**Workshop: Communicating Information Effectively**
How well can you teach others? In the tech world, we are always learning new things, and in turn teaching others. But explaining to novices what we already know well can be a challenge in itself. Whether you’re onboarding a new team member, demonstrating your product to clients, or communicating with other teams in your company, you need to able to articulate your knowledge clearly for them to be able to learn and retain it.
In this workshop, we’ll focus on how to communicate your knowledge and expertise effectively, in whichever format it may be. You’ll learn an easy framework for considering your audience, what they know and what they need, and structuring your information based on proven best practice in adult education.

**💡Erica Wolf - Queer coding**
There are different meanings of Queer Coding. I will focus on the meaning grounded in Critical Theory and how Python, specifically, addresses this idea.

👩💻 Erica Wolf is a transgender woman, who escaped the political Dystopia of the USA in 2023. She has been writing Python for 20+ years and got to go through a painful transition from 2.7 to 3.X (I still always format my PRINT and RETURN statements wrong). She got an MS in Geographical Information Science (Make maps with computers) in the USA Currently, she is a Mentor/Coach for FLINTA people who have found themselves as leaders in Tech Startups.
**💡Lisa Johannsen - Crypto Bot**
She will introduce my CryptoBot project, which combines real-time data processing, machine learning, and scalable system design. By comparing historical price data with live streaming data, the model predicts price movements and determines whether to buy or hold.

👩💻 Lisa Johannsen is a Diplom Engineer from Berlin working as a Data Engineer. She enjoys building reliable and scalable data systems, while finding the right balance between automation, trust in data, and human expertise. **💡Maya Öykü Gümüs - Navigating Technical Interviews: Lessons From Both Sides**
In this talk, I share my journey from being a tech candidate and an interviewer, offering a behind-the-scenes perspective on the hiring process in 2026. **Fluentbody™** is a somatic movement practice that invites you to reconnect with your body and the present moment. Guided by breath, music, and awareness, you’re encouraged to move intuitively—led by sensation rather than thought. It’s not about how it looks, but how it feels.
Each session unfolds as a shared journey with a clear intention, supporting authentic movement beyond ideas of right or wrong. The practice can be grounding and energising, helping release tension, awaken sensation, and explore both softness and strength.

VSDC Movie Watch Party, Discussion, and Vegan Food
Join the [Veg Society of DC (VSDC)](vsdc.org) for a pro-animal/vegan-themed Movie Watch Party on Saturday, March 21 at 3:00 pm in Fairfax VA. Socializing with vegan food beforehand and discussion about the movie afterwards is planned. THIS MONTH'S MOVIE WATCH PARTY WILL BEGIN AT 3 PM.
This month's movie is Wicked: For Good (Part 2). *Wicked: For Good* explores the untold story behind the witches of Oz, following two unlikely friends whose choices, values, and courage shape the world around them. It’s a powerful, visually stunning story about identity, loyalty, and what it truly means to be “good.” The movie is 2 hours and 17 minutes long.
The VSDC member hosts’ home in Fairfax has a small home theater that can accommodate around 20 people. This regular event is a fun way to learn, discuss, and meet vegans and vegan-curious people (Thanks to Mindy Kursban and David Kwiatkowski for hosting!).
FEE: The $12 fee will cover the hosts' expenses for the event, including food, beverages, and other associated costs. If there are any proceeds beyond these costs, which we don't expect, they will go towards VSDC's work to fulfill its mission. In order to ensure the success of the evening and limit late cancellations, **the fee is refundable until 5 days before the event. [NOTE the fee increase due to the increase in the cost of food]**

You must purchase 1 adult ticket for handler admission and a separate 1 dog entry for 1Pm on either Sat or Sunday. I am not hosting this one so this posting is for information/awareness.

Lure course prices are typically $10-20 per run and the line to lure course can be pretty long on busy days. They also have in past years dock dives. Please excuse those corgis with a white plastic bag on a string addiction. You know who you are!
