Auditioning Practice for Actors

Ever thought, "I like writing, but sometimes I wish I could create stories with people instead of alone"? In this meetup we'll be taking a little creative jaunt together. In small groups we'll be creating basic character sketches together and then we'll play around with these characters in stories with a little bit of randomness, perspective shifts and prompting. It's going to be a mix of a lot of talking and a bit of writing. Mostly, it's going to be fun, collaborative and pretty fast-paced. Because we're building each step of this together, there's no "minimum requirement" for writing or storytelling experience. You just need to be keen to be collaborative and imaginative with other people. There's a thought-out set of guidelines to steer us for the event, so you don't have to worry about what to do and can just focus on being creative. I'll bring everything you need, so you don't need to bring anything. We'll start at **15h00 sharp -** so please get to Cafe Augusta earlier; I'll be there from 14h30. We'll be done by 16h00. ## You like drawing but find portraits challenging? ### **You just need the right process!** Then this workshop is for YOU! And for anyone who wishes to explore realistic pencil portrait drawing from photographic references through a structured method, and wants to learn or refine pencil hatching and shading techniques. The workshop is designed for a small group, allowing a flexible and supportive approach, adapting to each participant’s level: from guiding beginners to helping intermediate artists tackle their personal creative challenges. Without the pressure of the final result, we will focus on learning the method and enjoying the creative process. I am Alessia Sinopoli, an Italian professional artist based in Berlin, and I will be your instructor throughout this journey. ### What we'll do step by step We’ll combine theory and practice: * Practice targeted observation to select the best reference photo * Use the grid method for accurate proportions and create a preliminary sketch * Understand the differences between pencils of various hardness and get familiar with the materials we’ll use * Master shading (the real magic!) with hatching techniques to shape volume and depth * Train your observational skills to recognize different tonal values * Explore changing perspectives to refresh your vision * Discuss common mistakes and learn how to avoid them * Participate in an open Q&A, receive personalized tips, and get feedback throughout the process * Learn how to preserve and protect your finished portrait ### Breaks and Refreshments While drawing, we’ll enjoy some tea. This group is for everyone who is interested in drawing portraits! For me, drawing has been a wonderful way to gain a new perspective on the world and the people within it. Whether you are just starting out or have been drawing for ages — all levels are welcome :) How it works: 1\. We meet at The Castle pub in Mitte and do short sittings of 15 minutes for each other\. The first sitting is divided into 3 warm\-up sketches\, 5 minutes each\. 2\. Before we start\, everybody writes their name on a blank card \(provided by the organizer\); these cards are then used to randomly pick the model every 15 minutes\. 3\. Usually we do 8 sittings\, with a 15\-minute break in the middle \(so after 4 sittings\, or 1 hour\)\. -> The participation is free, but it is expected that everybody orders something from the bar to support the lovely location. Get out your pencils and let's start! Please bring your own art supplies!

We meet and sketch each other in Berlin. This is just an art gym that we also exercise our social skills. Afterwards usually we go for lunch as a group. **How Does It Work?** This event is simple, we meet and sketch each other doing portraits. Most of the participants use pencils or watercolors. Main aim is to socialize while we draw. There will be plenty of time to talk and get to know each other. We have to mention that this event is suitable for all levels. Many have started to draw in our event actually. **Structure** A. Warmup Phase: We pose to each other for 1 minute. B. Main Phase: We pose to each other for 10 minutes. C.
