Rabble - Fitness Through Games!
A Rabble session is 1 hour of fun and social team games.
Each game disguises high-intensity intervals within the rules, giving you an effective, all-body workout without even realising it.
We play a bunch of different games at each session (like British Bulldog, Capture the Flag, Dodgeball, Frisbee and many more), and every class is different.
Sessions are open to all, no matter your sporting ability. Each game is explained before we start, so there's no need to have played any of the games before.
Come solo or bring friends! And stay at the end for the social part!
Who knew getting fit could be this fun?
**TO BOOK**:
It's essential that you book onto sessions via our website, using the link below; due to restrictions on games and preparation times we cannot accept walk-ins, or late arrivals.

**LEXHAM CHAMBER CONCERTS**
Lexham Gardens. W8 5JR
*In aid of Parkinson’s Charities*
Tuesday 7th April at 7:15pm
presents
Keith Williams (‘cello) and Sarah Rasmussen (Piano)
The programme (yet to be finalised) will include some works from the sets they prepared for the competition (but not exclusively from these):
Prokofiev Cello Sonata
Beethoven 7 Variations in Eb Major
Britten Solo Cello Suite
I overheard Keith and Sarah practising in my room for the “Classic Cello” International Competition at the RCM, and my immediate thought was “I wonder they would be willing…”
They were and have kindly offered to play for us on April 7th, the night before they return to the US.
Paraphrasing Keith’s comment on his preparation for the competition: “It’s not as tidy as I would like because of the relatively short preparation time\* – but I hope the music is there” (and, yes, it is).

ANSARI QADIRI RIFAI ZIKR - EVERY TUESDAY
ANSARI QADIRI RIFAI SUFI ORDER (AQRT) - UK TUESDAY ZIKR/MEDITATION
The Ansari Qadiri-Rifai Sufi Order (London branch), under the guidance of Shaykh Taner Vargonen Ansari, is pleased to invite men and women, regardless of your faith or beliefs to our weekly Tuesday zikr.
We are a Sufi order whose origins started with two great Saints of early Sufism: Shaykh Abdul Qadir al Geylani and Shaykh Ahmed er Rifai. Our Tradition is one of inclusiveness and of welcoming.
This tradition has passed down to us through the current Spiritual Guide of the Order: Shaykh Taner Vargonen Ansari, who now resides in New York and is helping establish Sufism in the West.
Come, Come whoever you are, wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving. Our's is not a caravan of despair. Come even if you have broken your vows a thousand times, Come, come yet again. (Mevlana Rumi)
Sufism is the spiritual/ mystical path of Islam. During the Zikr (the ceremony of remembrance) we practice some simple movements accompanied by frame drumming, hymn singing and chanting. In Zikr, each member of the group effaces him or herself in the remembrance of God using the energy of the entire group synergistically for the development of all.
We start at 19:15 with the group zikr for about one hour.
We welcome everyone who comes in peace. The Zikr is free but a donation to help with the venue hire would be greatly appreciated.
We hope to see you soon.
Please contact : Rita on 07941 653337 (ritaglh@yahoo.co.uk) or Reeyaaz on 07875 569921 (smreeyaaz@gmail.com) if you want any information about our Sufi order or Sufism in general.

📚 BOOK CLUB: KING/QUEEN, WARRIOR, MAGICIAN, LOVER - ARE ARCHETYPES REAL?
**📢 Date Change: Sunday, April 12th. Apologies for any inconvenience.**
📚 **In our next Book Club, we ask: Is there a King (or Queen) inside all of us?**
We are discussing the concepts of **Archetypal Energy**—universal personality patterns found in Jungian psychology.
Our guide for the discussion is “King, Warrior, Magician, Lover” by Moore and Gillette. Don't let the title fool you; while the book focuses on men, we will be debating whether these structures (and their feminine counterparts) are universal to everyone. **Are archetypes a biological reality for both genders?**
**POTENTIAL DISCUSSION POINTS:**
* **Are personalities hard-wired?** Jung suggests we are born with deep-seated instincts like the "King" (Order) or "Lover" (Connection). Do you feel these forces exist inside you, or are they just made-up metaphors?
* **Are these energies gender-specific?** While the book focuses on men, many argue there is a mirrored "feminine" quadrant: **Queen, Mother, Wise Woman, and Lover**. Is this symmetry real, or does the female psyche require a totally different map (like Toni Wolff's Mother, Amazon, Medium, & Hetaira)?
* **Is "Boy Psychology" to blame for toxic behavior?** The authors argue society is full of adults acting like children because we lack "initiation" into adulthood. Does this explain modern "toxic masculinity," and is there a roadmap to fix it?
* **Have you met the "Shadow" forms?** The book argues that when these energies are unbalanced, they turn dark (e.g., the King becomes a Tyrant). Have you seen these shadow behaviors in your boss, your partner, or even yourself?
\-\-\-\-\-
**Prior to meeting, please read/engage in the summaries of the book to ensure a fruitful discussion:**

**GROUND RULES:**
This is a nice gentle, but thought-provoking, discussion.
It's a judgement-free zone where people can air their thoughts on particular issues, and find out about other people's similar and different perspectives.
So bring your best opinions and ideas. Everyone is welcome.
**LOCATION:**
We will meet in the 1st floor area of Coffee Island Edgware Road.
There's plenty of space 🛋️, and coffee ☕, tea ☕ cold drinks, and snacks are available.

🗣️ Arabic Practice Circle: Social & Structured Session
A regular meetup for those committed to practising and improving their Arabic. It is designed for those who know the very basics and want a structured opportunity to practise reading, listening, speaking, and building confidence. If you're still learning the very basics but want some motivation to keep going, you're very welcome to join.
Note: This is a practice group facilitated by a native speaker - not a formal teacher or taught class, and not a Quran teaching session.
📚 SESSION FORMAT:
⏱️ 30 mins Intro & Social: We'll go around and introduce ourselves in Arabic. Feel free to prepare 2-3 sentences beforehand if you don't like being put on the spot!
🗣️ 60 mins Structured Practice: A focused session practising together with guidance :
◾ Taking turns reading passages aloud
◾ Listening to excerpts from an audiobook
◾ Working together to translate and understand the text
💬 Continued Socialising: Feel free to stick around afterwards for more informal chat and connection.
✊ Note: Active Muslims is equally about focusing on the actual activity, in this case, it is a practice session requiring mental engagement and active participation (and not just a social), therefore it is advised to approach and attend these events with that mindset, intention and purpose.
📍 LOCATION: Barbican
⌚ MEET: By the cafe G Level (Benugo)
⏱️ TIME: Meet from **11:00am** for intros and socialising. The practice session starts promptly at **11:30am** insha'Allah.
🎒 What to bring:
📚 Any Arabic texts you would like to read
🎧 Headphones (optional, if you prefer listening privately)
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
If you can no longer attend, please update your RSVP to free up your spot for someone on the waiting list.

Saturday Mornings @ East Market
Let's grab some coffee/food and share a morning chat! The East Market has an ample parking lot and outdoor and indoor seating.
Grab a cup of coffee from Winston's Coffee & Waffles or on your way to East Market and meet us on the second floor - table behind or east of the elevator.
Per what this group is about: "Everyone is welcome! International transplants to Columbus who want to improve language skills, Columbus residents who want to discuss international travel and culture, and anyone who enjoys getting together for good conversations."
Humanist Program
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event.
We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change. Unchained At Last's mission clearly meshes and addresses several of our Humanist Ten Commitments. Becca will educate us about an issue many of us may not be familiar with--but should be.
Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk.
Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. You can meet us in-person or attend online
