Learn and Practice Tai Chi
Learn and Practice Tai Chi
Tai Chi is an old Chinese art that is often described as "mediation in motion." At the physical level, Tai Chi is a form of low-impact exercise appropriate for all ages. All levels of learners including beginners are welcome. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and good supportive shoes (tennis shoes are usually good). We will be exercising, but not too heavily, so we recommend bringing a full water bottle. There is no charge for the class, but donations for the Temple upkeep and utilities are welcome.

QiGong Level 1 Healing Form
QiGong Level 1 Healing Form
Qigong literally means life energy cultivation. With roots in Chinese medicine, philosophy, and martial arts, it is a moving meditation practice that balances and activates the Qi (chi) or life force in the body. Qigong combines physical postures, breathing techniques, and focused intentions. The practices can be classified as martial, medical, or spiritual. It is a highly effective health care practice, many report improvements in physical or mental ailments as well as connecting to their true inner nature. Blood and Qi have a very close relationship. Blood is said to be a denser form of Qi, and more Yin in nature. Qi generates, moves and holds the blood, while Blood nourishes the Qi. The gentle, rhythmic movements of Qigong reduce stress, build stamina, increase vitality, and enhance the immune system. It has also been found to improve cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic and digestive functions. One of the more important long-term effects is that Qigong reestablishes the body/mind/soul connection. When these three aspects of our being are integrated, it encourages a positive outlook on life and helps eliminate harmful attitudes and behaviors. It also creates a balanced life style, which brings greater harmony, stability, and enjoyment! “If you want to LIVE TO BE 100, learn Qigong!” – Dr. Mehmet Oz, Contributor to Oprah Show And, speaking of age, anyone can do Qigong, from 5 year olds to 95 year olds! Any body shape or condition as well can be improved. If you can’t stand for very long, you can see results from doing Qigong while sitting. There was even a case of a person who made great improvements doing Qigong while lying in their bed! Jacqui has been practicing diligently, and is now a Certified Instructor by the Supreme Science Qigong Center in the Level One Healing Form. Come join us at Rising Phoenix. Only $15.00 a class! We are so excited to show you how to follow the Qi! Please RSVP by 8 AM on the day of class. You can RSVP here on Meetup, or call us at 703-257-7522.

Join us ***in person* at the Brahma Kumaris Virginia Center** as we come together as a community to participate in a live Zoom class with BK Shila Sanghani. This shared experience offers a nurturing space to gently reconnect with yourself and realign your inner world. Our breath is one of the most profound tools for self-regulation, peace, and inner harmony. Through conscious breathing, we open the body’s meridians and energy pathways, activating the natural life force that supports healing on every level. From this heightened state of awareness, the mind becomes clearer, the body more relaxed, and the spirit more expansive. In this **weekly session**, you’ll be guided through simple yogic breathing practices and light stretching exercises that refresh the body, calm the mind, and uplift the heart. These techniques are accessible for all levels and offer a beautiful way to reset and recharge. BK Shila Sanghani, a certified yoga instructor based in the Chicago metro area, brings years of experience facilitating workshops, national retreats, and collaborative programs with medical professionals.
