The Minority Report is a weekly stand-up comedy show about identity, culture, and the expat experience. Are you a minority in Europe? Did something weird, awkward, or low-key offensive happen to you this week? This is the space to vent your feelings about it. Every week, comedians Bryan Lee and Moe Singleton take the stage to unpack life as outsiders, offering their unique commentary on topics like race, masculinity, relationships, and life between cultures. Dieser besondere Deutschkurs ist für alle, die mit Spiel und Spaß ihr Deutsch verbessern wollen. Wir sind eine kleine Gruppe (max. 15 Personen) von Deutschlernern zwischen A2 - B2 und machen Theater-Improvisation auf Deutsch. Aber keine Angst - das kann jede/jeder lernen! Der Fokus liegt vorallem auf Sprechen und Verstehen, so daß du in Alltagssituationen spontaner reagieren kannst und mit dem Sprechen auf Deutsch flüssiger wirst. Die Feier des Tages der Kosmonauten wird in diesem Jahr besonders: Am 12. April jährt sich der erste bemannte Raumflug zum 65. Mal. Anlässlich dieses bedeutenden Ereignisses wird das bevorstehende Treffen des Sprachklubs Juri Gagarin gewidmet: seiner Heldentat und seiner Persönlichkeit. Darüber hinaus stehen moderne Kosmonauten und aktuelle Raumfahrtprogramme im Mittelpunkt. Die Teilnehmer werden darüber sprechen, vor welchen Herausforderungen diese außergewöhnlich spannende Profession steht und was ihre Vertreter antreibt. Die Gäste erwartet eine spannende Diskussion über aktuelle Weltraumforschung, den Platz des Menschen im Universum und die Perspektiven, die der Menschheit bei der Erforschung des Weltraums offenstehen.

We are free and curious humans, try to practice patience, kindness, humanity, etc, and have the freedom to read any book of the world, including the Gospels. **Join us for outdoor grass volleyball in Hasenheide park!** This event is not suitable for complete beginners. We play with two nets. The "chill court" is for mixed-level play with 3v3 up to 5v5. The "competitive court" is for higher-level 2v2 play with beach rules. Be sure to wear suitable sports clothing and perhaps bring a drink. There are no facilities such as changing rooms and showers in the park. A nearby public toilet is also available, but it might be closed, dirty, or not have toilet paper. **Location**: We play in the narrow clearing, located between the two paths in the center of Hasenheide park, on the southern side. **Skip the "What do you do?" and get to the good stuff.** Most nights out are stuck in the shallows. We’re changing that. This is a relaxed evening for mature adults who want to skip the boring pleasantries and jump straight into interesting, unfiltered conversation. We keep it low-pressure but intentional. To get things moving, we’ll use a simple games (e.g. a round of "Two Truths and an Unpopular Opinion)" to break the ice. We also have prepared some cards to spark deeper dialogue, just in case. Let´s move past the masks we wear at work or in "polite company" to find out what people actually think and feel. Expect a room of nice, like-minded people who have lived a bit and have stories to tell. It’s fun, it’s social, and it’s a refreshing break from standard networking. To keep things intentional and avoid no-shows, we may ask for a small €5 commitment fee. But don’t worry — your first drink will be on us. Through the structured sharing of experiences, loneliness becomes visible, discussable, and therefore open to change. Through facilitated interaction, shifts in perspective, small experiments in experiencing contact, and shared reflection, participants develop new forms of connectedness and strategies for social effectiveness. The group functions not only as a source of support, but also as a learning environment for shaping relationships. Come assist Van Buren Shelter (https://ymcacolumbus.org/locations/vanburen) staff in serving dinners and cleaning up on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Dinner for the women is 5-6 pm and for the families is 6:15-7:15 pm. There is ample free parking available in the shelter's lot. The recommended area to park is in green in the image above. There will be a new entrance for the time being. We are asking all volunteers to enter through the Donation Dock door, the orange mark on the image above. This door is located between the Single Adults and Family Shelter. You will see 2 large garage doors with a large green trash compactor in the center. Please head to the closest garage door to the building wall, with a ramp leading up. There, you will see a door with a sign stating instructions on how to enter the building. Please ring the doorbell, and a staff member will come and escort you into the building. If a staff member takes longer than 5 minutes, please call the front desk at 614-689-2020. This is a new process for us, and we do not want to keep you waiting! We appreciate your patience as we navigate this temporary change. The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change. Unchained At Last's mission clearly meshes and addresses several of our Humanist Ten Commitments. Becca will educate us about an issue many of us may not be familiar with--but should be. Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “create a better world” by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:20am and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking is available in the surrounding area.
