Cocktails & Collage Night: A Hygge Creative Workshop
Escape the winter chill and immerse yourself in an evening of creativity, conversation, and coziness. Join us for a **Cocktails & Collage** a seasonal gathering that celebrates Danish *hygge* through drinks and imaginative art-making.
Set in a contemporary art gallery turned into a creative studio for the night, you’ll begin with a delicious cocktail or a glass of wine and even alcohol-free option will be available.
Once you test our cocktails you can settle into a candlelit workspace stocked with vintage magazines, colorful papers, fabrics, and other tactile treasures. A collage artist will guide the group through a meditative cut-and-paste flow where you’ll create a visual piece rooted in seasonal themes like winter coziness, Copenhagen memories, or dream landscapes.
Whether you come with friends or on your own, this cozy and creative evening will leave you inspired, relaxed, and ready for winter.
The bar will keep open for those who want to explore more of our cocktail menu
Note: The event is free but does not include the drinks

**This is a recurring event!**
*The subjects and questions we practice on, depend on the attendees and their needs. However, here are some things that are usually worked on, in these meetings. *
**Event Highlights:**
* **Group Mock Interviews**: Break into small groups of 2-3 participants to practice with each other, taking turns as interviewer and interviewee.

Meditation Beyond the Mind–A Direct Experience (+free authentic oriental food)
What happens when the mind becomes quiet enough to reveal something deeper?
In this session we explore meditation not just as a technique, but as an experience. When the usual mental activity slows down, many people discover a surprising sense of clarity, stillness, and awareness that feels very different from ordinary thinking.
This evening is designed to let you explore that shift directly. Rather than focusing on theory, the emphasis is on experiencing what becomes possible when attention turns inward and the mind settles.
If you are curious about what meditation can reveal beyond relaxation or concentration, this session invites you to explore it for yourself.
Come with curiosity — the experience will speak for itself.
After the event, authentic oriental cuisine will be served free of charge for up to 10 participants. Participants are invited to stay, enjoy dinner, and continue the conversation in a relaxed atmosphere.
Please sign up only if you plan to attend. We organize the event and prepare dinner based on the number of participants. If you are unable to come, please cancel your registration as soon as possible so someone else can sign up.
IMPORTANT:
Please bring something comfortable to sit on for meditation.
A yoga mat, a cushion to sit on, and pillows or support for your knees can make sitting on the floor much more comfortable. Bring whatever helps you sit relaxed for a longer time. If sitting on the floor is difficult for you, chairs will also be available.
Café Philo Copenhagen
We meet on Saturdays late mornings to have a casual, meaningful conversation on topics of interest to everyone chosen on the spot by majority voting. So please feel free to propose your own topic!
Everyone is welcome to talk, but if you prefer to just join and listen, that is perfect too.
As the contacted cafés usually only give reservations to eating guests, it is very welcome if you order something to eat during our stay. This is however not mandatory.
This event is in English.

The meetup lasts 2 full hours with optional overtime
Before starting, you can find our table and leave your things so Lou can grab a drink at the café.
Once we are all seated, we introduce ourselves and start cutting and pasting.
• 1s hour- the first round of collage is called freestyle to help us warm up. No restrictions, start finding images to cut out and paste.
• 2nd hour - for the second round, someone proposes some simple "trigger instructions".
In the end, we show our collages and appreciate the diversity of styles.
• After the session, we have the option to extend it a bit to get a drink or some food we can bring or order food so we can hang out a bit more. (Mellemrummet is very relaxing regarding bringing your own food from home or other venues; there is a poke place right in front.)
Everyone is free to do fewer or more collages as wished, the triggers and frameworks are only a reference. We dedicate some time to appreciating techniques, shapes, colours, and textures to learn and get inspired by each other. Alongside, we chat and relax.
These sessions are not a class but rather a community gathering. We try to nurture a friendly atmosphere and take care of each other.
--
Logistics:
• Bring your tools - paper, scrapbook, scissors, cutter, glue, tape, magazines, books, etc. Have it at your side on the day.
• Buy your favourite drink and introduce yourself to the rest of the people, we are kind of an international mix of all ages.

Personal development discussion: 3 topics to choose, topics in description
ENG
The topics we will vote to discuss are Emotional presence / mindfulness, Apathy / indifference and Emotional saturation.
1 emotion topics and 2 personal challenges topic to vote for discussion.
We will try as a group of random people to sit down and talk about emotions or personal challenges. Not necessarily to find a solution or an improvement, but to share perspectives and maybe discover new perspectives.
Some people like to talk, some like to listen, at the start of each event, declare if you would prefer to participate in the discussion or prefer to listen in and chime in with an occasional question.
If only danish speaking people are coming we will speak danish, if there are non danish speaking people coming we will speak English.
DK
The Philosophy of HAPPINESS (!) — From Buddha to Brain Scans! We will explore...
**“The Philosophy of Happiness (!) — From Buddha to Brain Scans”**
Meaning, Pleasure, Discipline, Faith, and What It Means to Live Well
Everyone wants to be happy—but no one seems to agree on what that actually means. Is happiness inner peace or external success? Pleasure or purpose? Detachment, discipline, faith, or self-optimization? Across history, cultures, and now science, radically different answers compete for our attention.
This isn’t a self-help workshop or a mindfulness class. It’s a philosophical conversation about happiness as an idea, a practice, and a social goal.
***
**Topics we’ll touch on:**
* Buddha and the end of suffering: desire, attachment, and liberation
* Stoicism: control, resilience, and emotional discipline
* Hedonism: pleasure, limits, and whether “more” ever satisfies
* Religion and happiness: salvation, meaning, and transcendence
* Modern self-help: empowerment, illusion, or coping strategy?
* What does science say? Brains, dopamine, habits, and well-being data
* Can a society be “happy”—and should happiness be a political goal?
* And finally… is happiness something to pursue, cultivate, accept—or stop chasing altogether?
Casual discussion. No philosophical or scientific background required—just curiosity and lived experience. Whether you feel content, restless, skeptical, or searching—you’re not alone.
Let’s explore happiness not as a slogan—but as one of humanity’s oldest and hardest questions.

Fun social afternoon run
Join us for a trail run/jog/walk!
We are not a typical running club, so please read about the concept in “about us”.
How it works: we don’t know in advance where the trail will go, but we know it will be fun! A member of the club, the 'hare', sets a trail, usually marked with flour. The rest of us, the 'pack', follows the hare's 'scent', i.e., the marks. There will be a 8-10 km trail for runners with shortcuts down to 5-6 km for walkers and those who need a slower pace. We have no set pace - run/walk as slow or as fast as you'd like. After the run we enjoy some refreshments and socialize.
Come a few minutes before the start so that you can say hi and leave your bag in a designated bag car before we set off at 14:30.
Don’t worry if there are few registrations on Meetup. We have existed for 44 years, and a lot of our members (anywhere from 20 to 50 people) just show up.
Four-legged friends are welcome!
We never cancel.
See you there!
From Platform to Purchase: How We Start Investing
This session is a follow-up to our last meetup and is shaped by the questions and topics participants asked for — but everyone is very welcome to join, whether you attended the previous session or not.
We’ll explore together:
* How investing platform works and what to pay attention to
* What to check before buying a security (and what you can ignore as a beginner)
* The topics you’re most interested in, with space to ask questions and guide the discussion
The session is designed to be practical, open, and discussion-driven, and we’ll make sure the content meets the interests and level of the people in the room.
No prior knowledge required — curiosity is enough.

This month we will be discussing **Frank Santoro**, an American cartoonist, painter, and comics critic known for his expressive lines, experimental page layouts, and vibrant use of color. His graphic novels—including *Storeyville*, *Pompeii*, and *Pittsburgh*—blend personal storytelling with innovative visual structure, often exploring memory, place, and relationships. In addition to his comics, Santoro has been an influential voice in comics education and criticism, co-founding the magazine *ComicsComics* and creating the **Santoro Correspondence Course for Comic Book Makers**, which has helped train and inspire a new generation of cartoonists.
Afterwards, we will have time to work on our individual art projects, hang out, and if anyone is interested in feedback on their work, there will be time for that as well.
