Tomorrow, we’ve gathered different mangoes from Canadian supermarkets, and and with special thanks to our group member Kay, we've even managed to source some incredibly rare, premium Indian mangoes. We invite everyone to come out and do a proper side-by-side taste test! * **Time**: Saturday (June 13th) at 2:30 PM * **Location**: Brookfield Place: 181 Bay St. · Toronto, ON * **Theme**: Cross-Variety Mango Flavor & Texture Comparison **📋 The Mango Lineup:** 1. **The Rare Indian Gems**: Alphonso / Kesar / Dasheri 2. **The Canadian Supermarket Staples**: Tommy Atkins / Haden / Ataulfo / Kent, etc. **📌 Crucial Note (Please Read):** Because the rare Indian varieties (Alphonso, Kesar, and Dasheri) were generously gifted by a friend, **we only have 4 of them in total across all three varieties**. ***\*Both In-Person & Private Live-Streaming*** **The word anatta** – which means no permanently abiding self – is at the very heart and core of Buddhist meditation practice, yet it is one of its most misunderstood concepts. **When we explore anatta** through our meditation practice, it doesn’t mean we’re trying to get rid of who we are; it means we’re becoming more and more willing to see through the small, false, often negative ideas or beliefs of what we call “self.” **In actuality,** we are so much bigger than who or what we think we are. In fact, we are not only vast, but constantly fluid and changing: new in each moment, and dying in each moment … much like waves on the ocean. **During this silent meditation retreat,** we’ll be exploring anatta through various teachings, along with meditations designed to help us loosen our tenacious grip on the ego and sense of “self,” so that we can experience more freedom, peace, and ease in our lives. **The format will include** both guided and silent meditation, a dharma talk, and walking meditation both inside and on the lovely, spacious church grounds. Lunch will be in silence, and participants are asked to bring their own. **We’ll be gathering for our retreat on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5:00 p.m** in the beautiful St. Francis Episcopal Church in Great Falls, VA. Instead of overthinking the past, we’ll explore how to **reset direction for what’s next** — through thoughtful conversation, new perspectives, and the kind of questions that spark real insight. We’ll start with a few short conversation rounds designed to spark reflection, humor, and perspective — and then continue the discussion over food and relaxed conversation. Think **good food, grounded people, and real conversations about what comes next in life.** Held in our **Startup Garage** — a bright, comfortable living-room style space inside a single-family home. This is an **event at 1801 Robert Fulton Dr., Reston, VA 20191** (All participants must have RSVP'd). We continue exploring the foundational Buddhist sutra: the **Heart Sutra**. This the shortest sutra but the most fundamental. Our meeting schedule will be as follows: * **40 minutes:** Sitting meditation * **5 minutes:** Break * **45 minutes:** Group discussion of the Heart Sutra. During the sitting meditation session, we will provide you with a non-roller chair (or feel free to bring in your own meditation pad/pillow).
