Yarraman to Chadstone loop (43Km 300m ele Beginner+ level)
Hi,
Join us for a casual ride out from Yarraman station and head North West on the Djerring Trail up to Hughesdale. Here we will jump on the ANT for a few km North to East Malvern where we will head East on the Scotchman's Trail (This is mostly bike paths but there are a few sections that are on quiet back roads). We will travel along this until we hit the Dandy Creek Trail at Jell's Park, then head South on the DCR/ELT and back into Yarraman.
We will pass by Code 5 Cafe at 30Km where we can stop for refreshments!
Distance is getting up but its a pretty flat ride so have kept it as a beginner+ ride
See the RWGPS map here:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53922999
If people feel like it on the day, We could extend the route by finishing with a loop around the other side of Dandenong on the Dandy Creek Trail instead of the shorter more direct Eastlink Trail. This would make for a 54Km ride!
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53923985
We will kick off from Yarraman Railway Station @ 9.00am. I'll be on a black Giant gravel bike.
See pin here:

**⚠️ Group Rules & Event Etiquette ⚠️**
These are basic, commonsense standards that keep events safe, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone.
**👟 Fitness Requirements**
Riding: 10–15 km/hr
We walk/ride at a relaxed pace. Please ensure you meet the fitness level for the event. If the group is forced to wait excessively, you may be asked to leave the event.
**⛹️ Pace: Too Fast or Too Slow**
Small social events rely on staying together. If you prefer a very different pace, consider going solo, joining a faster/slower group, or choosing events that match your fitness.
**👩💼 Time Constraints**
If you’re on a tight schedule, this may not be the right event. Social activities rarely run exactly on time.
**⚠️ CRITICAL EXPECTATIONS ⚠️**
**👻 No‑Shows**
No‑shows block waitlisted people from attending and disrupt small-group events.
- Remove yourself at least 24 hours before the event.
- No‑shows will likely be removed and blocked from the group.
- Last‑minute cancellations **(“flaking”)** may also result in group removal, especially when there is a waitlist.
**👀 Attending Without Being on the Going List**
This is a security issue.
**Do NOT turn up unannounced**.
If you’re not on the Going list and haven’t arranged it with the organiser beforehand, you will be asked to leave. Event check‑ins are performed.
**⏰ Late Arrivals**
If you’re late, the group will not wait.
- You may be marked as a No‑Show and removed from the group.
- It’s your responsibility to communicate and catch up—this may not be possible for some events.
**🎲 Second Chances**
If something goes wrong, communicate with the organiser. Silence + poor behaviour = removal. Communication + accountability = second chances. As the organiser is busy organising this may be impossible during the event.
**🚩Disclaimer: No Liability & Organiser Indemnity
By participating in this event, you acknowledge and accept full personal responsibility for your own safety, wellbeing, and belongings. The organiser assumes no liability for injury, loss, or damage incurred during the activity. Participation is entirely at your own risk.**

Valentine's Weekend: WUTHERING HEIGHTS at the Drexel Theatre!
Join us as we get together to see the steamy-romance-period-drama, WUTHERING HEIGHTS. Director Emerald Fennell gives us her take on the romance between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw from the classic Emily Bronte novel. Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event:
DESCRIPTION: The film tells a passionate and tumultuous love story set against the backdrop of the Yorkshire moors, exploring the intense and destructive relationship between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw. The film is directed by Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman, Saltburn) and is loosely based on the classic novel by Emily Bronte. It stars Margot Robbie, Jacob Elordi, Alison Oliver, Owen Cooper and Hong Chau!
TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fLCdIYShEQ
BUZZ & REVIEWS: The film is earning a solid 70% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes, where critics say, “The Oscar-winning British filmmaker crafts a sumptuous bad romance that’s quite haughty, darkly hilarious and ultimately heartfelt.” Others call it a “sexy, exhilarating and visually stunning adaptation of the classic novel by Emily Brontë.” We’ll see for ourselves on Friday!
PLAN: Purchase your ticket for the 7:00pm showing and meet inside the theater lobby between 6:30 and 6:45pm! Advance ticket purchase not required for this theater but early arrival is advised! Be sure to mention you’re with the Movie Group for admission and concession discounts! Immediately following the movie, don’t miss the best part of the night – food and drinks at the nearby Rusty Bucket! The film follows a man from the future who recruits diners at an LA restaurant to help combat rogue AI. Here’s a description, trailer and our plan for this event:
GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN, DON’T DIE: A man from the future arrives at a diner in Los Angeles where he must recruit the precise combination of disgruntled patrons to join him on a one-night quest to save the world from the terminal threat of a rogue artificial intelligence. The film is directed by Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean series) and stars Sam Rockwell, Haley Lu Richardson, Michael Peña, Zazie Beetz, Asim Chaudhry, Tom Taylor, and Juno Temple.
TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkFW7BZyqkI
EARLY BUZZ AND REVIEWS: Early reviews have been stellar with the film earning a 94% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes! “It offers laughs, thrills, and it’s a thinker; you will not be disappointed.” It’s a “laugh-filled yet incredibly dark and poignant fever dream that pleads for a safer AI tomorrow” and director Gore Verbinski's “command over utter chaos is nothing short of marvelous!”
PLAN: Please purchase your ticket for the 6:20pm showing and meet in the bar area between 5:45 and 6:00pm! A smaller theater so advance ticket purchase as soon as possible is advised! (If we fill it up, we can sometimes persuade them to move it to a larger theater.) One you have yours, please list your seat number in the Comments below.
Should be a fun one, Dan
