Movement & Theatre improv drop in lesson with Suzan Lemont
Movement & Theatre improv drop in lesson with Suzan Lemont
Join us for a fun session of improv theatre in English! A great opportunity to meet new people in Utrecht and learn something new with Improv Utrecht. Everyone can partcipate, you don't need any experience in theatre nor fluency in English. **Special topic: Movement & Theatre improv** Movement improvisation is a wonderful basis for all other forms of improvisation. Well before we had language we had movement; there is so much that can be expressed without words. Instead of the games that are used in theater improv, we work mostly with “scores”, or a kind of blueprint to what will happen in a space of time. A kind of a structure. We will do exercises that originate from Viewpoints, physical theater, and other forms of improvisation (including a bit of Contact Improv at times), and moving in/with/through the space, non verbal contact and how we can communicate through our bodies. Anyone can participate, you don’t need any experience in movement or theater nor complete fluency in English. This workshop is without shoes: bring non-slippery socks In this session you will: * Meet fellow international and local players. * Learn the basics of improvisation, a 21st-century skill that is useful in many aspects of life. * Get out of your head. * Enjoy failing. * Play funny and moving theatre games. * Laugh a lot, while surprising yourself and others. Doors open: 19:50-20:00, come in with the others ([SIDE entrance, at the Troelstralaan](https://maps.app.goo.gl/ntLDUqbkDxMHjp7B7)). After 20:01 the door may be closed, but you may find a participant who knows the door code. Workshop: 20:00-22:00 Every Friday except in school holidays Afterwards we have drinks at [O'Leary's](https://maps.app.goo.gl/gL878K1MZf8v5fpm7) pub together ### How to sign up Full details about how to sign up and any other questions you may have can be [found on our website](https://www.improvutrecht.nl/drop-in-workshops/). An RSVP in this Meetup event is not enough! We track attendance by counting the attendants in GrasshopperSignup. If you flag yourself as attending and can no longer make it, please delete your x in the sheet so that someone else can take your spot. If you leave your contact details at the Signup form we will contact you if there is a problem with a drop-in you are scheduled to attend. We also have a WhatsApp group with a variety of members from across Utrecht where we share events and updates. You can find our courses and shows on [our website](https://www.improvutrecht.nl). Participation is pay-what-you-can, but we suggest a donation of €10-20 by cash or Tikkie to help cover costs (location, travel) and show your appreciation for our professional trainers who dedicate their Friday to promoting improv.

Paint & heal New year's vision
Paint & heal New year's vision
After a SOLD OUT edition last year, we are back with a Paint & heal new year's vision A paint workshop focused on letting go of the old and making space for the new. We will begin with journaling and drawing cards, to reflect on 2025 and clarify our intentions for 2026. Using meaningful images, such as photos, objects, or symbols that hold personal significance, you will create a unique and personal artwork. Instead of a traditional vision board, we will translate our intention / desires into a painting. I ask you to bring inspiration in the form of images, colors, shapes, symbols that reflect your vision/energy for the new year ( I will also have books/magazines as inspiration). This could be inspired on things from 2025 that you wish to release, or things you want to welcome in 2026. While painting, you will literally and figuratively bring these insights to life, grounding your intentions in a powerful and creative way. Date 19/12 Time 18:45 / 22h (Walk in 18:45/19:00, we start at 19:00) Location Heesterveld 132A Amsterdam ( Cheap parking close to atelier- or Metro station Bullewijk directly next to the atelier ) Investment €60 Ga naar www.nonimadeleine.com > to join Bring your journal / photo(s) Snacks, drinks and materials included

COLLAGE ART: Thanking 2025, Welcoming 2026 ✂️✨
🧃 This Sunday we get together to thank 2025 and visualize our 2026. You will make your personal collage, and take it home as a visual reminder for your wishes for this year. ✂️ If you have, bring magazines, pictures, books, texts, that we can cut. And your favourite scissors. I'll provide some too. 🔮 This is the fourth edition of this workshop because I believe in the importance of giving space to our creativity in everyday life, and receiving its magic. It really works ;) 💌 Invite your loved ones and let us know if you are joining. Donation-based. ✨ Hope to see you there! Thank you, Luz

Radical Acceptance: Letting Go of Self-Judgment
Radical Acceptance: Letting Go of Self-Judgment
Join us for an open, grounded conversation inspired by Tara Brach’s work on Radical Acceptance — the practice of meeting our thoughts, emotions, and life circumstances with clarity and compassion instead of self-criticism or resistance. You don’t need any background in meditation or psychology to join. We’ll explore accessible ideas such as: * The “trance of unworthiness” — the quiet belief that something is wrong with us * How resistance and self-judgment amplify stress * What acceptance actually means (and why it is not passivity) * The RAIN method: a simple, practical way to work with difficult emotions * How compassion creates real emotional freedom This is a relaxed, supportive space where you choose your level of participation. Sharing is optional; listening is welcome. The focus is on understanding ourselves better, building emotional resilience, and having an honest conversation about being human. Who’s this for? Anyone interested in mindfulness, emotional growth, or easing self-judgment. First-timers welcome. What to bring: Optional journal or notes, comfortable clothing, and an open mind. Tone: Warm, steady, non-judgmental. This is not therapy and not a meditation class — just thoughtful dialogue and practical insights.

For just **$15**, you’ll get a **3D-printed regiment of 20 high quality resin models** of your choice to paint — a **$40 value!** Bring your creativity, relax, and let’s make something awesome together. **Choose one from Below:** * 20 Orc Warriors * 20 Empire Soldiers * 20 Dwarf Warriors * 20 Elf Spearmen Step into a world where strategy meets artistry — and where every painted figure tells a story of battle, honor, and imagination. Join **Daclaud** at **The Arcane Foundry** for an evening that introduces newcomers and enthusiasts alike to the timeless craft of **tabletop wargaming** and **miniature painting**. My own journey began with a fascination for fantasy — knights in armor, grim and hardened warriors, and monstrous creatures locked in epic battle. That passion led me to **Dungeons & Dragons**, where I painted my first **Basic Heroes set** and felt the spark that comes from bringing a character to life in miniature form. Not long after, I discovered **Warhammer Fantasy** and **Warhammer 40,000**, and I was hooked. The vision of vast armies clashing across the table — each unit meticulously painted, each story unfolding through dice and imagination — became my creative obsession. During this event, we’ll explore the **origins of wargaming**, from its early military simulations to the richly detailed worlds of modern tabletop battle systems. You’ll learn how to **build and customize your own armies**, paint your first figures, and experience the joy of turning strategy and storytelling into a hands-on art form. Whether you’re drawn by the lore, the hobby, or the thrill of commanding miniature legions, this introduction will open the gates to a world that has captivated hobbyists for generations. **🎨 RSVP today and join us at The Arcane Foundry — where every brushstroke and battle tells a story.**
