*Location Change * Since Freedom Plaza is under construction, we will meet at the plaza in front of The International Trade Center near the National Children's Museum (on Pennsylvania Ave). We'll begin with going over a few drills (varies week to week). The skills we drill will be for the first 30 minutes. For the second half, we will casually skate down the bike lanes on Pennsylvania Avenue from the plaza to the U.S.Capitol and stop at 3rd St. and then skate back the same route. This route is about 2 miles in total and is perfect for those who are new to skating in the city but feel comfortable on skates in a parking lot or roller rink. This is also great if you wish to start with shorter routes to increase your physical fitness or stamina for some of the other routes. This is an excellent opportunity to prepare to skate with others on the road. You will also get to meet skaters who will arrive for the Intermediate and Advanced skate routes following the introductory skate. This is great training to feel prepared for the Tuesday Night and Friday Night Skate! This Sunday, we’re leaving the construction at Freedom Plaza behind and heading south for a classic run down the Potomac. With **Ian** leading the charge, we’re hitting the Mount Vernon Trail for a day of smooth pavement and scenic views. ### 📍 Meeting Details * **WHERE:** The corner of **14th and E St NW** (Entrance to the WWI Memorial, right across from the Willard Hotel). * **MEET:** 10:00 AM for lace-ups and intros. * **ROLL:** 10:10 AM sharp. Don't be the one chasing the pack! ### 🗺️ The Route We’ll kick off from Pershing Park, slicing through the city via 15th Street to the Jefferson Memorial. From there, we’ll cross the George Mason Memorial Bridge and catch our breath (and maybe a plane landing) at **Gravelly Point** before locking into the Mount Vernon Trail all the way to Alexandria. *** ### ⚡ Choose Your Adventure We have two tiers today depending on how much "burn" you want in your Sunday: **1\. The Intermediate Cruise \(17 Miles\)** Perfect for a solid weekend workout. We’ll roll through Alexandria via Union Street to our main break at **Jones Point Park**. Ocho de Bastos first event this year is at the art blooms festival at Mosaic District in Virginia. I know several members of our group, also known as groupies, will not mind crossing the river. I am including a map to help us find the stage. Bring a chair in case you need to pause from dancing. There will be free shuttle buses from the Dunn Loring metro station.

By paying close attention to light, shadow, texture, and perspective, photographers can reveal new interpretations of sculptures, highlighting details, moods, and relationships that may not be immediately visible to the naked eye. Through guided looking and hands-on practice in the galleries, students will learn how camera position, framing, depth of field, and timing transform solid, static objects into dynamic photographic images. Whether isolating a gesture, emphasizing scale, or experimenting with abstraction, this class encourages photographers to move beyond documentation and toward personal expression, using sculpture as a powerful starting point for visual storytelling. Whether you’re new to photography or looking to deepen your practice, this class invites you to see the sculpture and your creative process in fresh ways. In this class you will learn to: 1.
