Sahaja Yoga is a unique form of meditation that will enable you to connect with your deeper self, establishing a higher awareness within you resulting in a deep feeling of peace, calmness, balance, and joy.
It is a tangible practical experience: Sahaja Yoga is “Subtle, Simple and Real”.
It was founded by HH Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi ( 1923-2011) and has at its core the process of Self Realisation: connecting with your real Self through the awakening of the dormant energy in our sacrum bone called Kundalini who takes us into the deep peaceful state of thoughtless awareness.
In the class, we will go through the process of Self Realisation and learn how to achieve the state of meditation effortlessly. Also, we will learn about balancing our subtle system, how to diagnose and solve our problems, and how to meditate at home.
Sahaja Yoga helps all aspects of our life: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual, it is an extraordinary method, unique from any other types of meditations as it uses our own energy Kundalini who can correct our chakras, balance us, and take us to a much higher and deeper state of awareness.
We do not need mats, we sit on chairs, it is easy and simple, Sahaja means spontaneous in Sanskrit, it is for all cultures, ages, religions, and backgrounds.
There are free meetings all over London and the UK and also in more than 100 countries.
If you are looking for well-being, harmony, and solving your problems, you want to get out of confusion, and mental health problems you are looking for answers then you are in the right place.
Come along and try, no need to sign up, beginners are welcome anytime.
**“Sahaja Yoga is a method by which our Pure Desire is fulfilled“ (from the founder Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi)**

**KEY PROJECT: TRADITIONALLY STITCHED AND SEWN EDGED FOOTSTOOL**
*All of our upholstery classes are for absolute beginners. It doesn’t matter which one you choose to take first. Each technique that is offered is part of all the processes that every upholsterer has to learn.*
6-week workshop. Thursday nights. 6:30pm – 9pm.
A perfect course for a beginner. Jumpstart your knowledge of traditional upholstery skills and methods.
Over six Thursday evenings, experienced upholsterers will guide you through the wonderful world of upholstery and help you build a fabulous footstool using traditional methods. You can leave your project at the centre in between classes.
Before the advent of foam in the middle of the twentieth century, the only way to make wooden seats more comfortable was to build up layers using available materials. Our small fabric footstool (above) is built from layers of woven webbing, hessian, vegetable fibre, animal hair and calico and is sewn with specialist needles and stitches. Although this method is more labour-intensive than the modern method of using foam, it is much longer lasting and preferred in more expensive pieces of furniture. This is the method used in many traditional chair seats, so once learned, you can apply this method to your own projects.
We provide everything for the workshop, from the wood frame to the set of natural beech wood legs that are included for you to paint or stain as you wish. Choose from our selection of top fabrics, or bring your own. You will need about a metre of fabric and you will not need it until the final class. The use of all tools and materials is included. We also have a selection of specialist upholstery tools and all the materials that we use in our workshops for sale at the Goodlife Centre for you to continue your new hobby at home.
Beginners welcome.
This course is run on a Thursday evening over 6 consecutive weeks. 6:30pm – 9:00pm

Script Readthrough and Pre-production Meeting
This is a script read-through and pre-production meeting for our next project, DEAD RINGER.
We will spend the first half of the evening reading through the script and the second assigning crew roles for the shoot.
As I write, there are currently two characters yet to be cast as well, and the writer / director will be there on the night so you could well be talent-spotted.
We are an established group, but we have a limited number of slots available for newcomers for this evening, so if you haven't been before, please consider coming along. To be part of the shoot, you would need to commit to several saturdays over the summer.
Food and drink is available at the bar and helps to subsidise our room hire rates.
As ever, as you enter the bar, ask for Days' End Films and the staff will direct you to the meeting room.

Learn how to take body measurements, read and alter a commercial pattern to fit, lay out and cut fabric and construct a finished garment to a high standard using one of our Janome 525s or Bernina 1008 series sewing machines.
During the sessions of this small group of learners you will gain confidence and improve any sewing skills you already have.
If you have never used a machine, we can guide you through making a simple garment from a purchased pattern. Bring your own pattern or use one of our small selection.
If you have sewing experience but want to start creating your own patterns, you can learn how to create a bespoke piece of clothing. You can also bring a piece of clothing to alter or fix.
We supply the basics and the calico you will use to make a ‘toile’ (an inexpensive mock up) to save you ruining your chosen final fabric.

The Berry Pickers by Amanda Peters | Girlies Who Read ✨
One family’s deepest pain. Another family’s darkest secret.
On a hot day in 1960s Maine, six-year-old Joe watches his little sister Ruthie, sitting on her favourite rock at the edge of the blueberry fields, while their family, Mi’kmaq people from Nova Scotia, pick fruit. That afternoon, Ruthie vanishes without a trace. As the last person to see her, Joe will be forever haunted by grief, guilt, and the agony of imagining how his life could have been.
In an affluent suburb nearby, Norma is growing up as the only child of unhappy parents. She is smart, precocious, and bursting with questions she isn’t allowed to ask – questions about her missing baby photos; questions about her dark skin; questions about the strange, vivid dreams of campfires and warm embraces that return night after night. Norma senses there are things her parents aren’t telling her, but it will take decades to unravel the secrets they have kept buried since she was a little girl.

Join us at Brockwell Park, Brixton Water Lane side (weather permitting) to discuss The Berry Pickers in the park! If weathers bad it will be at Canova Hall/The Ferndale.

Lady Maximilian is the daughter of the powerful Duke Croyso, but she is rarely allowed outside her family’s sprawling castle for fear that her stutter will tarnish their noble name. When she is forced to marry Sir Riftan, a lowborn knight caught in one of her father’s schemes, Maxi doesn’t dare hope for happiness, let alone love. Her stumbling communication and his gruff manner sour their relationship before it can begin, and Riftan leaves without a word the morning after their vows are exchanged.
Now, three years after their disastrous wedding night, Riftan has returned as a war hero. To Maxi’s surprise, despite rumors that he was offered marriage to Princess Agnes, a beautiful and renowned sorceress, Riftan still wants Maxi for his wife. And when he comes to claim her, his longing becomes a desire that bewilders Maxi, even as she is overcome by the scorching heat that Riftan’s presence ignites within her. As she learns to navigate the intricacies of her new life, Maxi will find herself and her courage, and discover that she is anything but powerless.
