Barely any art form is as collaborative as filmmaking. And many queer filmmakers know what it feels like to create within teams where heteronormative perspectives dominate — where queer ideas are softened, sidelined, or reduced to “niche.” We want to shift that. This is a space for queer filmmakers to come together — to connect, exchange knowledge and resources, and build a network rooted in queer perspectives and storytelling. Our monthly workshop edition serves as a kick-off meeting for a "Make one shortfilm per month challenge" where we build a team, brainstorm and conceptualise ideas together, figure out production questions and determine roles. The main purpose is to work together, have fun and build relationships that hopefully go on to do bigger projects. Let’s build the teams we have been missing!

Warum klammert jemand? Warum Drama? Warum Rückzug? Warum Kälte? Warum Unsicherheit, Nervosität und Ärger? --- und wie sieht eine sichere & gute Beziehung aus (und fühlt sich an). Die Annahme: Ereignisse der frühen Kindheit & der Erziehungsstil unserer Eltern prägen, wie wir als Erwachsene unsere Partnerschaften, Freundschaften & Arbeitsbeziehungen leben. Für manche gut. Für manche weniger gut. Ich setze mich mit den Beziehungstypen auseinander, weil ich glaube, dass sie einen wesentlichen Einfluss auf die Gestaltung von Freundschaften haben (und auf Liebesbeziehungen sowie menschliche Beziehungen jeglicher Art). Dabei habe ich entdeckt, dass ich oft einen vermeidenen Beziehungsstil habe - ich weiche lieber aus, trenne mich oder spreche Probleme nicht an, weil ich wahrscheinlich in meiner Kindheit aus unterschiedlichen Ereignissen gelernt habe... dass bringt eh nichts, ich kann anderen nicht vertrauen, das macht man nicht, meine Bedürfnisse sind nicht wichtig, usw. In der Auseinandersetzung mit den Beziehungs- / Bindungstypen habe ich bemerkt, wie gut es mit tut, mit anderen mich darüber auszutauschen. Weil: * Ich bin nicht allein. * Ich lernen die Gefühle anderer kennen * Ich entwickle ein gutes Gefühl für die anderen Beziehungsstile (nicht nur meinen) * Ich löse das Thema für mich Schritt für Schritt - und werde immer sicher in meinen Bindungen & Beziehungen. The idea is to meet up after work, get a little cycle in, see some sights and end in a beer garden. **The Tour** The first destination will be Schöneweider: the home of Berlin’s Elektropolis – where modern electricity was pioneered. First we will head East along the South bank of the River, cruise around the industrial heritage of Schoneweider with a few stories form me, then head back up the North side to the Funk Haus (itself a monument of industrial culture) for a sundowner beer and perhaps a bite to eat at [café Zola](https://maps.app.goo.gl/QpGL6UiyQoZG6Bxv8). After that its lights on for a return journey to Treptow/Freidrichshain – estimated time of arrival 9pm. **The Cycling** This is not a sports event. As long as you have a reasonable bike and are used to cycling around town, you should be fine to join in. City bikes are fine – there are no hills. **What to Bring** Spare inner tube for your tyre size, cash, waterproofs, suncream, snacks, a smile. Hope to see you there Simon Schöneweider is the home of Berlin’s Elektropolis. It was here that modern electricity networks were developed by AEG, creating a pioneering electricity generation and transmission system that served as a model for all. Not only did they build the power station and grid running from it, they then went on to build the factories necessary to produce components for the electrification of the cities around the globe. Turbines, lamps, cables, valves and much more were manufactured in this kilometer long stretch of the riverside. Along with it came new residential areas as the population swelled to 26 thousand from virtually nothing in 30 years from the 1890s. Today many of the buildings are derelict, some are under development and others are art spaces or ateliers. All retain their beauty and fascination as monuments to Berlin’s industrial past. Come and explore this unique and lesser-known slice of Berlin’s History together.

Come out and debate whether AI is good or bad. My hot take: a labor-saving tool that could potentially help cure cancer gets called dangerous because it might raise unemployment or cause a speculative investment bubble, that tells you a lot more about capitalism and the economic system we live under than it does about the tool itself. As a computer programmer, I think AI is a wonderful tool that has increased my productivity by at least an order of magnitude. I'd go so far as to say Claude Code is the best tool I have ever used. Debate me and name a better one. Is AI potentially dangerous? Yes, but so are a lot of tools. Chainsaws. Steam engines (early ones would occasionally explode and kill everyone in the room). Do you think cavemen sat around debating whether fire could be used as a weapon or for self-harm, and decided not to discover it? I have two friends who hate AI for opposite reasons: one thinks it's a fad and not useful, and the other thinks it's going to take over everything and cause human extinction.
