Learn to Meditate - Free Ongoing Course - Tuesdays in Covent Garden @ 7.30pm
Learn to Meditate - Free Ongoing Course - Tuesdays in Covent Garden @ 7.30pm
Join us for a Free Ongoing Course - Learn to Meditate - Tuesdays in Covent Garden @ 7.30pm - Sahaja Yoga Meditation Please arrive early - join any week - all welcome Friends Meeting House, 8 Hop Gardens Covent Garden, London, WC2N 4EH To enter - please press the Bell marked - 'The Fry Room' Achieve Yoga & enter into a state of ‘thoughtless awareness’. In the heart of London, very close to Covent Garden, there is a weekly class in free meditation. **Achieve Yoga & Learn to Meditate in 2026 - 7:30- 9:00pm Tuesdays** The first experience of Sahaja Yoga meditation is called Self Realisation. With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we generally sit on chairs to achieve Yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. As such no Asanas (exercises) are required, no mat or special clothing ## What is Meditation? Meditation is a state of mental silence or rest, where our attention is aware, but not engrossed in thinking. It is known as ‘thoughtless awareness’. It is achieved when the indwelling Kundalini energy awakens and carries the individual attention beyond the level of the 6th chakra, into the seventh chakra, known as Sahasrara. ## Yoga! It is here we achieve Yoga! As the mind finds rest and silence, we become able to feel our inner Self (Spirit). This can be tangibly felt, it actually manifests, as a cool wind, breath or breeze, often experienced on the palms of the hands or at the top (crown) of the head. It is a spontaneous, effortless natural happening. Each week many people experience this actualisation at one of the many free meditation classes on offer ## How to get into balance? The secret of the Sahaja Yoga method resides within us, at the base of the spinal chord, in a triangular bone called the “sacrum bone”. Since our birth in our sacrum bone dwells an inner energy called in Sanskrit Kundalini; it is characterised as a feminine energy and once activated, this energy rises along our spine until it reaches the top of the head and finally connects with the universal energy. This union is called “yoga” in Sanskrit. ## Kundalini As our indwelling Kundalini rises through the central channel, this benevolent feminine energy activates the chakras, removing all the impurities from them and nourishing the entire inner system. It is through this happening that we are elevated into ‘thoughtless awareness’, the mental silence of true meditation www.sahajayogalondon.co.uk Free Meditation & Yoga Classes in London Want to experience it now – Experience Self Realisation now – Guided Meditation ([https://www.sahajayogalondon.co.uk/articles/experience-your-self-realisation-online-now/](https://www.sahajayogalondon.co.uk/articles/experience-your-self-realisation-online-now/ "https://www.sahajayogalondon.co.uk/articles/experience-your-self-realisation-online-now/")) ###

Learn to meditate with us - No charge - No Commitment - Beginners Very Welcome
**Discover Meditation. Find Your People. Change Your Life.** What if one Tuesday evening changed everything? At the Hertford Buddhist Group, we come together to learn and practise meditation — and to build something rarer than that: a genuine community of people who care about living with more meaning, depth, kindness, and connection. You don't need to be a Buddhist. You don't need to know anything at all. You just need to be curious. **What to expect:** A warm welcome, full meditation instruction for beginners, rich discussion, a tea break, and the kind of conversation you rarely get anywhere else. We meet every Tuesday, 7.30pm–9.30pm at the Millbridge Rooms (opposite Hertford Theatre). Please arrive between 7.00 and 7.15pm. There is no charge. Ever. You are able to give a donation to help cover our cost if you want to. Each session has its own flavour — sometimes more meditation-focused, sometimes more discussion-based, sometimes led by different voices in our community. We like variety. We like depth. We like people who ask big questions. **We typically welcome 20–30 people** each week — Meetup RSVPs don't tell the whole story, so don't let a low number put you off. Just come. 📍 Find us, get directions, explore meditation recordings and resources: 👉 [hertfordbuddhistgroup.co.uk](https://hertfordbuddhistgroup.co.uk) 💬 Join our warm and lively Facebook community: 👉 [facebook.com/groups/205398687230606](https://www.facebook.com/groups/205398687230606) See you soon — I mean that. *Keith*

It helps those who enjoy it, reduce stress and increase wellness and health holistically. It brings better focus and helps people become more centered and better balanced. Anyone can do it. Founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a world wide movement for peace and self awakening. All the meetings and classes are free of any charge. Each week we go through simple meditation techniques, often with guided meditations to help reduce stress and achieve the peace of true meditation. We share tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home. The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centres) and balancing the subtle body. The tradition and aims of meditation are explained which in essence is to be in the present with no mental activity or thoughts about the past or the future. Occasionally there are 1 day retreats to help those interested, deepen their individual experience and hear advice and tips from those who have been practicing for some time. It’s ultimately all about getting into ‘thoughtless awareness’, a natural state of being.

Guided meditation for beginners
Guided meditation for beginners
Regular Thursday meditations are suitable for anyone interested in Buddhism, and many people come back the next week (so don't worry if there's no-one showing as confirmed in Meetup; there's always a good group). There's an introductory talk about a basic Buddhist topic, followed by a guided meditation. Wear something comfortable for sitting on a meditation cushion. We start at 7:30 pm sharp. As befriending and learning from other practitioners is an integral part of Buddhist practice, we have a cup of tea beforehand and often socialise afterwards. Feel free to turn up from 7pm on.

Sahaja Yoga is a unique form of meditation that will enable you to connect with your deeper self, establishing a higher awareness within you resulting in a deep feeling of peace, calmness, balance, and joy. It is a tangible practical experience: Sahaja Yoga is “Subtle, Simple and Real”. It was founded by HH Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi ( 1923-2011) and has at its core the process of Self Realisation: connecting with your real Self through the awakening of the dormant energy in our sacrum bone called Kundalini who takes us into the deep peaceful state of thoughtless awareness. In the class, we will go through the process of Self Realisation and learn how to achieve the state of meditation effortlessly. Also, we will learn about balancing our subtle system, how to diagnose and solve our problems, and how to meditate at home. Sahaja Yoga helps all aspects of our life: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual, it is an extraordinary method, unique from any other types of meditations as it uses our own energy Kundalini who can correct our chakras, balance us, and take us to a much higher and deeper state of awareness. We do not need mats, we sit on chairs, it is easy and simple, Sahaja means spontaneous in Sanskrit, it is for all cultures, ages, religions, and backgrounds. There are free meetings all over London and the UK and also in more than 100 countries. If you are looking for well-being, harmony, and solving your problems, you want to get out of confusion, and mental health problems you are looking for answers then you are in the right place. Come along and try, no need to sign up, beginners are welcome anytime. **“Sahaja Yoga is a method by which our Pure Desire is fulfilled“ (from the founder Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi)**
The Cuddle Exchange: Undressed
The Cuddle Exchange: Undressed
**[Please book your place in advance here.](https://www.outsavvy.com/event/20078/the-cuddle-exchange-the-naked-edition)** Heart-centred, kind and respectful touch blesses both the receiver and giver. The nervous system relaxes, the breath deepens, the heart rate slows and we feel connected, calm and quiet. Many of us can feel deprived of physical contact and touch and yet it is so vital to our wellbeing and happiness. Even if we have a lot of sex, a sensual element can be missing; that sweetness of just being held. In this naked workshop, we will take this intimacy a little deeper and work together to create a safe space that meets people’s varying need for physical contact with others. **[Please book your place in advance here.](https://www.outsavvy.com/event/20078/the-cuddle-exchange-the-naked-edition)** The session will involve movement, mindful awareness, shared touch and massage and partner and small group exercises. Each person will get to determine their own boundaries and preferences during the workshop. Join us and inhabit your body more fully, relaxing into it with deeper compassion, appreciation and contentment. ANDY is a Tantra Yoga teacher and somatic therapist and coach and has been facilitating spaces for gay, bi and queer men to connect from the heart for 9 years. He holds classes and private sessions in London and runs several wellbeing retreats for men during the year.
Circling Day
Circling Day
Connection: Our Deepest Desire and Greatest Fear On the deepest level, just as a plant spontaneously moves towards the sun, there is a spontaneous movement in all of us toward aliveness and connection (Laurence Heller). And over the years I have found Circling a powerful practice to support this movement for myself and others. Building my capacity to be with both my desire for human connection and the fear that may arise. Such a deeply human dilemma. We practice approaching our own experience and the experience of others with curiosity, becoming more aware of the subtleties of what is present. The emphasis is on staying in contact with your experience as it unfolds. The unfolding may be quiet and internal or it may lead to words – naming sensations, thoughts, emotions, impulses or perceptions. It might also include movement or other non-verbal expression. The idea is not to try to change what’s there, but to become more aware of what it is and how we are meeting it and relating to it in the moment. Often awareness follows expression and this is okay too. We are all swimming in the ocean of the unknown. Occasionally the whale lifts its head above the surface and we catch a glimpse – a moment of seeing something about ourselves that we hadn’t noticed before. I’d love you to join us for this Circling day and please contact me if you have any questions. **Sunday 31st May. £85** Please book through eventbrite: [https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/robyn-wilford-29457876735](https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/robyn-wilford-29457876735) **If you have any questions please email:** **robyncontact365@gmail.com** Facilitation and Terms of Service This is a facilitated group practice but not group therapy and not psychotherapy. Because of my NARM background and own personal journey, I value personal choice, agency and emergent self-awareness. Participants are encouraged to stay connected to their own pace and to keep checking in with themselves throughout the practice – noticing what feels supportive, what feels like too much, and what they may need in any moment. There’s no expectation to be vulnerable or to share anything that feels too personal or emotional and you are always welcome to speak, remain silent, pause, step back and take a break, leave or ask for what you want, including asking for support. Participants are also invited to respect one another’s pace and boundaries. The intention of my Circling leadership is to support myself and people in staying present with their experience while in relationship with others, and to develop greater awareness of how they are meeting that experience. Having said that, like solo meditation, it’s normal that we will all repeatedly lose presence and Circling can sometimes evoke strong emotions or reactions in people which can be difficult for them and challenging for others in the space to navigate. If you find the prospect of this potentially destabilising or overwhelming, or if you are currently experiencing significant emotional distress or instability in your life that might be exacerbated by this type of group environment, or if you are unsure you’ll be able to take care of yourself and ensure the practice works for you, then please contact me before registering so we can discuss further. By registering you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the above.

Free In-person Meeting: Unwanted Emotions & Loneliness, How to Get Over Them
Free In-person Meeting: Unwanted Emotions & Loneliness, How to Get Over Them
This is an in-person meeting. Did you know that unwanted emotions like loneliness, sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear, anxiety, or feelings of irritation don’t just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not chemical imbalance in your brain due to some nebulous chemical reactions by chance. Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you. The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life. For instance, let's say you are already carrying a huge load on your back, then you cannot take on much more, but, let's say something else happens to you, such as the difficulties from the Pandemic, then the resultant combined weight on you can take you over the edge, kind of like the straw that break the camel's back. When this happens, people's attention usually goes to the straw that was added, but actually the majority of the weight had come from the huge load that were already there, holding a person down and causing a person issues. So how do you remove the huge load that was already there? How do you lighten them up? Is it possible to get rid of them? That is what this meeting will be all about. Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life. Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there. This group is created by the Dianetics and Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.
