Urban Krav Maga is a defence system that: The Urban Krav Maga aim is to equip the student as soon as possible to defend themselves against the most common attacks they may face. Once the student has mastered these techniques more difficult scenarios are addressed to build a support system that will enable the student to deal with almost any situation. By teaching concepts through techniques, students are taught how to read a situation and react/respond accordingly, even if they have not experienced that exact same scenario in training. Giving students the ability to improvise is an important element of our training, this is not like learning a kata. Awareness, avoidance and pre-emption are placed high in order of priority but we recognise that you can’t always avoid a potential violent encounter. We teach everything that is needed for self defence when it’s necessary in all environments, including, highly confined, crowded spaces, cars, shopping centres, nightclubs, buses etc. We make no apologies for our civilian approach to street violence and our subsequent breakaway from the original military solutions in dealing with armed attackers: a knife defence based on somebody attacking like they were making a committed bayonet thrust will not be so effective as one that is based on somebody stabbing with an aggressive pumping/piston motion with fast recoil when we are dealing with today’s street. In this lesson you'll learn the techniques of Chen Style Tai Chi movements. Chen style Tai Chi (陳式太極) is a more active form of Tai Chi with much faster and explosive power movements emulate a more realistic application of the martial arts techniques You need to be physically fit to practise this style with a balance between hard and soft, fast and slow, and able to learn the fast, explosive movements. Chen style Tai Chi (陳式太極) is the original Tai Chi style reflecting its martial art origin and techniques, It is artistic and rich in combat technique, as well as characterized by soft and vigorous movements combined. It features dynamic punches, internal power and spiral force * The Chen style of Tai Chi uses some explosive and fast moves - like jump kicks. This may be out of the fitness range of some people. * If you're already fairly fit or athletically inclined (or looking for a more exciting form of Tai Chi) consider the Chen style. * The Chen style uses wide, expansive movements that can be hard on the knees and lower back muscles. I have been practicing Tai Chi continuous for ten years and hope to share and provide guidance in regular training classes.

**Daniel Neihoff** is an *emerging singer/songwriter from Paducah, KY*. He has been described as “one of the best storytelling songwriters in Nashville.” Daniel grew up in a family of songwriters, with both his father and grandmother crafting melodies and lyrics. He wrote his first song at 8 years old, surrounded by a family fit for country songs – the old kind about struggle and lonesomeness, mistakes among enduring love. The melodies and legends were all around him in his family, and it all seeped in. His accolades are impressive: he won the Kerrville New Folk Competition in 2019, was a 3-time finalist of Songwriter Serenade, placed 3rd in the Woody Guthrie songwriter contest, and won the Rocky Mountain Songwriters Contest in 2023. Neihoff has also been featured on PBS and received praise from Lori Walsh, host of In The Moment on SDPB, who said, “Daniel Neihoff, you are just what we need.” **Eryn Michel**’s songwriting walks the tightrope between real-life mess and wild imaginings—like her life, you’ll never be quite sure whether she’s singing truth, fiction, or a generous splash of both, drawn from a résumé that almost sounds made up: convoy gunner in Iraq, staffer in the Obama White House, phlebotomist, janitor, wedding planner, voice actor, and private security for a king’s granddaughter.
