TEiP SPECIAL SERIES: LIVING WITH TECH • S1E2: THE WAY WE CONNECT
TEiP SPECIAL SERIES: LIVING WITH TECH • S1E2: THE WAY WE CONNECT
The second episode in our special series designed to open different conversations about AI, tech, and their impact on our lives. (Substack about our rationale for this event series [here](https://open.substack.com/pub/experimentsingroupwisdom/p/bored-of-having-the-same-conversation?r=445zi1&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true) 😊) We’ll use the typical THOUGHT EXPERIMENTS IN PUBS (TEiP) method of getting into great conversations: small group discussions, tiny imaginary stories, lots of questions, and many opportunities to shuffle groups (more detail below). **The thought experiments for these events are written by special guest writer and TEiP regular, Francesca.** She’s in the middle of a fellowship at Newspeak House (London College of Political Technology) and has her finger on the pulse of many issues related to technology and its impact on our lives. (You can find her writing [here](https://themagpiebrain.substack.com/)). As Francesca alludes to in one of her thought experiments: **discussing concepts and ideas with other people (rather than asking ChatGPT) is like going to the gym for your mind.** But as anyone who has been to TEiP will know, TEiP’s lighthearted and playful atmosphere means that it’s more like a fun dance workout than crossfit or weightlifting. **How we'll do it** (timings approximate): * 7:00pm - Arrive at Newspeak House. Nearest station Shoreditch High Street. * Organise ourselves into small groups (3-4). * Have a look at the thought experiments (announced on the day of the event) * 7:15 - Introduction to the event * 7:20 - First rotation begins - Talk about the first thought experiment, but feel free to veer off topic and pursue new avenues of conversation. * 7:45 - Optional reshuffle: swap groups, move on to the second thought experiment. * 8:15 - Optional reshuffle: swap groups, move on to the third thought experiment. * 8:45pm - Wrap up - votes to discern general views of the room; info about upcoming events; feedback/requests for future meetups. * 9:00 Meetup ‘ends’. But feel free to carry on conversations. We have the room until 10 :-) **Notes on the general atmosphere:** * The vibe is to let conversation flow rather than stick strictly to one topic. * While we'd like to talk about 'meaningful things', we also see the value in lighter topics, so don't worry about not being 'deep' enough! * Feel free to suggest ideas for future THOUGHT EXPERIMENTS IN PUBS meetup groups, both in terms of structure and topics to discuss. **Where we'll meet:** This group will be at NEWSPEAK HOUSE. The nearest Overground Station is Shoreditch High Street. Nearby Tube stations: Bethnal Green, Whitechapel, Old Street, and Liverpool Street. You can access the venue step-free on the ground floor. Bathrooms are available at the venue. **Please note: There is no bar at the venue, but you are very welcome to bring your own drinks.** **Who should come:** Everyone! We believe that the more perspectives, the richer the conversation. This group is not about being experts in Philosophy, it is about doing philosophy. That is, bringing our various life experiences and lenses on the world to group discussions about the human experience, the nature of reality... etc.... **[SUBSTACK](https://experimentsingroupwisdom.substack.com/)** \- newsletter and other writing **[WHATSAPP GROUP](https://chat.whatsapp.com/DapwAXpnOHO5DRYThobpe4)** \- stay in the loop **[INSTAGRAM](https://www.instagram.com/thoughtexperimentsinpubs/)** \- see what we look like **[WEBSITE](https://www.alltogether.one/)** \- everything else **If having different conversations about technology, AI and their impact on our lives sounds good, or intriguing, to you, please join us :-)**

Rabble - Fitness Through Games!
Rabble - Fitness Through Games!
A Rabble session is 1 hour of fun and social team games. Each game disguises high-intensity intervals within the rules, giving you an effective, all-body workout without even realising it. We play a bunch of different games at each session (like British Bulldog, Capture the Flag, Dodgeball, Frisbee and many more), and every class is different. Sessions are open to all, no matter your sporting ability. Each game is explained before we start, so there's no need to have played any of the games before. Come solo or bring friends! And stay at the end for the social part! Who knew getting fit could be this fun? **TO BOOK**: It's essential that you book onto sessions via our website, using the link below; due to restrictions on games and preparation times we cannot accept walk-ins, or late arrivals. [https://joinrabble.com/locations/london/](https://joinrabble.com/locations/london/) Use the code **FREEPLAY** to get your first game free! *** We play every: * Monday in Finsbury Park (19:00 - 20:00) * Tuesday in Shoreditch Park (19:00 - 20:00) * Wednesdays in Elephant & Castle (19:00-20:00) * Saturday in Southwark Park (10:30 - 11:30) * Saturday in Finsbury Park (11:00 - 12:00) * Sunday in Clapham Common (12:00 - 13:00) We hope to see you playing soon! PS. We have a group of dedicated regulars, so numbers are usually much higher than meetup might suggest. IN OTHER WORLDS immersive exhibition then coffee and cake 🍰
🔮 **Join us as we explore Barbican’s new immersive exhibition, a major work by Liam Young, blending film, sound, design and storytelling.** Please book your ticket on the link below for the 23rd May at 2.45pm (we will meet at 2.30 and will wait 15mins for everyone to arrive) 🎫 ** [Book your ticket here.](https://tickets.barbican.org.uk/choose-seats/3431214)** About: The show presents immersive, imagined futures shaped by real-world technology and climate challenges. Rather than dystopia, it invites us to explore the possibilities ahead, offering a thought-provoking glimpse into how today’s choices might shape tomorrow’s world. **We will meet by the information desk, near the entrance and will wait 10-15mins for everyone to arrive.** ☕️ We will take about 1 hour to go through the exhibit then we will go for coffee somewhere inside the Barbican.

Everyone welcome 😊

Important to note:

1. We typically socialise at cafés after the exhibit, nice, independent ones, not chains and not at pubs. If the event is late on a Saturday we go to a nice bar/pub for drinks after. This meetup is inclusive and everyone is welcome to join.
2. If you get there before everyone and you're not sure what to do or where we are, post a comment on here and I will let you know our whereabouts.
3. Once we go in we may separate, feel free to explore the exhibit by yourself, we don't have to be together. Some people like chatting to others while exploring and other people prefer to be with their own thoughts. You are welcome to express yourself and do whatever helps you feel free.

4. If you are late or if you’ve booked for an earlier or later time don’t worry just go in and you’ll find us inside. Keep an eye on the comments as I’ll be posting updates.

AI Forum London Build Room: What's Actually Working in AI Adoption
AI Forum London Build Room: What's Actually Working in AI Adoption
If you are a founder, operator, manager, or newer AI builder and the AI conversation feels too technical or abstract, this evening is for you. The point is simple: bring one real-world problem from your work, team, customers, hiring, operations, or service delivery. We will use the room to work out what could be tested safely, what should not be automated yet, and what a useful first step might look like. AI adoption is no longer only an engineering topic. The harder questions are now showing up in operations, transformation, HR, product, recruitment, public services, regulated teams, and founder-led companies: - Where does AI actually save work? - What should not be automated yet? - Who owns the risk when an AI system influences a decision? - How do you move from a pilot to a real capability? This is an informal build room for people working through those questions in real organisations. It is still relaxed and social, but the aim is that people leave with something more useful than a few business cards. Come if you are an operator, transformation lead, HR/product/programme person, founder, recruiter, public-sector digital lead, or just someone trying to make AI adoption practical rather than performative. The lightweight format: - bring one real AI adoption problem, workflow, or opportunity - do a few short problem-swap rounds with people facing adjacent issues - leave with an AI Adoption Signal Sheet / Build Card: one useful first experiment, one signal to collect, and one follow-up from the room No slides. No panel. No vendor pitches. Ram will give a short welcome around 7pm, then the rest is structured conversation and open networking. Free to attend. Please RSVP with enough detail for us to understand who is in the room. You do not need to have built an AI product or know the technical vocabulary. You should leave with a clearer view of one practical place AI could help, one risk or constraint to watch, and one useful person or next step to follow up with.

Mental Health, how do you understand it? How can you improve it? How do you get rid of stress, anxiety and uncertainty? These emotions are buried deep in your reactive mind. Find out what the reactive mind is, and in the process find yourself. Have you ever suffered from a traumatic experience, a deep loss or been through a painful breakup? Has your ability to communicate suffered as a result? And after that, even though you "moved on" did you find that things were never quite the same? Have you ever looked at childhood photos, or reminisced your early life and wondered where that happiness and spark went? Are your emotions out of your own control? Have you ever felt, even if you aren’t aware of it, that possibly you are getting in your own way of your happiness and success? How does this affect your self-confidence? Find out what is at the root of all stress, anxiety, depression and self-doubt. Find out how and why you hold yourself back from achieving your goals and having the life you have dreamed of.
