On Saturday, March 28, Americans in Barcelona — together with concerned locals and citizens from around the world — will once again join millions across the U.S. and around the world in a coordinated day of action to say loud and clear:
### **No Tyrants. The power belongs to the people.**
The U.S. Administration continues to escalate its attacks on democratic norms: undermining civil rights and social protections, manipulating voting rules for political gain, threatening free speech, targeting vulnerable communities, and concentrating power at the top.
This isn’t just politics. It’s democracy versus dictatorship —
**and together, we choose democracy.**
### 📣 Join us in Plaça Sant Jaume at noon for a peaceful, powerful protest featuring:
* Inspiring speakers, headlined by **[Reed Brody](https://www.hrw.org/about/people/reed-brody)** — international human rights lawyer and former New York State Assistant Attorney General
* Music
* Information on how to take action from abroad — including volunteers on hand to help Americans register to vote
🌍 **All nationalities welcome** - bring your friends, family, classmates, and colleagues.
☀️ **Rain or shine - we’ll be there.** Bring your SPF, a hat, or an umbrella just in case.
🪧 **Bring a sign** that expresses your voice - we will also have some extras to share.

**As SPAIN is a monarchy and *does* have a king, Democrats Abroad Barcelona will *NOT* be using the "No Kings" language, and we kindly ask that you please *NOT* bring signs with that phrase.**

At our last protests, with 200+ attendees, our ***sound system*** wasn’t strong enough for everyone to hear. **We're raising funds for a better system** so every voice carries across the plaza.
Donations will also help us provide **reflective vests** for our safety marshals, print **handouts**, and support ongoing **Get Out the Vote (GOTV)** efforts like **phonebanking** and **voter registration**.
We’re all volunteers in DA, but our tools and materials aren't free. **Please consider donating today** to power our protest and organizing work.

• Everyone is welcome. Treat all attendees with kindness and openness. Harassment, discrimination, or any form of harm will not be tolerated.

• Ask before engaging in any physical contact. If someone says “no,” please honor that without question.

• Wear clothing that allows free movement and expression. Let your outfit reflect your energy—whether it’s sensual, wild, or uniquely original to you. Layers can help you transition from energetic dance to a calm cooldown. There is a no-shoe policy inside 🦶

• This is a space for genuine human interaction. If possible, keep photos and videos to a minimum. Stay present in the shared experience.

• The doors open at **6:30 PM**.
• The journey start at 7:00 PM sharp!
• The doors close at 7:30 PM, and we do not offer refunds for late arrivals.
The opening ceremony sets the tone for the entire evening. Aim to arrive on time to fully participate in the grounding ritual.
**7. Stay Hydrated & Take Breaks 💦🍉**
• Dancing and movement can be intense. Feel free to take a break for water, rest, fresh air, or to enjoy some fresh 100% organic local farmer fruit whenever you need.
• We kindly discourage stepping out to smoke 🚭 and instead invite you to consider whether it’s worth interrupting your experience.

El Softcombat és una activitat esportiva en la qual, mitjançant armes embuatades (conegudes com boffers), es recreen combats medievals, es practiquen jocs d'equip i s'aprenen moviments marcials de combat. El Rol en Viu consisteix a afegir-li una acció més teatral i dramàtica a aquests enfrontaments.

Excursión por Riells del Fai - Rio, Gorgs y acantilados.
**NOTA :** La ruta que teniamos en el punto de mira de Tamariu a Aiguablava, se pospone para más adelante. En estas semanas se quiere aprovechar las lluvias de éstos meses, para realizar excursiones con zonas de agua.

\***Os paso los detalles de la excursión que organizará el próximo Sábado 28-3-26, por la zona de Riells del Fai**
**\*IMPORTANTE:** Hay algunos tramos que requieren cierta técnica y tener habilidad de paso. Hay que subir un muro de 1,5m dónde hay insertadas unas clavijas. También algunos pasos sobre roca de fuerte pendiente, que puede que estén húmedos.
-Oblogatorio: Calzado trekking / Opcional: Bastones.
**\*La ruta**: Como punto de encuentro compartido para todos, será en un [parquing de Riells del Fai](https://maps.app.goo.gl/A5eX4ajeT3L5HPTWA). En principio es un parquing de pago (3€ por vehículo y dia). Éstos dias la máquina expendedora no funciona y no se paga, hay acceso libre, sin control de ningún tipo.
Haremos un a ruta circular muy bonita con paisajes contrastados. Comenzaremos por el valle del Rio Tenes, dónde el rio y varias pozas muy bellas, estarán presente hasta la mitad de la excursión. Disfrutaremos de su compañía, realizando actividades varias. En el punto mas alejado, visitaremos las inmediaciones de Sant Miquel del Fai, un lugar muy pintoresco, y en éstas fechas con 2 cascadas impresionantes. El regreso lo haremos por un sendero que transita por lo alto de los acantilados, acompañados de Romero florido en todo el camino. Con muchos tramos de vistas panorámicas, con el sol de la tarde a nuestro Oeste como aliado. Una vez en el parquing, compartiremos el cierre, con el espacio de nutrición "casera", donativos y pago a los conductores.
-Durante la ruta tendremos espacios para el círculo de palabra compartido, compartiremos lecturas y temas de conciencia y espiritualidad, habrá música celta en directo, y momentos de silencio y meditación. Todo a un ritmo lento y sentido, orgánico, con la mejor intención de crear un ambiente sano, respetuoso, consciente y nutritivo para el alma, que ayude poco a poco a estar más atentos y presentes, conectando con lo que realmente somos, mientras vamos puliendo la identificación con nuestro personaje.

Humanist Program
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event.
We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change. Unchained At Last's mission clearly meshes and addresses several of our Humanist Ten Commitments. Becca will educate us about an issue many of us may not be familiar with--but should be.
Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk.
Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. You can meet us in-person or attend online
