Heyho and welcome to our cozy Science Fiction Circle which is part of the Social Book Club! We meet every month to discuss one book (or short story). This time we read the German novel **"Metropolis" (1925) by Thea von Harbou**, which was the basis for the Fritz Lang silent movie from 1927. We are happy to host our event for the first time in the **Villa Fantastica**, a fantastic library in the 13th district of Vienna. Due to the opening hours, the event will take place on Thursday evening this time.

📖 Time to revisit our classic format and **talk about a great book** again🤩! At our May event, we'll discuss **Vivienne Ming's** “***Robotproof: When Machines Have All The Answers, Build Better People***”. Vivienne is is an American theoretical neuroscientist and artificial intelligence expert, and a self-professed Professional Mad Scientist. Her life and work are both extraordinary, and her latest book provides an actionable framework for rising above the “*the homogenized, vanilla world associated with AI”* (Forbes). There’s lots to mull over, get inspired by, and take home from her writing - so don’t hesitate and join the discussion! Don’t worry if life is too busy to read a whole book: It is absolutely not mandatory. We’ll provide enough information so everyone can learn something and connect insights to their own thinking and experiences. Gayme Night is our cozy board games hangout for the queer community and friends. Hi Running fellows, Whether you’re a walker, new to running, a semi-pro, a marathonist or a sprint star - if you want to start your weekend in an active way and enjoy the outdoors in lovely surroundings with a fun, international and multilingual group of people, you are welcome to join us! Every Saturday at 9:30 am, we meet, we run, in the magnificent Schönbrunn park, and then we go for breakfast. Want to discuss politics or the best recipes for banana pancakes? Not a problem. Not feeling social? Tune out with your earbuds - we can talk over breakfast. We are casual. You can be too. What to expect: Start by meeting Adrian, Ali, Liz, Paul and Sonia on-time at 9:30am outside the Schönbrunn U-Bahn stop (exit Grünbergstraße). (Coordinates: 48.1858130, 16.3200640) From there, we walk to the side park entrance where the “running” part begins. The important thing is that you run at your own pace. Typically, small groups of people will run at the same pace as you, so you never have to walk/run alone :) We finish one hour later, at about 10:40am, reconvening just inside the Hietzinger Tor exit. Day DJ is a weekly series at Villa Vida Café where local DJs take over the space and share their sound in a daytime setting. The series focuses on new talent, experimentation, and community. It creates a low-pressure environment where DJs can develop ideas, shape their sound, and connect with people through music. The format is intentionally relaxed and accessible. Visitors are welcome to come by to listen, work, meet friends, have coffee, or stay for the entire set. Day DJ aims to create an ongoing platform where local DJs can grow their practice while contributing to Vienna’s queer and underground music culture. **DJ Von Habicht** DJ Von Habicht’s style and message are being shaped by the impressions of the queer and underground world, as well as by the search for freedom in the deepest waves of electronic music. Through a psychedelic journey with an immersive and groovy selection of techno, trance, and tech house elements, a message emerges: the search for liberation is inevitable and there is always a storytelling behind every piece of art. DJs have always played an important role in queer culture. In spaces where queer people were excluded or unsafe, DJs helped create environments where identity, expression, connection, and experimentation could exist. Many of the foundations of modern nightlife — including house, disco, and club culture — emerged from queer communities, especially Black and Latinx scenes. Welcome to Casual Boardgames, where we enjoy classic tabletop games and social deduction games while bonding over good food, drinks, and great conversations. 
We started this group to meet new people and make new friends, and bonding over games in a relaxed atmosphere is a great way to do that. We currently meet near route 23 and Polaris Parkway, and this is close to areas like Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and parts of Westerville and Columbus. 
Feel free to bring your own games or play one of the many games our members bring. If you are inexperienced, we will help you learn. 
Here are just a few examples of the kind of games we play. 
Tabletop/board games: Splendor, Catan, Azul, Dominion, 7 Wonders… 
Social deduction games: Code Names, Chameleon, Werewords… 
IMPORTANT: 
1. While we love playing a variety of games and competing, we are not just about the games. We interact and talk while playing, and this leads to a lot of laughter and fun. If you just want to compete and focus solely on the game, then this is probably not the group you are looking for. 
2. Many people join groups like this and never (or rarely) show up after weeks or months. If you join and never really come, we will eventually remove you from the group as a courtesy to our members. Why? Because limiting group conversations (on the app) to regular members makes communication and planning much easier. Also, while it may be rare, it protects members from people who join because they are interested in following a person instead of having a real interest in our group. If you get removed, it is just because you haven’t come, and we follow this protocol as a courtesy to our regular game players.
