Volunteer Meet-Up by Queer Bridges
Volunteer Meet-Up by Queer Bridges
**Volunteer Meet-Up by Queer Bridges** With ***Munir*** and ***Roby*** For **LGBTQIA+** **[free event with registration](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/queer-bridges-monday/w13-2026-2)** A welcoming and informal space to connect, share ideas, and explore new ways of co-creating Village together. Whether you’re already volunteering or just curious, this meet-up is a chance to get involved, meet others, and feel inspired. ✨ Gently hosted with support from the Queer Bridges team, the gathering offers an open and supportive environment to exchange experiences, reflect together, and share tools and perspectives helping us to create together a meaningful, inclusive, and vibrant space where community can grow and thrive. We’re inviting all we are village volunteers to join a meet-up hosted by the Queer Bridges project lead, together with our volunteer coordinator. Many of you already bring a lot of care and awareness into our spaces—this meet-up is a chance to connect, align, and share what’s working as our community and programs continue to grow. It’s also a moment to put faces to names, get to know the Queer Bridges program, and clarify what to expect when volunteering within it. We’ll share a few practical points that can be helpful when volunteering across activities and teams. The gathering will offer space for collective reflection on topics such as migration, asylum, forced displacement, diversity, community care, and collective responsibility. It’s also an opportunity to exchange experiences: how we welcome participants, collaborate with facilitators, and handle everyday situations in ways that keep our spaces respectful, inclusive, and supportive—without overcomplicating things. Bring your questions, tips, and perspectives. Your experience is a big part of what shapes our culture. This meet-up will also feed into our Volunteer Guidance Book, so it reflects real volunteer practice and supports us as we grow—together. 💬 **What to expect** This space is open for your questions, experiences, and perspectives. By learning from one another, we continue strengthening a culture of mutual support and collective care within the Village. 🌟 **New here? You’re very welcome** If you’re curious about getting involved, we’d especially love to welcome people who want to be part of a team co-creating a warm, welcoming queer community space—one that embraces diversity, respect, and care. No prior experience is needed—just openness and a willingness to connect. Feel free to stay afterward for informal chats and connection. ✨ **Why volunteer with we are village?** Being part of Village means more than supporting a single event—it’s about joining an ongoing journey. Together, we create meaningful, inclusive, and vibrant spaces where community can grow and thrive. We warmly encourage you to join us for this shared moment of connection, reflection, and co-creation. 💛 **Queer Bridges: Forging connections and providing resources for LGBTQIA+ people with migration experiences**. Queer people with migrant backgrounds in Berlin often face unique challenges in their daily lives that can limit their access to supportive communities and inclusive environments. With the support of the **Deutsche Fernsehlotterie Stiftung**, we have developed the Queer Bridges program to overcome these barriers. We provide resources, networking and support in a welcoming environment for queer immigrants and refugees through our special program. Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging to the local LGBTQIA+ community, enabling smooth integration and an improved quality of life for queer folks with experiences of migration and/or displacement. **General Information** **Participants**: This workshop centers all who identify as LGBTQ+ and have experienced migration and/or displacement, while welcoming allies. **Hinweise** **Teilnehmende:** This workshop centers all who identify as LGBTQ+ and have experienced migration and/or displacement, while welcoming allies. **Sprache:** Die Veranstaltung wird auf Englisch und Deutsch sein.

German Sprachcafé at Denizen! From A1 to B2 *Read Description
**Hi everyone!** We’ll now be meeting twice a week at Denizen House (Köpenicker Str. 40, 10179 Berlin), on **Mondays and Wednesdays**! * **Mondays:** levels A1 to B2 * **Wednesdays:** levels B1 to C1 We work with dedicated materials tailored to each level, so everyone will have a place to practice and improve. **Event schedule** * **18:00 – 18:30** Arrival and registration * **18:30 – 19:50** Sprachcafé * **19:50 – 20:00** End and clean up Please be aware that the moderated event starts at **18:30**. Before this time, we are busy setting up the space. Registrations usually take place around **18:15 / 18:20**. Participants are kindly asked **not to arrive too far in advance** at the house. If someone arrives much earlier, Denizen may ask them to pay either for a drink (consumption) or for a **day pass**, as the space is a co-working environment during the day. **Please remember, our event is only happening from 18:00 to 20:00** **How the Sprachcafé works** We use different materials to help participants gain confidence in German. Together with whiteboards and our volunteers, the Sprachcafé is based on **interactive conversations** in small groups. **Participation fee** The Sprachcafé has a **participation fee of 5 €**, which helps cover organizational costs and **includes one soft drink for free**. Tickets can be purchased directly on the day of the event, card and cash payments are accepted. As the Sprachcafé has become very popular, we now need to **limit the number of participants**. Please understand this measure; it ensures that everyone has a comfortable space to practice. We kindly ask you to be **rücksichtsvoll** and only RSVP “Yes” if you are certain you can attend. If your plans change at the last minute, please update your RSVP so someone on the waiting list can take your spot. Getting your ticket early can help secure your place. **Please note** Our event will begin **promptly** at the scheduled start time. If you arrive late, we cannot guarantee your participation, even if you have a ticket or have RSVP’d. We encourage all guests to arrive on time to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. **About Denizen** Denizen is a new-style co-working space focused on being an integral part of local communities. Located on the ground floor of the historic Eiswerk on Köpenicker Straße in Kreuzberg, Denizen House is a communal place providing work, refreshment, and recreational facilities throughout the day. Think of it as a living room for the neighborhood. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to let me know. If you’d like to contribute to this night, send me a message! Ich freue mich schon! Grüße, **Nacho**
After-work chill & fold @ Kaschk
After-work chill & fold @ Kaschk
**Are you looking forward to relaxing after a long day at work?** Then join us for our first after-work origami Meetup! In the relaxed atmosphere of the brewery[ Kaschk by Brlo](https://www.brlo.de/gastronomien/brlo-kaschk), you'll get to forget all your day's worries as you grab a beer (or other drink of your choice), chat with other participants and - of course - fold some cool origami! What you can expect at all our events: * Mandatory donation (amount of your choice) – this supports essential costs like the Meetup subscription and keeps our community thriving 🌱 You can either submit a physical donation to the event host in person or make a digital donation here (and inform the host afterwards). * In-person folding practice for all levels – beginners and experienced folders are equally welcome. * Origami paper + model instructions will be provided (from the host’s collection, for reference only). Feel free to bring your own favorite sheets or tools! * Photos may be taken for memories & our archive (Meetup, Instagram, Telegram) – let the host know if you prefer not to appear. * We kindly encourage everyone to order at least one drink/snack to support [Kaschk by Brlo](https://www.brlo.de/gastronomien/brlo-kaschk) for hosting us! They are also kind enough to allow outside food, so feel free to bring something to snack on or share with the group if you wish! ⚠️ RSVP Policy – Please Read ⚠️

Our community has grown a lot since its birth in August 2024, which is amazing — but it also means we need to handle RSVPs more carefully: * RSVP opens 7 days before each event (apart from short-notice events) and closes at noon on the event day. * Please cancel your spot or contact the host directly (via Meetup message function or our Telegram channel) by noon on the event day if you can't make it last minute. * Members with 2 no-shows (without notice) will be removed from the group unless a valid reason is provided. Thank you for keeping things fun and reliable together as a community! 🙏

Get in touch if you have questions anytime, see you all at the folding tables very soon! 🍺

It might be fun for you to experience what has become a tradition on the Fridays before Easter. They will have fried fish or baked fish, French fries and Cole slaw, as well as beverages, all for $16.00 for adults. They will have other beverages and desserts available for sale, as well. We have never tried this, and sometimes there are quite a few people at these events so we hope that we will be able to find each other easily. I'll try to have signs outside Marian Hall that Identify our group. We hope to have you join us!
