Mystery Salon at Baumhaus: Earth, Elements & Sacred Nature
This special earth day edition of the mystery salon will dive into our understanding of and relationship to nature. Through a mixture of storytelling, discussion, and integration exercises we will be diving into the myths and legends that first governed indigenous beliefs around earth, elements and sacred nature- and how these have evolved over time into our modern experience. Covering topics that touch on the elements- and the power of nature, herbs, and sacred medicine- the focus of this salon is to examine our connection to nature, and how we may live back in balance again with nature.
As a special bonus we will have a small sampling of refreshments available to experience a sensual and grounding journey of all the wonderful gifts the earth has to offer- as well as a tea bar at the end for you to make your own personal tea blend to bring home. We hope you leave this evening with a renewed connection & appreciation for the natural world around you.
Door open at 7:00 pm, event starts at 7:30 pm.
We will have light refreshments and drinks available for a small donation.
This event is donation/contribution based to make it accessible for all. Recommended donation is 10-15 euros
Please note meetup registration is capped at 10 participants- but we have room for more! To secure your spot please [pre-register here.](https://rausgegangen.de/en/events/mystery-salon-at-baumhaus-earth-elements-sacred-nature-0/)
We recommend bringing a notebook or journal. We welcome perspectives and input of all kinds- whether you are a novice or expert- all levels are welcome- perhaps we can learn something from you?
This salon is part of a special event series taking place at various location throughout Berlin. Every Wednesday in April we gather for intellectual discussion around a range of topics at the intersection of spirituality, science, and self-improvement.
We can't wait to welcome you there!

Come along, grab a coffee, shut up, and write! We will do at least two sessions of each 45 minutes of writing and two breaks. We will start the first writing session at 10:15.
For space reasons, we are limited to a certain number of attendees, so please update your RSVP if you can't come. We are typically by the large windows facing the U-Bahn entrance.
If you are new, come and say hello, as we know that suddenly going quiet for 45 minutes and staring at that blank page can be intimidating when it's your first time. We have a lot of long-term regulars who will be happy to help you feel welcome.

Plaster Painting Workshop: Texture & Tension
Beginner-friendly plaster & pigment workshop exploring texture, layering, and sculptural painting.
**About the Workshop**
Texture & Tension is a contemporary abstract art workshop focused on working with plaster, pigment, and layered surfaces.
Rather than copying a finished image, participants explore how material, pressure, and restraint shape an artwork.
You'll begin with small experimental surfaces to understand how plaster behaves — how thickness, carving, scraping, and layering create tension in a composition.
From there, you'll move to your final canvas and develop your own abstract piece.
The workshop is guided but open-ended, allowing each participant to discover their own visual language through material exploration.
Expect a calm studio environment with focused making, quiet music, and natural light.
No prior experience is required.
**What This Workshop Is (and Isn't)**
V Open to complete beginners
V Focused on contemporary abstraction
V Guided, but not step-by-step imitation V Calm, serious studio atmosphere
× Not a paint & wine night
× Not decorative crafting
× Not about "talent"
**What It Feels Like**
You'll begin by experimenting with plaster and pigment on small test surfaces, discovering how thickness, texture, and pressure change the result.
Then you'll move to your final canvas.
You'll layer.
You'll carve.
You'll subtract.
You'll decide when to stop.
The room stays focused and steady. Music low.
Natural light. Hands moving.
You don't need to know what you're making in advance.
The surface will guide you.
**Workshop Structure**
Material Exploration
Test plaster textures, palette knife techniques, and pigment mixing.
Surface Construction
Build raised areas, embed material, and create depth.
Subtraction & Tension
Scrape back. Carve lines. Reveal lower layers.
Learn how restraint creates strength.
A Moment to Pause
We close with a short silent viewing.
You'll see how differently everyone approached the same material.
There is no critique.
Only observation.
What You'll Leave With
• One textured abstract artwork on canvas
• Experience working with plaster and pigment
• A deeper understanding of texture in contemporary abstraction
April Book Club: H & the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie
We'll come together at a cosy cafe to discuss S. Marai's novel Embers. Before RSVPing yes, ask yourself-
Do I have a copy of the book?
Can I be there at that place and time?
Looking forward to our discussion! :)
Also if you would like to join our Whatsapp group to vote on books, please talk to Sneha at the meeting. :)
LITERATURKREIS PANKOW
Kreative Schreibwerkstatt in Kreuzberg (14:30 Uhr!)
72, nahe U-Bhf Moritzplatz.**
**Was dich erwartet:**
The Mindful Artist's Way: Share Your Story
The Mindful Artist's Way is suitable for anyone who wants to write — without pressure, comparison, or the need for perfection. For anyone who wants to discover their own voice or reconnect with it.
This workshop series treats your writing as a mindful and relationship-oriented process. Each session is an invitation to dive deeper into your own perception, voice, and creativity — without pressure to perform, without comparison, without right or wrong.
The focus is on writing as a mindful practice: slow, embodied, and connected. Instead of technique, performance, or optimization, it’s about perception, inner security, and the relationship to your own voice.
Each workshop is self-contained and at the same time part of a larger journey. Step by step, you are invited to build trust: in yourself, in your writing, and in the creative process.
The series is inspired by the mindful and artistic approaches of Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way, but follows its own path: gentle, individual, and realistic. Get to know your writing as a partner rather than just a product.
What to bring: All you need is your laptop or whatever else you want to write on. I have pens, paper, tea, and vegan cake for you. If you like, bring your headphones, because I’ve created an exclusive writing playlist for you.
You can also book the **sessions individually (€15)**

Pop-up Book Club 3: The Ballad of The Sad Café, by Carson McCullers
Let’s meet and share our thoughts about Carson McCullers’ novella, The Ballad of The Sad Café.
City Lights (1931)
"The SOB is a ballet dancer. He’s the best ballet dancer that ever lived, and if I get a good chance I’ll kill him with my bare hands." - W.C. Fields
In *City Lights*, Chaplin's Little Tramp meets a blind girl selling flowers who mistakes him for a wealthy man. When he learns that an operation may restore her sight, he sets off to earn the money she needs to have the surgery. He also befriends an alcoholic millionaire who only recognizes him when he is drunk. When the blind girl and her grandmother fall behind in the rent and face eviction, he tries working and even enters a boxing competition to raise the money they need.
Regarded as Chaplin's masterpiece, *City Lights* has been ranked on more than seventeen "100 greatest movies of all time" lists. Orson Welles cited it as his favorite picture.
*City Lights* is available for streaming on Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBOMax, Tubi and PlutoTV. The Columbus Library lists three copies on blu-ray and eight copies on DVD. Watch the movie on your own, then join us upstairs at East Market to discuss the film.
If you want more, *Unknown Chaplin* is a three-episode lost-footage documentary available on Youtube. It covers his time on *City Lights* beginning at the twenty-six minute mark of episode two: https://youtu.be/f8960Uc15hI?t=1558
