that speed isn't the competitive advantage in our industry anymore. Judgment is. **The product builders who'll define the next decade aren't the ones generating more output or ideas - they're the ones who can stand in front of infinite plausible options and point to the one that matters.** Join us on February 5th as Akash Kedia takes a fresh look at what AI really changes in product work. Building is indeed easier than ever, which means judgment matters more than ever, too. When everything is fast, bad decisions ship just as easily as good ones. If you've felt the discomfort of infinite options but zero clarity, and you're ready to think harder about what good judgment actually looks like, this one's for you! Thank you to our host **N26** for making this event possible. **Agenda** 18:30 - Doors open 19:00 - Hello from ProductTank 19:05 - Main Talk 19:30 - Fireside chat with Akash 19:45 - Q&A with Akash 20:00 - Networking 21:30 - Event ends Please note * **N26 is a bank so please bring your IDs as you’ll need it when entering the venue.** * The event is RSVP only: to enter, you must RSVP here on Meetup. * We'd like to capture the event with photographs for promotional purposes, such as sharing on LinkedIn after the event. If you have any concerns or preferences regarding this, please feel free to let us know beforehand.
From Projects to Products: Why Data Products Are Still Hard
From Projects to Products: Why Data Products Are Still Hard
**From Projects to Products: Why Data Products Are Still Hard** A Data Products Book Launch & Practitioner Panel **About the event** This meetup marks the release of **Amy Raygada’s new book on Data Products** and explores why, despite years of discussion, data products are still hard to implement in practice. Data products are not a new concept. For years, organisations have talked about treating data as a product — with clear ownership, well-defined interfaces, and measurable business value. And yet, many teams continue to struggle with fragmented dashboards, inconsistent metrics, and slow, reactive delivery. So why is this still so difficult? In this meetup, we’ll unpack why data products remain hard in practice — not because teams lack tools or frameworks, but because meaning, ownership, and operating models are often misunderstood or only partially implemented. Through in-depth practitioner talks and discussion, we’ll explore: * Why data initiatives often slip back into project mode * Where ownership breaks down across domains and platforms * How weak semantics and unclear definitions erode trust * What changes when data products are treated as long-lived products rather than delivery artefacts * Why AI and advanced analytics amplify these challenges instead of solving them The conversation is grounded in real delivery experience across engineering, architecture, and data strategy. It also features insights from Amy Raygada’s newly released book, which captures lessons learned from years of hands-on work helping organisations move from intent to execution. Expect practical perspectives, honest trade-offs, and an open discussion — not hype, not vendor pitches, and no one-size-fits-all answers. **About the speakers** **Amy Raygada** Principal Data & AI Strategist at Thoughtworks \| Author Amy Raygada is a Principal Data & AI Strategist at Thoughtworks, with over a decade of experience helping organisations design and govern data products that deliver real business impact. Her work spans data product strategy, governance, operating models, and AI readiness, with a strong focus on aligning technical capabilities with decision-making. This meetup marks the release of her new book on Data Products, bringing together lessons from years of real-world delivery across industries. **Kiran Prakash** Director, Data & AI at Thoughtworks Kiran Prakash is a Director in the Data & AI service line at Thoughtworks, working with organisations to design and scale data-driven systems. In his talk *“What We Talk About When We Talk About Data Products,”* Kiran presents a practical approach to designing, implementing, and governing data products. Drawing on real-world experience, he clarifies what data products are — and what they are not — and explores how teams can work backwards from use cases, apply adaptable implementation patterns, and use governance mechanisms such as fitness functions to keep data products aligned over time. **Carsten Fritsch** Principal Data Engineer at Thoughtworks Carsten Fritsch is a Principal Data Engineer at Thoughtworks in Berlin, with deep experience in data engineering, analytics architecture, and data modelling at scale. His work focuses on semantic layers, shared metrics, and the practical challenges of operationalising meaning across organisations. Carsten brings a grounded perspective on why semantics are foundational to trustworthy data products — especially as organisations move toward AI-driven use cases. **Format** * Each speaker will deliver a **25–30 minute talk**, followed by **Q&A** * Final **panel discussion** with all speakers * Open audience Q&A * Informal networking and book signing \-\-\-\-\-\- **Code of Conduct** We adhere to the [Berlin Code of Conduct](https://berlincodeofconduct.org/) to ensure a welcoming and respectful environment for all participants. The event space operates under largely compatible [Thoughtworks Meetups & Events CoC](https://www.thoughtworks.com/en-de/about-us/events/code-of-conduct-germany). **Accessibility** The Location is accessible for wheelchair users. This includes the entrance (no steps to get into the location), toilets and the stage.

AI Development Risk Case Studies and how Agentic AI is the future of Appsec
AI Development Risk Case Studies and how Agentic AI is the future of Appsec
OWASP is ending use of Meetup, so I built an eventbrite for the event. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ai-development-risk-case-studies-and-how-agentic-ai-is-the-future-of-appsec-tickets-1981450622150?aff=oddtdtcreator AI is transforming how software is designed, developed, and deployed, dramatically accelerating velocity while introducing new categories of risk. As organizations adopt AI-assisted coding, autonomous agents, and increasingly complex model interactions, traditional application security approaches struggle to keep pace. This talk examines emerging AI-driven risks through real case studies from the field, highlighting issues such as insecure code generation, data-leakage pathways, model manipulation, and evolving supply-chain threats. We will explore how engineering teams must adapt their people, processes, and governance models to secure AI-augmented development workflows effectively. The session will then introduce agentic AI as the next evolution in application security—autonomous systems capable of continuous analysis, multi-step reasoning, and real-time remediation. Attendees will learn how combining agentic AI with modern practices can reduce developer friction, improve coverage, and create a future-ready application security strategy designed for the demands of AI-native software development

Azure CBUS February: Build Your Own MCP Server
Azure CBUS February: Build Your Own MCP Server
### Tools in your AI's Toolbox : An introduction to MCP Servers The generative AI revolution has unlocked unprecedented capabilities, but the next frontier is agency: empowering models to interact with, query, and act upon the world. The current challenge is the “N x M integration problem,” where every AI model requires a custom, brittle integration for each external tool or data source. This approach simply doesn’t scale. How can we give an AI access to our sales leads, code repositories, or IoT devices in a standardized, secure, and reusable way? This session introduces Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open-source framework designed to solve this challenge and become the universal connector—the USB-C port—for AI. MCP standardizes how AI models discover and use external tools, moving beyond simple function-calling to a robust, client-server architecture. We will dive into how this open protocol is creating a new ecosystem for building powerful, context-aware AI agents. Join this session for a developer-focused introduction where you will learn how to: Understand the core concepts of the open-source Model Context Protocol and its architecture. Utilize pre-built, open-source MCP servers to instantly connect AI to tools like Git, Slack, and databases. Build a custom MCP server to securely expose your own proprietary data and APIs as tools for any compliant AI. Move beyond bespoke integrations and contribute to a standardized, collaborative, and open ecosystem. Stop building one-off connectors and start building intelligent agents. This session will give you the practical knowledge to leverage MCP and create the next generation of AI that doesn’t just talk, but does. Want to be a speaker? submit your talk to our Call for Presenters!!! [https://sessionize.com/azure-cbus-2026/](https://sessionize.com/azure-cbus-2026/)

To this end we've set up a survey form at [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/15eBKF1nQQ2XS5gzD4rvhVRHMBEj7lJtHuA9wXupS3Uc](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/15eBKF1nQQ2XS5gzD4rvhVRHMBEj7lJtHuA9wXupS3Uc)
