Open Coffee Club Riga #6
Open Coffee Riga is a friendly informal networking event for entrepreneurs, professionals, locals, guests, people in the startup community, and students in Riga.
Open Coffee Riga is an “un-meeting” without a speaker or agenda. We are focused on attendees gaining value from other attendees. The rules, tools, structure and moderation aim to facilitate this goal.
You may find a mentor, investor, client, co founder, employer, vendor, inspiration or a friend.
What is the BIG idea behind Open Coffee? We want to help people create valuable & meaningful connections. Everyone is welcome to our meetings, and we especially love first-timers. We want to make sure that if somebody coming from an unsupportive background/country has the courage to join, they will notice that we are glad they came because we welcome them. If you feel shy, you can also just listen but we encourage you to talk.
We start at 19:00 sharp. Everybody gets up to 2 minutes to present:
1. Who they are and what they are doing
2. What they want
3. How they can help others
At 20:00 sharp we stop hosting and you can talk to people who are most interesting to you.
We are focused on business and social entrepreneurs, community builders, game-changers, earth-shakers and anyone else who is doing something interesting or wants to get involved in other people's projects. You can talk about any project/topic.
This event is based on the Open Coffee Krakow format, run by Richard Lucas and others in Krakow, Poland since 2012. The Open Coffee Riga is a revival of the Open Coffee Riga from 2011 (!) where it evolved into TechHub Riga & that evolved into StartupHouse Riga.
If you are interested in knowing more about the Open Coffee format, take a look at our video for potential leaders [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z99E2z8anFU). Open Coffee format events are organised world-wide in Krakow, Lisbon, Porto, Tokyo, Sydney & many more places.

Daytrip to the Mangaļsala Shipwreck
**Meeting at 11:20 on Saturday at the Laima shop & Ticket Offices area of the central railway station. We are taking the 11:38 train to Skulte, and will get off at Vecaķi. Please arrange for your own ticket.**
You might have seen recent photos of the frozen seaside and the famous Lady Kathleen / Lady Cotlin shipwreck near the Mangaļsala Pier.
On this daytrip we will venture out to Vecaķi and walk by the seaside to the Mangaļsala Pier. **The path will most likely be frozen and slippery.** If possible and safe, we will get close to the shipwreck as well. **Approaching the shipwreck might be unsafe and it is your own responsibility.**
The weather is expected to be cold and appropriate clothing and bringing hot drinks are advised. The walking distance is about 12 km from the Vecaķi train station to the Pier and then to the terminal of Bus 24. We will take Bus 24 to return to the centre.
Everyone is welcome to join.
To learn more about the shipwreck, you can read this article:

There are several photos on Facebook by a number of people and this series is probably one of the best that I have seen. I am not related to the author.

CBusData - Ok I Want to Get Data into Fabric - Now What?
I love my job and one of the main things I do is help customers get going with any of the data technologies at Microsoft. Right now there are a lot of my customers asking about Microsoft Fabric. It's hard to weave across all the shiny new options across the Fabric landscape, let alone figure out where it fits into your organization. In this session we'll focus on answering one question - how can I get data into Fabric? We'll talk through the "it depends" options and see some of the options in live demos.

**\*\*\*\* More details and sign up at: https://aifalliance.org/summit-2026/ \*\*\*\***
**What is AI Freedom Alliance?**
AI Freedom Alliance promotes the responsible growth of AI guided by practical, commonsense ethics. Our nonprofit is built by
professionals from a wide range of industries and is made up entirely of small- and mediumbusiness representatives—never large tech companies. We provide a counterbalance to big corporate influence, focusing instead on how AI can benefit businesses and the world at large.
**What’s Happening?**
***The inaugural AI Freedom Alliance Summit.***
This full-day event will explore how we can ensure AI is adopted responsibly through shared ethical standards that empower
humanity. The summit will feature interactive and educational sessions led by thought leaders, technologists, policymakers, and advocates who are passionate about making AI fair, transparent, and beneficial for everyone.
**Why Attend?**
Learn about the legal and technical challenges with implementing AI solutions within your organization. Build better solutions while protecting your organization from legal and compliance risks. And learn how to think strategically about AI as a differentiation tool for your business.
This summit is highly recommended for C-Suite leaders to learn as well as interact with each other and our sponsors.
