Prioritising what matters workshop
Prioritising what matters workshop
🧭 Prioritising What Matters Most In January, we did the **Vision Boarding** workshop 🖼️ Big ideas. Big feelings. Big “ah yes, this is the life” energy. And then… Monday happened. 😐 This workshop is about what comes **after** the vision: 👉 **What do you actually do next when everything feels important and your brain has simply left the chat?** If your to-do list currently: * Stares back at you menacingly 👁️ * Has items from 2019 still “in progress” * Feels like a moral judgement instead of a tool ✨ welcome ✨ We’re taking your existing vision and turning it into **clear priorities and doable tasks**, without shame, hustle, or pretending you’re powered by unlimited spoons. ### 🛠️ What we’ll do (chaos → clarity pipeline) * Use **values** as a decision filter (not a personality test, promise) 🧽 * Narrow things down to **3–5 values that matter *right now*** (everyone else can wait) * Do a quick **life audit** to find where your energy is thriving vs. quietly escaping through the vents 🪫 * Translate all that into: * A short list of priorities that actually deserve your time 🎯 * Habits that won’t immediately start a rebellion 😤 * One-off tasks with a suspiciously high payoff 💥 * Apply the **TOP framework** (Time-pressure × Outcome ÷ Perspiration) so you’re not spinning the “what should I do?” wheel every day 🎡 ### 💬 Plot twist: you will talk to people This is a **social workshop** 🤝 There will be: * Pair chats * Occasional “oh wow same” moments No forced sharing. No spotlight anxiety. You can participate by talking, listening, nodding, or aggressively highlighting your worksheet. All valid. ### 🧠 Who it’s for Neurodivergent folks (ADHD, autistic, AuDHD, gloriously neurospicy 🌶️) who: * Came to the Vision Boarding workshop and want the *actual follow-through (but it's ok if you didn't come to it 😅)* * Have a vision but a to-do list that has become a cry for help 🆘 * Are tired of productivity systems that assume you wake up refreshed and motivated every day ### 📍 The extremely important logistics 🗓 **Sunday 15 February** ⏰ **1.30pm – 3.30pm** 📍 **Sandringham Library** Worksheets provided ✍️ No pressure to overshare 🙅 Low-energy attendance fully respected 😴💚 Same vision. Fewer tabs. Better priorities. Let’s make your to-do list less cursed. 🪄🧠

GREAT OCEAN ROAD & WILDLIFE EXPERIENCE
GREAT OCEAN ROAD & WILDLIFE EXPERIENCE
Explore the Great Ocean Road in a small group of 10. Enjoy ethical wildlife, Chocolatery, the Twelve Apostles and Wildlife Park with snacks, a free drink, instant photo and carbon-offset tree planting This Great Ocean Road day tour is designed for travelers who want more than a standard sightseeing loop. With a maximum of 10 guests, the experience focuses on storytelling, ethical wildlife encounters, honest pricing, and responsible travel. By booking this tour, you support protected wildlife and nature through our tree-planting carbon offset program. Everything listed is included in the price — no hidden fees, no upgrades, and no pressure to spend more during the day. Instead of rushing between stops, the itinerary is carefully paced to allow time to explore, listen, and connect with the landscape. A journey with meaning Leaving Melbourne, the day begins with a relaxed stop at a local chocolaterie, giving everyone time to settle in and get to know the group. From there, the journey follows the iconic Great Ocean Road, where every stop is tied together with stories rather than scripts. At the Memorial Arch, learn why this road is considered the world’s largest war memorial, built by returned soldiers and shaped by resilience and history. Ethical wildlife, done right Rather than relying on chance roadside sightings, this tour includes a visit to the Great Ocean Road Wildlife Park. Here, native animals are viewed in a supervised, expert-led environment that prioritizes animal welfare and guest safety. This approach supports conservation education while avoiding uncontrolled interactions with wildlife. Iconic coast, unhurried Feel the scale of the Southern Ocean as you descend the Gibson Steps to sea level. Spend quality time at the Twelve Apostles, with space to explore, photograph, and absorb the scenery without feeling rushed. Continue to Loch Ard Gorge, where dramatic cliffs frame one of the Great Ocean Road’s most powerful shipwreck stories. Designed routes, not repetition The tour travels along the coast on the way out and returns via an inland route, offering different landscapes and a more engaging journey rather than repeating the same road twice. Honest, all-inclusive experience There are no extra charges during the tour. Complimentary snacks, a free drink, and a printed Instax instant photo are included as personal touches. Lunch and dinner are not included by design, allowing flexibility for different dietary needs, preferences, and beliefs. To give back to the environment, trees are planted to offset the carbon emissions created by this tour, ensuring each journey contributes positively to the landscapes visited. **Why choose this tour** • Small group of maximum 11 guests • All prices included — no hidden fees • Ethical, expert-led wildlife experience • Complimentary drink, snacks & instant photo • Coastal drive out, inland return • Carbon-offset tree planting • Calm pace with meaningful storytelling Who this tour is for This experience is ideal for travelers who value quality over crowds, care about animal welfare and sustainability, and want a day that feels thoughtfully designed rather than mass-produced. **Highlights** * Small-group tour with a maximum of 11 guests for a relaxed pace * Ethical wildlife experience guided by experts, not roadside encounters * Visit Gibson Steps, Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge unhurried * All-inclusive pricing with snacks, drink and instant photo included * Carbon-offset touring with trees planted to balance tour emissions ### Inclusions Small-group transport (max 11 guests) Professional local guide Entry to Great Ocean Road Wildlife Park Complimentary drink Snacks throughout the day Free instant printed photo (take-home souvenir) Carbon offset through tree planting All listed stops and experiences ### Exclusions Lunch and dinner are not included by design. Philosophy of Friendship: What are the bases of "friendship"?
Philosophy of Friendship: What are the bases of "friendship"?
As you may or may not know--I didn't until late last year--Aristotle wrote extensively on "friendship" in the Nicomachean Ethics. After 69 years the concept of friendship still creates questions and uncertainty. I had close friends in high school and for a few years after high school but our interests diverged and people moved all over the country so it was hard to maintain connections. * So if I/you haven't talked with a friend for several years, are you still friends? Are we friends who meet at Drunken Philosophy or Omnipresent Atheists? * Can you be friends with someone with whom you have virulently divergent political views? Sartre and Camus could not. * Aristotle regarded friendship as essential to a good life, not merely an added "bonus." Do you agree? * In the Nicomachean Ethics (Books VIII and IX), he claims that wealth and power are meaningless without friends. Trump has wealth and power but seems to have no real friends, but wealth and power seem meaningful to him in perverted ways. Can you have meaning in your life without friends? * Do men and women view and maintain friendships in different ways? * Aristotle categorizes friendship into three types, based on what forms the bond: * **Utility**: Based on mutual benefit, but this type is fragile and ends when the usefulness ceases. * **Pleasure**: Based on shared enjoyment (e.g., humor, hobbies). Common among youth but fades as interests change. * **Virtue (The "Complete" Friendship)**: Based on mutual respect for each other's character and goodness. You wish good for the other for their sake, not yours. * **Key Principles of "True" (Virtuous) Friendship:** * **Permanence**: Virtuous friendships last a lifetime whereas those based on utility and pleasure are fleeting. * **Reciprocity**: Requires mutual goodwill; secret or unreciprocated affection does not qualify. * **The "Second Self"**: A true friend is "another self"—their virtue helps you understand and improve yourself. * **Time and Intimacy**: Deep ("complete") friendships are few, built on time and shared experiences. * **Self-Love and Friendship:** * Good friendship starts with being a friend to yourself. * They distinguish shallow egoism (chasing honors) from real self-love (pursuing virtue). * A virtuous person’s pleasant self-company allows them to be a stable, good friend to others. * Aristotle argues that one's social circle ultimately reflects one's character—a view with striking relevance today. Well--the Drunken Philosophy social circle certainly reflects good character!

Comedy Night + Open Mic
Comedy Night + Open Mic
**Comedy Night + Open Mic + Freestyle**: We've hired a professional comedian to warm the group up for our open mic session. Members have been making me laugh for years and we've tossed around the idea of a comedy night / open mic. Well, It's time to step up and crack me up. We'll start with Tristan Shae and a couple of his friends. Tristan is an alternative comic from Columbus, Ohio. A counselor by day, Tristan explores how comedy can improve mental health by telling jokes and stories that muse on how absurd life can be from squeaky clean topics to not so clean ones. Tristan produces the variety show Cheaper Than Therapy, hosts the weekly Problem Child Alt Comedy Open Mic at The Attic, and can be found engaging in all sorts of silliness around the city from stand up shows at The Nest Theater, The Attic, or The Funny Bone, to improv and sketch shows with various groups at various venues such as The Hashtag Comedy Club. **On Freestyle night** \- just bring a bottle to share\. There is NO formal wine tasting like on other weeks\. Door charge is $10 \(cash or Venmo only please\)\. We may have some left over wines to clear out\! Glasses are provided\. Take Care\. See you there\. **Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby. I am told that the Chase parking lot is safe after hours. **Glasses**: …will be provided. Please note that after the wine tasting, the EMPTY glasses need to be returned to the boxes at the service table. Please do not make me hunt down your empty glass. Please be gentle, our glasses are fragile. Uh, they are made of glass! **Food**: You are welcome to bring a snack to share. It is not required. Most people do though. If no one brings anything, there will be nothing. **Code of Conduct**: Though mostly understood, it’s still worth mentioning. We don’t have rules per se, but we highly discourage the following topics of discussion because they are likely to incite anti-social responses - Sex, Politics, Religion. Please don’t mistake this as an attempt to limit your free speech rights but rather a guide to a place and time for appropriate discussions. **After the lights go out**: After the last sip of wine, when we clean up and turn the lights out, if you still haven’t had enough of us, it is typical for a group to get together and go to a local eatery for food and/or drinks or coffee. Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends. Sincerely, ***Paul Uttermohlen***, **Red 1 Realty** *Your Hilliard Wine Club Host*
