Data Engineers London x Snowflake User Group May Event
Data Engineers London is partnering once again with the [London Snowflake User Group](https://usergroups.snowflake.com/london/) to bring you a data engineering event in the heart of the City of London this May 🎉 Sign up is either through this Meetup event or on LSUG's event. Agenda is as follows:
**6:00pm:** Doors Open & Networking at [Kubrick](https://kubrickgroup.com/)
**6:30pm:** Talks Start
🗣️The Speakers🗣️
***Utilising Snowflake Openflow for Regulatory Reporting***
**Lucie Gamby**, Data Engineer at Entain ([Lucie's LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/luciegamby/))
***Talk Abstract***
Regulatory reporting often comes with a large list of requirements (in our case, an 80-page document full of them) alongside specific and complex business logic as a given. With a large volume of sensitive data to handle, we wanted a solution that would help keep our data within the same environment - hence the choice to explore Openflow as an option to facilitate our delivery to regulators. This session will cover what it took for our team to go from no prior knowledge or experience of Openflow to deploying a production-ready system with it. Demonstrations, What Went Wells, Pitfalls, and what we’d do differently next time!
***Speaker Bio***
Lucie graduated from Lancaster University with a degree in Computer Science in 2023 and joined the Sigma Labs graduate scheme in January 2024. After a 15-week coding fundamentals course, she specialised in Data Engineering, and then placed at Entain in June 2024. Having been exposed to a wide range of tools and platforms since, Lucie has since been tasked with leading the charge for her team to adopt Snowflake Openflow into the tech stack.
***Data Engineering: People, Patterns, Platforms***
**Yomi Bazuaye**, Data, Analytics and ML Engineering Leader ([Yomi's LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/yomibazuaye/))
***Talk Abstract:***
What should *your* data platform *do*? What should it *not* do? How should it harness AI? Stories and examples from building and scaling data platforms across multiple industry sectors and organisations.
***Speaker Bio:***
Yomi is a Data professional with many years of experience in data and analytics engineering. In recent years he has focussed on helping organisations build self-service data platforms, create data products and design and implement a data culture. He has worked within multiple sectors including online banking, e-commerce and supply chain, using multiple tech stacks, including: AWS, Snowflake, GCP, Azure, Databricks.
See you all on the 26th May 🤩

**PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A FREE EVENT. TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED HERE TO ATTEND:** [Singles Party london – Puttshack, Bank (Ages 28-42) – Tuesday, 26th May 2026 | True Dating](https://truedating.co.uk/events/mini-golf-singles-party-26-may-2026)
**Always wanted to try a singles event but thought they sounded way too awkward?**
Well, you’re not alone. As much as we think our regular singles events are amazing, we know they’re not for everyone. If you're the type who likes a bit of excitement (and we're not talking about roller coasters here) along with your romantic rendezvous, then this event might just be for you!
The event will kick off with groups of six as you head around the super fun 9 hole course, hopefully putting your way to romance.
Once everyone has been around the course we’ll have all the groups come together so you can meet everyone. As always our fantastic host will be on hand to help make introductions and ensure the smooth running of the event.
After the event, you'll be able to enter your matches via your True Dating account, and who knows, you might just be planning a second date!
And don't worry if you're feeling nervous because it's your first time, you're not alone! Many of our participants are first-timers too.
To ensure that our guests have the best possible experience, we always strive to maintain an equal ratio of men-to-women at all our events.
**Register for this event now! Places are limited and we do sell out the majority of our events so book now to avoid disappointment.**

Games night – Second Serve
Once a month, we slow things down.
No courts. No rushing. Just good food, easy conversation, and a social that actually feels… social.
This is the **Second Serve games night** — a more relaxed, sit-down version of the group.
📍 **Venue (Croydon / easy access)**
We rotate between:
* Cosy restaurants with bookable tables
* Private/semi-private dining spaces
* Quiet venues where we can actually hear each other
(Final location shared after approval)
🕒 **Format (Monthly Saturday)**
* **6:30 – 7:15pm** → Arrivals + dinner orders
* **7:15 – 8:15pm** → Dinner & natural conversation
* **8:15 – 9:45pm** → Games + guided social
* Wrap up on time — no dragging the night out
🎲 **The Twist (What makes this different)**
This isn’t just “dinner and hope for the best.”
We structure it lightly so it never gets awkward:
* Small tables (4–6 people max)
* Subtle **table rotations** (optional, not forced)
* Simple games that spark conversation, not competition
💬 **Conversation Style**
No cringe icebreakers.
We use light prompts that are easy to answer and easy to build on.
👥 **Who this is for**
* People who don’t want loud, chaotic nights
* People who actually want to talk and connect
* People who prefer structure over randomness
✅ **Approval & Attendance**
* RSVP approval required
* Limited seats (kept intentionally small)
* Priority goes to consistent attendees
👉 If you RSVP, we expect you there
(No-shows affect future approvals)
**The vibe**
A proper social.
Not loud. Not forced. Not endless.
Just a good evening, done right.
*Pictures and Videos may be taken for marketing purposes.*
*All attendees consent to the use of their pictures by The* Second Serve Social 🎾

Free in-person event: Take Control of Your Mental Health
It’s time to take control of your mental health. How do you get rid of stress, anxiety and uncertainty? These emotions are buried deep in your reactive mind. Find out what the reactive mind is, and in the process find yourself.
Have you ever suffered from a traumatic experience, a deep loss or been through a painful breakup? Has your ability to communicate suffered as a result? And after that, even though you "moved on" did you find that things were never quite the same? Have you ever looked at childhood photos, or reminisced your early life and wondered where that happiness and spark went?
Are your emotions out of your own control? Have you ever felt, even if you aren’t aware of it, that possibly you are getting in your own way of your happiness and success? How does this affect your self-confidence?
Find out what is at the root of all stress, anxiety, depression and self-doubt. Find out how and why you hold yourself back from achieving your goals and having the life you have dreamed of. As soon as you learn what is at the root of these unwanted conditions, you’ll see it is something you can DO something about. You will not be labeled or categorized at this MeetUp.
Columbus Yarn Club at the Grandview Heights Library
5:45-7:45 in Conference Room B, Library lower level. Bring your yarn projects, meet new friends.
If you plan to attend, please RSVP yes. If you can’t attend, please change your RSVP to no. This helps anyone who is waitlisted and it allows me to have an accurate count of attendees as our space is quite limited.
Plenty of parking in the lot, in the overflow lot across the street, and on the street.
See you there!
