A dream is a wish your heart makes.
We are gathering to talk about whatever science fiction, new and old, got us excited lately! What was the last novel you read? Is there any blockbuster you look forward to? What's good on streaming? Games, creative writing, comic books, novels, cinema, anything goes.
A table will be booked on the organizer's name (Carlos). The available seats will be limited: please confirm if you are attending, or cancel on time if you can't come. If you confirm, it means a seat was booked for you.
If this is your first meetup with this group:
There is no fixed subject or theme, just feel free to discuss whatever you would like to share about anything Science Fiction. The lingua franca is English, as it is the language we all have in common. However we also switch languages, whenever convenient. We look forward to meeting you.
We have a closed chat group on WhatsApp. If you would like to join, please PM the organizer to receive the invitation link.
See you soon!
Photo Walk: Winterthur - Thema Story Telling
\-\-\- D \-\-\-
* Wo beginnt deine Geschichte?
* Wer oder was steht im Mittelpunkt?
* Welche Details geben Kontext oder Spannung?
\-\-\- E \-\-\-
This photo walk through the old town of Winterthur is all about **visual storytelling:**
* How do you tell a small story with images – concrete, tangible, and vivid?
The focus is on a simple yet powerful structure:
* **A story in five photos.**
On-site, you’ll receive a compact card that shows you step by step how to build a photo series:
* Where does your story begin?
* Who or what is at the center?
* Which details add context or create tension?
The card helps you to consciously look for suitable subjects along the way – whether you're using a camera or a smartphone.
**Who is it for?**
For beginners and advanced photographers interested in photo techniques – and who want to learn how to use those techniques purposefully for storytelling.
**Pricing**
This walk is free, a [donation](https://tscharner.payrexx.com/pay?tid=861b78d0) to cover expenses is very much appreciated.

**The art and science of designing at 35,000 feet ✈️**
What does it take to design an interface for a cockpit? For our next Friends of Figma Zurich meetup, we’re going behind the scenes with [Lufthansa Systems FlightNav](https://www.lhsystems.com/company/our-subsidiaries/lufthansa-systems-flightnav) to explore exactly that.
We’re teaming up with [Kristjan Gomboc](https://www.linkedin.com/in/kristjangomboc/) (Head of Product Design) and [Pankaj Juvekar](https://www.linkedin.com/in/pankajjuvekar/) (Lead Product Designer) from the [Lido Pilots Apps division](https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/lido/) to unpack how aviation software gets designed, where safety, regulation and precision leave zero room for “good enough.”

🕕 **18:00 – 21:00**
📍 **Stelzenstrasse 6, 8152 Opfikon**
What’s on the radar?
🛫 The Full Flight Path
From messy early research and rough sketches to high-fidelity prototypes, how a safety-critical product actually comes to life.
🧩 The Stack
How designers, engineers and aviation experts collaborate using Figma and Figma Make to stay aligned in complex systems.
🔍 Real Talk
Work-in-progress files. Honest lessons. The reality of designing for highly regulated environments.
To close the evening, we’ll host a panel discussion with [Laura Fehre](https://www.linkedin.com/in/laura-fehre/) from Figma, connecting the aviation case study with a broader perspective on AI, Figma Make and how tools evolve to support teams working on complex real-world systems.
Whether you’re into complex systems, curious about aviation UX or interested in the future of design tools, this one’s for you.
See you above the clouds ✨

“Dopamine Nation” Book Discussion
We will meet to discuss Dopamine Nation, where Anna Lembke explores how dopamine drives pleasure, motivation, and addiction , and how modern life constantly overstimulates our reward system. From social media and shopping to work and achievement, we live in a world designed to keep us hooked, often leaving us anxious, depleted, or dissatisfied.
Our conversation will focus on the pleasure–pain balance and everyday addictions. See you in March !

Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington.
The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo.
Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine.
We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you.
The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly.
Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome.
The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit.
Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times.
Feel free to message me privately wth any questions and/ or concerns you may have.
