Raquetas de nieve por els Rasos de Peguera (Senderismo/ Naturaleza)
Nos vamos al Berguedá a hacer raquetas de nieve, dónde os tenemos preparada una ruta singular y poco frecuentada que nos llevará a las principales cimas que envuelven los Rasos de Peguera: els Rasos, el Pedró, els Rasos de Baix, el Roc d'Oró y el Puig Estela.
La ruta no representa dificultades pero es conveniente estar acostumbrad@ a caminar por la montaña. La salida quedará aplazada si las condiciones climáticas y los avisos de los organismos oficiales lo requieren.
Llevaremos bocadillos y agua y pararemos a mitad del camino para hacer el picnic.

## **🌅 Dawn Chorus Edition**
🌅 **Dawn Chorus Edition – February 8**
This walk will be a **Dawn Chorus** edition, meeting at **8:00 AM**.
The *dawn chorus* is the natural phenomenon where birds sing most actively in the early morning, just before and after sunrise. At this time of day, the world is quieter, the air is cooler, and birdsong is often richer, clearer, and more layered.
Walking during the dawn chorus offers a rare opportunity to listen deeply, move slowly, and begin the day grounded in presence and sound.
Everything else about the walk remains the same — slow pace, gentle guidance, moments of stillness, and an optional short Reiki session at the end.

### ✨ What we’ll do
* Begin with a short, gentle grounding practice
* Walk at a **slow, mindful pace** (intentionally slower than a usual walk)
* Use **birdsong and natural sounds** as anchors for awareness
* Pause at times to listen, sense, or simply be still

For larger groups, **individual Reiki is not offered during the walk**.

### 🐦 A note on birds
This is **not a birdwatching walk**, though we use birdsong as a meditation anchor.
If you’re curious, I’m always happy to chat **after the walk** about birds we noticed by sight or sound. I’m also planning to open a **monthly gathering for amateur birdwatching** soon.

Guided talks and meditations are currently offered in **English**.
I’m learning **Spanish and Catalan**, and I hope to offer guided practices in those languages in the future.

We began with very small, intimate groups due to individual Reiki sessions.
As interest has grown, I’m opening up **more spots** and keeping the structure simple so we can walk together more spaciously.
Returning walkers may occasionally join beyond the usual number, as they’re already familiar with the pace and nature of the practice.

From Garraf Hills to the Buddhist Monastery: A Fundraising Hike
Join us for a beautiful circular hike through the wild heart of Garraf—where nature, heritage, and community spirit come together.
This outing isn’t just about enjoying the outdoors: **your participation fee will support a fundraising project** to bring clean water to people in need (see the group description for details).
We’ll follow quiet forest trails, pass the abandoned village of Jafre, and continue toward Vallgrassa’s Experimental Arts Centre. Starting from the striking Palau Novella, home to the Buddhist monastery, you’ll experience a mix of Mediterranean landscapes, rolling hills, vineyards, and cultural landmarks. It’s a refreshing 14 km loop that offers the perfect blend of nature and discovery.
**Plan for the Day**
8:00 – Meeting point at Plaça Universitat
9:00 – Start hiking from Palau Novella (Garraf)
Duration – Approximately 5 hours including short breaks
**Optional Add‑On**
\- For those who don’t need to return early: bring a sandwich and join the guided visit of the Buddhist monastery at 14:00 \(€9 per person\)\.
\- For those who prefer to be back in Barcelona\, return right after the hike\.

La meditación dura unos 40-45 minutos. Normalmente asisten personas del centro Harayoga, así que si ves que no hay nadie apuntado en meetup la sesión se realizará igual y lo más probable es que ya haya apuntada gente por otros canales. Meditation in a Conversation - Practice Presence with Yourself & Others
**Insight Circle**
Connect deeply, developing greater intimacy, with yourself and others, in this **Relational** **Mindfulness Practice** in the form of a conversation.
We will practice **observing without judgement**, what’s happening in us and between us, in the moment, as we relate to each other.
**Observing sensations, emotions and thoughts** so that we get a complete picture of what it’s like to be us.
In this way, we learn to **lead ourselves** through **greater awareness** of the moment, and cultivate our own **inner knowing**.
Through exercises introduced at the beginning of each session, we will gradually develop our capacity together to **be present** with what is and listen deeply to ourselves and others.
**This practice can help you:**
* Connect to your emotions, and
* Be more at ease and alignment in your body and mind.
* Get inspiration.
* Develop intuition to help you make decisions.
* Improve your relationships and connect with others on a much deeper level.
* Become unstuck in different areas of your life and take action.
I spent many years meditating, but when I discovered this, it felt like a revelation, a missing piece that’s helping me get awareness of how I relate to other and create my life.

Tal vez ayudes y no sabes que lo haces forzado por algo superior y esperando que otros te valoren.
Existe una gran confusión que produce mucho dolor: mezclar ser **bueno** con **vivir** en **el buenismo**, como si fueran lo mismo. Confundir lo uno y lo otro cuesta muy caro.
El *buenismo* **no es una bondad *libre***. Es una aspiración forzada, nacida del miedo y de la necesidad. Se actúa inconscientemente en el bien para ser aceptado, querido o correspondido. Se da desde la carencia, se sostiene en la soledad, se aguanta desde la culpa. En el buenismo la bondad deja de ser una elección porque es una estrategia de supervivencia. Y cuando eso ocurre, **otros lo perciben… y lo usan**.
Muchos han vivido esta herida: ser Comprensivos y acabar invadidos,
ser Generosos y terminar agotados,
poner el corazón y recibir abuso. O sea,
ser buenos… y verse **convertidos en presa**.
PERO existe *otra* *forma* de estar en el **bien**😃.
Hoy muchos están bloqueados. Temen ser buenos por haber aprendido que la bondad se castiga. Temen ser bondadosos porque el mundo *parece* premiar al astuto, al dominante, al que se impone con energía y con apariencia de seguridad.
Este evento nace para **poner claridad donde hay confusión**, para mostrar que es posible ser buenos y para pasar del buenismo a la bondad: 1; sin ser usado, 2; sin huir o desaparecer, 3; sin culparse. 4; sin traicionarse.
Porque **salir del buenismo no es volverse duro**. Y **ser bueno no es ser débil**.
Es recuperar una BONDAD consciente, Fuerte y Libre. Esa bondad no pide permiso. Esa bondad ya no se deja utilizar ni abusar.

Este taller de Terapia de Activación de la Glándula Pineal está orientado a ofrecer herramientas y técnicas para la estimulación de la glándula pineal a través de ejercicios de meditación, visualización, respiración consciente y otros enfoques holísticos. El trabajo propuesto puede facilitar la expansión de la percepción y el acceso a estados ampliados de conciencia, promoviendo el bienestar integral.
Desarrollo del taller
El taller se estructura en tres fases.
\- En la primera parte se realiza un ejercicio guiado de **breathwork** y **activación energética**.
\- A continuación\, se lleva a cabo una sesión guiada de **activación de la glándula pineal**.
\- Finalmente\, se realiza una práctica de **mindfulness** enfocada en la relajación profunda e integración de la experiencia.
Todos los ejercicios se realizan acompañados de música cuidadosamente seleccionada y frecuencias diseñadas para facilitar la conexión, la armonización y la sanación energética.

Normas importantes para la participación:
No pueden participar personas que estén en tratamiento médico por esquizofrenia o depresión aguda, que tengan problemas cardíacos, sean portadoras de stent, bypass coronario o marcapasos, ni personas con afecciones respiratorias o pulmonares. Las personas mayores de 70 años y menores de 15 años solo podrán participar con autorización escrita de un tutor.
Es necesario realizar un ayuno mínimo de 3 horas antes del taller. Durante ese tiempo solo se permite la ingesta moderada de agua. Esto se debe a que en el taller se realizan ejercicios de respiración y contracción muscular a nivel de perineo, genitales, abdomen y pulmones. Asistir con el estómago lleno puede provocar náuseas o molestias digestivas.

Meditiation teaching with Dharma Teacher, Khaydroup Zangmo
## Meditation as a key to spiritual development and the challenges we face in its pursuit
We are excited to have Khaydroup in person to teach.
About the Teacher: Khaydroup moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1981 to join a newly formed team of psychologists from The Naropa Institute led by the psychiatrist Edward Podvoll, whom Khaydroup eventually married in 1986. She would be the first roommate in their innovative home environment approach to treating those suffering from the extremes of psychological illness. This group, called Windhorse Associates, has now mushroomed both in the US and Europe. Khaydroup maintains keen interest in their accomplishments.
Impressed by her colleagues, many of whom were students of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, she began to study and practice the Buddha’s teachings in earnest. In 1990, during a three month stay in India, many auspicious events led Khaydroup straight to the monastic community of the late Gendun Rinpoche in the Auvergne Region of France where she had the good fortune to be guided in two consecutive traditional Three Year retreats by this highly respected meditation master. After completing her second retreat in 1997, Khaydroup joined the women’s monastery and began teaching the Dharma in centers, schools and organizations in Europe and in the USA. At the request of the 14th Shamarpa, Khaydroup moved back to the US in 2000 to be a resident teacher at the Santa Barbara Bodhi Path Center. During the two years she was there, she helped found both the San Luis Obispo Bodhi Path and West Los Angeles Bodhi Path Centers. The West Los Angeles group moved to Pasadena in 2004 where Khaydroup continues as the resident teacher.
Khaydroup was also a primary school teacher for 15 years, owning and directing a Waldorf Preschool for the last five of those years. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she is now a lay practitioner and lives with her daughter, granddaughters, and assorted pets in South Pasadena.

Dharma Talk & Meditation
Join us at 11:30 a.m. for a meditation class led by Khenpo Karze, followed by a public talk and Q&A.
The meditation focus varies from class to class. We are currently learning how to meditate on the Four Immeasurables: loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity.
The class begins with 30 minutes of meditation instruction, followed by 5-10 minutes of meditation practice, and then continues with discussion and Q&A. Each session concludes with a brief Chenrezig practice in which we recite Om Mani Padme Hung (a prayer of compassion), and a dedication prayer that our efforts benefit all beings.
This class offers a strong foundation in meditation, helping cultivate inner peace and compassion amidst busy lives.
All are welcome!
This program is open to anyone with an interest in Buddhism and you can come to all or any part of the program. Families are welcome. There is no fee, but donations are encouraged.

About the teacher:
Khenpo Tenzin Karze graduated from Ngagyur Nyingma Institute’s intensive Buddhist graduate course in 2006, and was awarded the degree of Khenpo, equivalent to a PhD in Buddhist Philosophy, in 2011. He has received teachings and empowerments from many great Nyingma masters, and taught extensively in various Palyul temples in Nepal, India, Europe and Taiwan. This is his first time in the USA. We are delighted that Khenpo is now in residence at KPC and will be providing traditional Dharma instruction to help us deepen our practice of wisdom and compassion.
Sunday Service
Join us every Sunday, either in person or online, for our Shin Buddhist service. Dress is casual yet conservative, and everyone is welcome to come listen to the Dharma and learn the Nembutsu, chants and songs associated with our tradition of Shin Buddhism. As long as Fairfax County COVID spread rates remain low, face masks are optional.

In-Person Buddhist Meditation and Psychology Group
This group is for anyone who wants to explore Buddhist meditation in a relaxed and supportive setting. Each session includes a short meditation, a simple teaching from Buddhist psychology, and an open discussion about how these ideas show up in everyday life. While our foundation is Buddhist practice, we love weaving in wisdom from other traditions whenever it helps us grow, find peace, and support each other. Members of our community come from many different backgrounds, and you do not need to consider yourself a Buddhist to attend. All are welcome.
The session runs from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., with doors open from 6:30 to 9:00. Come early or stay after if you’d like to enjoy some quiet reflection or casual conversation with the community.
On the first Wednesday of each month, we share a potluck meal. Bring a dish if you’d like, but the most important thing you can bring is yourself. We look forward to seeing you!
Guided Meditation: Calm Abiding & Compassion
Now at **11 a.m.**, this beginner-friendly guided meditation class helps stabilize the mind and open the heart. The session includes traditional practices such as Shamatha (calm abiding) and Tonglen (sending and receiving), as well as Jetsunma’s Light Expansion Prayer. Both relaxing and healing, these meditations can be practiced by anyone, regardless of religious tradition. Each class concludes with a dedication that our efforts benefit all beings.

Sarah Rehman is the founder and lead instructor at Flying Buddha Studio and the guiding force behind our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. Her yoga journey began as a path to personal healing—and quickly grew into a passion for guiding others.
