Distance 73 Kms, 385m ascent Today we cycle out through north county Dublin’s quiet rural roads to reach Fourknocks Passage Tomb, a Neolithic tomb 5,000 years old on the border of counties Dublin and Meath: https://www.discoverboynevalley.ie/boyne-valley-drive/heritage-sites/four-knocks. A lovely route through north county Dublin. Here is our plan for the day. 1️⃣. We leave from St Anne’s Road Pocket Park, beside Drumcondra Train Station (corner of Drumcondra Road and St Anne’s Road ) at 9.30am. 2️⃣Cycle out the north city suburbs using mostly bike lanes, then through Santry Demesne park and on, passing St Margaret's, and onwards to Lispopple, Oldtown and on to Ardcath and Fourknocks on quiet rural roads, 3️⃣ We stop for a coffee in Oldtown, and also for coffee/lunch in Garristown village. 4️⃣ The return journey is via Garristown , Killsallaghan and St Margaret’s and through Ballymun before we finish in Drumcondra. All going well we should be back in Drumcondra by 3pm. * *Please note - It is every participant's responsibility to ride safely, follow the rules of the road, and come prepared with the proper equipment.* * *Please wear a helmet and bring a tube etc in case you get a puncture.* * *Please cycle single file on narrow busy roads* WAIVER & RELEASE: We are a group composed of volunteers.
