Bluff Lab: Open Creativity Workshop
Bluff Lab: Open Creativity Workshop
What’s that sound? A new kind of Creativity Lab. ***Bluff Lab*** *is free to attend, with advance RSVP requested at* ***[bluffeducation.org](bluffeducation.org).*** Bluff Lab is an interdisciplinary creative workshop blending improvisation, writing, and sound-play. The lab explores *bluffing* not as deception, but as a creative tool: pretending, testing, and moving forward with or without certainty. Through structured prompts and playful constraints, participants are invited to loosen habits, bypass overthinking, and access new ways of making and collaborating. We begin with an open workshop focused on presence, listening, and creative risk-taking in a supportive group setting. In the second half of the evening, participants can join or observe a playful, guided jam using material generated during the workshop. Participation is always optional. **What to expect** • Guided exercises using voice, text, movement, and sound • Individual and group-based prompts • A relaxed, process-driven environment with optional sharing • No prior experience required **Who it’s for** Creatives and “*non-creatives*,” students, professionals, performers, musicians, and anyone curious about creative process. Understanding the speed of MotoGP with Adam Wheeler
Understanding the speed of MotoGP with Adam Wheeler
MotoGP is a mainstream championship in Spain and in many other countries in the world. Books on the series have explored the history, the icons, the technology but not many have taken the fan or follower directly into the paddock and all the personalities, engineering and psychology that goes with a motorcycle sport pushing at 225mph. Author **Adam Wheeler** will chat about how and why he wanted to present this enthralling spectacle to wider consciousness with some other journalists. **[ORDER THE BOOK HERE](https://backstorybookshop.shop/product/motorcycle-grand-prix/)** ## About the speaker: **Adam Wheeler** is an award-winning journalist who contributes to the Telegraph, edits and owns On-Track Off-Road magazine, and is part of the Paddock Pass Podcast team. He has been working in and around MotoGP for over twenty years. He lives in Barcelona. ## About the book: ***Motorcycle Grand Prix*** takes readers inside the 75-year-old FIM World Championship — not through race results and lap times, but through the human stories behind them. Each chapter tackles a separate subject, moving from riders and team managers to mechanics, doctors, physiotherapists and engineers, stitching individual perspectives into a bigger picture of what it actually takes to compete at this level. Drawing on exclusive interviews with Pecco Bagnaia, Jorge Martín, Brad Binder and Jack Miller, as well as reflections on Valentino Rossi, Marc Márquez and Cal Crutchlow, Wheeler goes well beyond the paddock gossip. The book covers talent, obsession, injury, and the extraordinary technical arms race between manufacturers — with none of the glamour and all of the reality.

CREACIÓN Y MONTAJE DE MICROTEATRO. NIVEL INTERMEDIO. GRUPO A

American novelist and screenwriter Luke Goebel will be visiting Barcelona to talk with us about his new novel KILL DICK. He will be in conversation with author Josh Denslow. Dark, satirical, and razor-sharp, Kill Dick is a modern literary thriller that unflinchingly dissects wealth, exploitation, and the perilous line between survival and self-destruction. “An insane portrait of L.A. in the vein of Easton Ellis and Didion… you never want to look away.” —Sophia June, Playboy “Captures the burning zeitgeist of our times.” —Kimberly King Parsons "A Lynch- and Kubrick-inspired portrait of Los Angeles.” —Kirkus Reviews ## About the speakers: **Luke Goebel** is an acclaimed author and screenwriter celebrated for his unflinching honesty and innovative storytelling. A recipient of the prestigious Ronald Sukenick Innovative Fiction Prize and the Joan Scott Memorial Fiction Award, his debut novel, Fourteen Stories, None of Them Are Yours, garnered critical acclaim for its innovative and precisely lyrical, profoundly resonant exploration of love, grief, and the restless search for identity. He is known as well as his role as co-editor at The New York Tyrant and work with Tyrant Books. **Josh Denslow** is the author of three books, including most recently Magic Can't Save Us.

Come for the coffee and company, or just bring a book to read while surrounded by other in-real-life, community-seeking humans. Come by every Friday, or just when you happen to be in town. Make it whatever you need it to be that week. It's not an \*event\* per se, but we hope these Friday meet-ups can become a fixture of the bookshop! Gathering spot will be in the downstairs area of the bookshop (near the Community Library). Coffee and tea are 1.50€ and can be purchased at the cash register upstairs. Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington. The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo. Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine. We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you. The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly. Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome. The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit. Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times. Feel free to message me privately wth any questions and/ or concerns you may have. Happy writing!
