The temple of Selûne fears that the cryptic map, and the strange artifact discovered along with it, may signal involvement of the cult of Shar, and hires adventurers to investigate. **This event is hosted using the Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition Adventurers League rules. Thursday is becoming the favored week night for STRATEGY gamers here at Crossroads! We have played Mare Nostrum, Orleans, Gaia Project, and more. Bring your preferences, be ready to split if it's a larger group, and rely on us for an awesome variety of games from which to choose. Tables are situated at a distance and servers wear masks for Covid mitigation, but table-mates should be respectful of each other and have masks ready as well unless you already cohabitate or have reason to trust each other. All other Covid precautions are in place by Crossroads, including hygeine and cleanliness.

A friendly meetup to play both competitive and cooperative board games. Bring some games if you’d like, but don’t worry, we will have plenty to play. Come join us for some fun games and camaraderie. We’re a welcoming and sociable bunch, we have a group of regulars that have been coming for more than a year, and we are welcoming new players all the time. We typically have enough people at this event for three tables playing different games, and we try to make opportunities to switch up groups if multiple tables finish games near the same time. This event is in the bigger of the two rooms with a limit of 20 attendees. There is plenty of room for four medium tables in this room, instead of one large table in the smaller room at the Purcellville Library. If we do have an event with 20 attendees and find that we have space for more, I might increase it, but I don’t want to promise space and not have enough room for everyone. Please do join the waitlist if the event is full, it’s not uncommon for people to pull out same day. As long as you check meetup before the event and are able to join us on short notice, you are very welcome. If you are on the waitlist and you aren’t let in early enough, and you make other plans for the day, of course no worries at all, just cancel your RSVP when you realize you aren’t going to be available to join us. They are easy to learn and are loved by a wide range of players. People will be available to teach how to play each of the games described below. Beginners are welcome. Everyone is welcome to bring other board games and card games that you think people will enjoy. The Mexican Train domino game, Stone Age, and Alhambra are likely to be available. Scrabble and Rumikub have been mentioned as possibilities. **TICKET TO RIDE**: Engaging for players of almost any age, Ticket to Ride is great fun. The rules are simple, but deciding what plays to make in any specific game situation remains interesting and enjoyable for years. **CATAN**: In this game players act as competitive settlers. They acquire resources, trade them with other players, and build and develop their holdings on the island of Catan. Players gain victory points as their settlements grow. A feature that makes it easy to enjoy this game over and over is that the island is different for every game. It consists of hexagonal terrain tiles that can connect in any order. **CARCASSONNE**: Players take turns placing tiles to build a land with cities, farms, roads, and cloisters. They earn points by claiming and completing those things. This game remains enjoyable, time after time, for years. All are invited to come to the Lodge as guests of Virginia Colin. Please make sure that she signs you in. Drinks and good quality bar food will be available for purchase. Salads, onion rings, and sweet potato fries are recommended by many of us.
