Join DC Metro Crafts for the mid-month meetup! Bring your own cross stitch, knitting, crochet, or other portable craft. The Southwest Library is right off the Waterfront Metro. We'll be in Meeting Room 1. Go through both glass double doors and loop around to the right to find us. There are plenty of tables to spread out.

This month, we're discussing API design and single-header libraries. How should we structure and program libraries to impose as few usage constraints as possible? On this 6+ mile hike, we'll celebrate the reopening of the Billy Goat Trail's B Section, enjoy the C Section (without surgery), and explore the Washington Field Biologists' research ground on Plummers Island. To complete a thorough exploration of the ground between the Old Angler area and American Legion Bridge, we'll loop back to the start via the canal towpath. Most of our route will be fairly level, with good tread, but expect a few steep, rocky and potentially slick areas, especially along the recently completed reroute of Section B (finally, after more than six years closed). Be prepared for changing weather. Footwear should have good grip. Bring a snack and enough liquid to stay hydrated. All participants including the leader are required to sign Sierra Club's participation agreement/hike roster. A voluntary donation to defray the club's training and communication costs ($2 or so) will be encouraged. WE WILL MEET BY THE BRIDGE TO THE TOWPATH BELOW THE OLD ANGLER PARKING AREA OFF RIVER ROAD IN POTOMAC, MD.

Before each stop, we'll do a 30-second NANO-RUN (or fast walk or stairs). All exercises are modifiable and partner exercises are optional. We'll cover much of the National Mall. Starting at the restrooms by the (closed) World War II Memorial, we'll head past the Washington Monument and the Smithsonian's museums to the Capitol. Then we'll head to the Jefferson Memorial and follow the Potomac River to the Watergate steps (where First Lady Michelle Obama exercised on "The Biggest Loser" TV show. We'll hit the Lincoln Memorial and Constitution Gardens before returning to the WWII Memorial.
