ZH3 Hash #1709: FURrari CARnival Hash
Hi all, Team Ferrari, or part of it invites you to the lovely city of Schlieren to celebrate the Fasnacht season in great style: Dig in to those kellers and pull out those FURRY Onesies, it's cold and it's Carnival, they need to come out of retirement.
DRESS CODE: Animal Onesie, or just a Onesie, or just an animal. You can even wear your birthday suit, for all we care, but join us to conquer those woods and the beer that comes afterwards.
BAG DROP: Mobility Car near Schlieren bahnhof, Zürchestrasse 7, schlieren.
Hared by Team Ferrari.
**Where**:
See location. Typically within Zurich Zone 10. Look for English speakers wearing running gear.
**When:**
We'll meet at 6:50 pm to start at 7:00 pm.
There's a charge of CHF 5 for participating, which covers all you can drink beer/cider (and non-alcoholic alternatives) plus snacks afterwards.
**All Welcome:**
If you are new, curious, and want to get out of the house, stretch your legs, talk shit, enjoy a drink, and hopefully a laugh, then here's what you need to know:
• We are a social running/walking group, physical fitness is not required, but a sense of humour is useful.
• The aim is to find the '*Beer Stop*' at the end of the '*trail*' and have fun.
• 'True Trail' is typically 4-7 km. Some will go less (especially those walking or walk/running), and some over-achieving fast runners will go further.
• The '*Hare*', which changes each event (along with location), cleverly lays the trail (typically with flour marks) so that everyone reaches the end at the same time.
• There is always a place to deposit your bag and sometimes a place to change.
• **After Trail**, we group for \~20-40 minutes for drinks, snacks, and some fun. This '*Circle*' is typically outside, so leave something warm in your bag in winter (and bring a flashlight when it's dark). If you don't want to stand around drinking afterwards, you can head home. We occasionally all go to a restaurant afterwards.
**Why bother leaving your warm & dry sofa?**
If you enjoy getting outside, being around people, and doing something a bit different, you will probably enjoy hashing. Exercise is important, and this is probably the least boring way to get it.
'Hashing' and the idea of some physical activity to work up a thirst, have been around for almost 90 years and there are groups (*Hashes*) in most major cities. Its humor and 'traditions' can be explored on the internet - **or you can just come along and find out.** *See you there.*
We are of many nationalities, all ages, full of misfits and idiots (at least there is no one taking themselves seriously!) and always welcome newbies 'Virgin Hashers' and visitors from other groups.

https://chat.whatsapp.com/LGzReBVGyfa3VM3qVGLEUU?mode=ac_t
The actual number of players is on WhatsApp.

Saturday morning kick about. Aim to play on small pitches, 6v6, 7v7 or 8v8. If you have bibs or a football please bring it along. The field is artificial grass.
Meet in Juchhof in any of the 3 pitches depending on availability.
Please remove yourself from the RSVP list by 17:00 on Friday so any waitlist players have enough time to plan to play. If you RVSP and fail to attend you will be removed from the group.

Lunar New Year Walk: Brooklyn to Queens Chinatown - 20miles
Our epic 20 mile Lunar New Year walk is back! Celebrate the Year of the Horse with the Shorewalkers as we journey from Sunset Park Chinatown in Brooklyn to Flushing Chinatown in Queens - two of NYC's most vibrant Chinese communities.
**When**: Sunday February 22, 2026; start at 9:30am
**Where**: Outside 8 Ave subway station in Brooklyn, N train, take 8 Ave exit
**Distance**: 20 miles, point to point from Brooklyn Chinatown to Queens Chinatown, approx. 7-8 hours
Brisk pace, some hills and stairs
**Walk details:**
We will start this Lunar New
Year walk in **Brooklyn's Chinatown on 8 Ave**, also
called Sunset Park's Chinatown. It is one of the
largest and fastest growing ethnic Chinese enclaves outside of Asia.
We will walk along 8 Ave's festive Lunar New Year decorations and bustling markets.
On our way we will walk through some of our favorite
parks: Sunset Park, Prospect Park, Highland Park, Forest Park and Flushing Meadows.
Also, discover some lesser known neighborhoods, like East Flatbush and Brownsville
Our walk will end in **Flushing Queens**, which has the largest Chinese population in the city and, in fact, outside of
Asia. It also is a true American fusion where you can find
everything from McDonalds to Chinese seafood restaurants
and from Starbucks to bubble tea cafes. Those interested can join us after the walk at a food court where you can purchase food & drinks. Bring cash!
Bring lunch (no purchase at lunch spot possible) and plenty of water.
Many dropout points along the route.
