Come out to a evening filled with fun board games at Aslin Beer Company in Herndon! We play a variety of games, including strategy, co-op, and party games! Always welcoming to people who are brand new to the hobby to those who have been playing for years! We will be meeting in the Izzi building (not the main taproom), as there is more table space there and is right next to where you can get food and drinks! There isn't a hard cap on attendees per say, but we would prefer that you sign up in advance so we have a rough head count as to whom to expect! Can't wait to see you all there!

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 7th- through 8th-level characters, playable in 2-3 hours. The deepest parts of the Pathfinder Society's collection of artifacts was once maintained by an entire faction: the Dark Archive. However, as factions changed and roles shifted, the Dark Archive shuttered, leaving the maintenance of this area to Zarta Dralneen, previous faction head and now head archivist of the Society. She's called upon a group of Pathfinders to enter into the deepest areas of the archive not only in search of an artifact that may help in the war with Cheliax, but also to reseal the magical fortifications around the archive, though it seems as though someone is already aware of the weaknesses within the Society... Join us for Puzzled Pint in Washington DC, Arlington, or Fairfax County! http://www.puzzledpint.com/ Puzzled Pint is a casual, social puzzle solving event which happens at bars/pubs on the second Tuesday of every month in multiple cities around the world. The Friday before each event, they post a location puzzle to the web site. The solution to that puzzle will lead you to a local pub/bar/restaurant. There are two locations in Northern Virginia, one in Arlington (sometimes in DC proper) and one in the Fairfax area. Hints will be available on the site for the location puzzle. On the night of the event, show up at the specified pub. We'll have more puzzles for you to solve while you enjoy drinks and food. Most teams take between 30 minutes and 2 hours to solve a typical puzzle set. We, "Game Control", will be on hand to give hints and verify answers. All Puzzled Pint events are free to attend. Puzzled Pint players solve puzzles for fun — there are no prizes. Teams are encouraged — solving is more fun with friends! You may use this meetup as a forum to try and put a team together or you may show up the night of and pick a random table of people to join. *Please note we are not responsible for putting teams together.

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st- through 4th-level characters. A small earthquake and landslide near the mining operations of Marivit Kopje, a Kalistocrat of minor standing, have opened a vault long thought lost. Shimia Renveld was an oddity even among Kalistocrats. She collected oddities that held no real monetary value, or at least that was what she thought. Marivit believes that her recently uncovered collection might hold a key to helping turn around his fortunes, and he's promised the Pathfinders everything else in the vault in order to get it. A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st- through 2nd-level characters, playable in 2-3 hours. When a nascent godling called the Newborn was birthed from the planet Aucturn, chunks of its planetary womb and embryonic fluids were cast across the Pact Worlds, showering the nearby planets of Apostae and Bretheda, and careening through open space. Most of this debris—called aucturnite—collected in a haunted ice field at outer rim of the system called the Gelid Edge. For all its dangers, the Gelid Edge is a frontier of new discoveries and forbidden knowledge, and many Newborn evangelists, anomaly hunters, and occult researchers have flocked to the region to learn its secrets. Among them is Dreamlink Laboratories, a research facility that used aucturnite to create a dreamscape purportedly born from the thoughts of the Newborn. Using this dreamscape, Dreamlink Labs has pinpointed the location of a site they believe is important to the Newborn, though they lack the experience to perform an on-site exploration alone. It’s up to the Starfinder Society to escort an enthusiastic scientist from Dreamlink Labs to investigate this “holy” site! **Content note**: This scenario contains themes related to graphic depictions of disease and surreal settings intended to invoke disgust. Games night is back! With our favorite local game store opening back up, Games night will come back starting Monday June 7th! We are an lgbt+ games group that’s been going for nearly 3 years now! We welcome anyone in the lgbt+ community to come play board games every Monday with our fun and chaotic crew! If you’re brand new to board gaming and looking to make some friends or if you love playing 4 hour space operas and are looking to make some rivals, we’re the group for you! We are an lgbt+ group that focuses on creating a safe lgbt+ community. Non-lgbt+ individuals are welcome when attending with an lgbt+ friend, family member, or partner. Huzzah hobbies currently follows cdc guidelines, where customers who are vaccinated are allowed to not wear masks indoors. With their current hours on Mondays, they are open until 9pm; if they change hours and remain open later, games night will continue until close. Welcome to the Fairfax Home Board Game Group. I have been running this group for 3+ years, every other Saturday. The group has evolved since I first started, so I thought I should update the description to more closely describe how it runs today. This group is hosted at my home in Fairfax and primarily plays hosted games, meaning a player owns the game and will teach others at the table how to play. Below are some tips for a great first visit and what to expect. *** **Tips for the Best Experience for Newcomers** 1. Check the event messages periodically, and more frequently as the event gets closer. If you see someone hosting a game you are interested in, respond to the post to reserve a space. 2. Watch a "how to play" video for the game you want to play. While the host will teach the game at the table, coming prepared will make for a better experience. Most hosts will post a link to a "how to play" video in their initial post. If you want to host a game feel free to post in the event and see if there is interest! 3. Arrive on time. Games tend to start promptly between 8:30pm and 8:45pm — I make it a rule not to wait past 8:45pm. Please also avoid arriving earlier than 8:15pm; if you get to the house before then, please wait in your car as we are usually still getting last-minute things ready. If you do arrive late you are welcome to come in, but depending on when you arrive there may not be a seat available. The last thing I want is for someone to drive all the way out only to miss the game, so please be on time! =) *** **What to Expect & General Tips** **Game Length** — Most games take anywhere between 2 and 3 hours, including the teach, which means you will typically only play one game per evening. Occasionally a shorter game wraps up early and that group may play a second, but that is more the exception than the rule. **Game Difficulty** — This group primarily plays medium to complex games, and while new players are always welcome — the host will teach you at the table! — it's worth knowing what to expect before you come. If you are looking to play games like Scrabble, Monopoly, Uno, or party games, this is probably not the right event for you. In three years I have seen only two party games played and zero classic board games. **Update Your Status** — Please be considerate of others who would like to attend but may be held back by space constraints. If you can no longer make it, update your status as soon as possible so others can attend — even if there is no waitlist.
