Let's head outside and play in the sunshine Gather near the outdoor piano in the Töölonlahden Kesäpuisto. Bring an instrument, something to sit on, a tablet (or small laptop) if you have one, something to drink, sunscreen, etc ... and let's have a proper session playing our favorite songs in the sunshine. Whether you are a beginner, or an experienced player … or perhaps you just like to sing along … come and join use for a sing-a-long / play-a-long session. We will then start playing and everyone can join in. If you want to improvise over the song while we are playing, go ahead!!! Bring your uke, guitar, or any other instrument … or just yourself. Small amps are welcome. All ages welcome. We will cancel if it rains

**Casual Badminton – Beginner-Friendly** Looking for **6 people** to join us for casual badminton this Friday. Beginner-friendly and low-pressure — just a fun game, some movement, and a chance to meet activity buddies/friends. The plan is to have **up to 8 players total** so we can rotate between games, take short breaks, and still have enough players even if someone has to drop out last minute. One court for **4 people** is already booked. If we get enough confirmed interest, I’ll book a **second court**. Court price: **10 €/hour per court**, divided by the players. Welcome to join our Sahaja Yoga meditation meetings in English! The meetings are free of charge and you can just show up. The group consists of people of different ages and nationalities who have been meditating different periods of time. Newcomers are welcome at any time. We normally sit on chairs or on pillows on the floor, so there is no need to bring a mat and you can wear normal clothes. Meditation means mental silence or thoughtless awareness. You are present here and now, but your mind is not bombarded by thoughts from the past or the future. In this state, you feel peace and joy, which are the essential elements of the present moment. With regular practice of meditation, it is possible to establish this state within us. The group is lead by volunteers who are experienced and can offer guidance to get you started. We give a short introduction to the meditation and after that we do meditation exercises. We also give tips on how to meditate at home. After the meditation class, we have a cup of tea and there is time for questions. Welcome! We hope to see you in our meditation meetings! Discover the restorative power of nature on a guided forest walk on the island of Seurasaari. If you are not registered, you will be kindly asked to leave. Step out of everyday busyness and into a more present, embodied experience of nature. Practice selected ForestMind exercises and include optional moments of shared reflection in a safe, supportive space. These gentle exercises invite you to open your senses, cultivate a feeling of calm and refreshment, and practice being fully present in the moment. Some invitations focus on noticing and kindly accepting your own thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations. The method, developed in Finland by Mrs. Sirpa Arvonen, combines researched nature-based health effects with simple mind-skill practices and is suitable for everyone, regardless of age, fitness level, or previous experience. Looking for a different kind of philosophical discussion? Volunteers are **randomly assigned one of many philosophical statements** and given **10 minutes** to prepare an argument. Possible statements include *Free will exists*, *Lying is sometimes morally justified*, *It is better to be happy than to know the truth*, and many more. Each volunteer then gives a **5-minute defence** of their assigned claim. This is followed by a **15-minute group discussion**, where participants are encouraged to ask probing questions, raise objections, and help refine the argument. The process then repeats with the next volunteer and a new statement. No prior experience in philosophy or debating is required—just curiosity and a willingness to think. Suomenlinna is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a classic summer picnic location only 15 minute ferry ride away from downtown Helsinki. Join us for a tour of the island, and if feeling up for it, check out the various museums located around the island where both the Museum Card and the Helsinki Card grant free entry. There's no pre-planned route or destination — instead we'll take a walk around the fortress ruins and pop in wherever we're feeling up for it. Free In-person Meeting: Unwanted Emotions & Loneliness, How to Get Over Them
This is an in-person meeting. Did you know that unwanted emotions like loneliness, sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear, anxiety, or feelings of irritation don’t just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not chemical imbalance in your brain due to some nebulous chemical reactions by chance. Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you. The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life. For instance, let's say you are already carrying a huge load on your back, then you cannot take on much more, but, let's say something else happens to you, such as the difficulties from the Pandemic, then the resultant combined weight on you can take you over the edge, kind of like the straw that break the camel's back. When this happens, people's attention usually goes to the straw that was added, but actually the majority of the weight had come from the huge load that were already there, holding a person down and causing a person issues. So how do you remove the huge load that was already there? How do you lighten them up? Is it possible to get rid of them? That is what this meeting will be all about. Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life.
