Shanty Singing at the William Morris Pub
First Wednesday of every month, upstairs at the William Morris Pub. Free entry and house drinks are half price between 6pm and 7pm. We sing three sets of eight songs, plus a few requests. We hand out chorus sheet books to all guests, and get 90% audience participation by way of them joining in singing the choruses.
The pub has its own kitchen downstairs and cooks good quality reasonably priced food, which looks good and smells good, just like us.
The pub is situated in picturesque Merton Abbey Mills on the River Wandle, only ten minutes walk from Colliers Wood tube station.

Community Special Chanting event with Nikki Slade – 7th January 2026
Join us for a vibrant Kirtan chanting event with Nikki Slade accompanied by Alys Hennessey In aid of **local charities.**
**Come and chant your hearts out and make a difference to your community.**
Chanting cleanses the mind lifts the spirits and opens the heart. It is a powerful way to connect to our inner divine nature and expand the joy within. You don't have to follow a particular tradition or all are welcome. Many say that Kirtan is the easier way to meditate due to having a mantra to repeat accompanied by heartful melody and rhythm. You don’t have to be a singer to chant.Just bring your voice just the way it is and we will go on a journey together.
Nikki will accompany the chants with harmonium and drum and we will merge our voices together and experience the bliss of this practice.

All You Need is a Laugh
Thirty years ago, a medical doctor in India, Dr Madan Kataria, created Laughter Yoga, a process of guided breathing exercises combined with simple, easy movements, to liberate laughter. You don’t need to feel happy to benefit from the release of endorphins that accompany the exercises. The body doesn't know the difference between fake and real laughter. All the benefits are the same. This is laughter not as comedy but as a practice.

Our primary groups are outdoor movement groups, but we are launching virtual groups for the state of Ohio and beyond and the groups will move outside in the spring, creating room for men's groups, women's groups and coed groups all over the country.

**HOW IT WORKS**
**Step 1: Bring a topic**
Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event.
**Step 2: Circle up & share**
We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds.
**Step 3: Walk, talk & float**
We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!"
**Step 4: Feel more alive**
