!ENGLISH! MONDAY DOUBLE SESSION / CAFE - Philosophy Meetup: 19:30h - 21h
Hi and welcome to our next Socrates Café philosophy meetup!
Do you have a hunger for deeper understanding of yourself and the world? Do you value deep, honest and respectful dialogue?
If yes, then this meetup will be very interesting for you.
âą WHAT IS A MEETUP ABOUT?
We ask, answer and discuss questions and ideas to stimulate critical thinking and to widen our perspectives with new concepts and thoughts.
The main purpose of these meetups is to enrich ourselves with the perspectives of others, not to convince others about our own perspectives.
Our meetups are about our own philosophies of life and not necessarily what the great philosophers and academics have said or written. It is not a debating club or a platform for proselytizing. Instead, we place the emphasis on questioning, open mindedness and challenging our own assumptions while listening to and respecting the views shared by others.
A Socrates Café meetup is considered a success when participants leave a discussion with many more questions than they had at the beginning.
âą WHAT TOPIC IS DISCUSSED AT THE MEETUP?
Participants suggest topics at the beginning of each meeting. We then vote and choose that event's most popular topic for discussion. No academic training in philosophy necessary; just enthusiasm for exchanging ideas and points of view.
Some examples of subjects chosen on previous meetups:
* What ideals are worth dying for?
* Why are we never satisfied?
* Why is it that human beings know that the society is going wrong, leaders are well informed about it and things continue as is?
* Is identity necessary?
* How can it be that people in democratic societies are so obsessed with power? (Desire to be different, better, stronger than others)
* What is friendship?
âą WHO PARTICIPATES AT THIS MEETUP?
Anybody is more than welcome to join our meetups. Our events gather people from different backgrounds, different cultures, while no philosophical background is mandatory.
Our usual participants are people that have a hunger for deeper understanding of themselves and the world. People that value deep, honest and respectful dialogue.
The inspiration for Socrates Cafe originates with the book of the same name, written by the philosopher Christopher Phillips. (Socrates Cafe: A Fresh Taste of Philosophy, 2002). Phillips felt that the Socratic method of dialogue and discussion should be practiced not just in academic settings, but among everyday people interested in examining deep questions together. Hundreds of Socrates Cafe groups now exist around the world. Philosophical Psychological Walk
# Philosophical Psychology
**Welcome to Philosophical Psychology!**
This group is a space for curious minds who believe that understanding the human psyche requires more than data and diagnoses â it demands deep reflection and a willingness to sit with important questions.
Join us on our Walks, where we philosophize about life and share our wisdom as we walk through parks and nature.
The main goal is to get together and share our views on life and the world around us.
We will examine one specific question during this walk. Depending on the group size, we will select some speakers who will share their views on this topic, then some strengths and weaknesses, before we wrap it up with everyone sharing their views.
We gather at the intersection of **psychological science** and **practical philosophy** to examine the questions that neither discipline can fully answer alone:
The question for this walk is: What is the Good Life?
Hope to see you there.
Best,
Didi

Circle Song: Improvised Body Music
**Invitation**
**We are the instruments.**
A participatory, improvised, embodied practice that reconnects us to one another through rhythm, voice, and play.
This is a guided yet fully improvised experience, using the facilitation tools and methods of [Musica do Circulo](https://www.musicadocirculo.com/en). No prior experience is required, only an openness to connect with other humans in your own fun, light and authentic way.
Circle songs are an invitation into a fully immersive, fully improvised musical experience using vocals, body percussion and movement. It draws inspiration from musical embodied rhythm practices from around the world, including call-and-response singing, rhythmic clapping games and circle song traditions.
*"We are doing something that is so human and so needed, something that we've forgotten." - Igor, circle participant May 2025*
Simply by standing in a circle and connecting with our bodies as our instruments, we are reminded that we can find joy and meaning right here in this present moment, and in the next.
**This event is donation-based. What does this mean?**
It means pay if and what you can, so that everyone can join. It also means spreading the word and bringing your friends to keep this going strong!

Register at the Columbus AWS meetup: [https://www.meetup.com/columbus-aws-amazon-web-services-meetup/events/313426379/](https://www.meetup.com/columbus-aws-amazon-web-services-meetup/events/313426379/)
Over a billion documents processed. Millions of Veterans impacted. Hundreds of thousands of employee hours saved. Faster decisions. Greater accuracy. More benefits in the hands of our disabled Veterans.
We created Smart Search, the worldâs largest consumer of Amazon Textract, right when GenAI began reshaping whatâs possible. Since then, weâve built a suite of AIâdriven solutions that transform this data into real, measurable outcomesâaccelerating benefits decisions for our Nationâs Veterans.
Join us for a focused conversation on how an outcomeâdriven approach to AI is helping us boost accuracy, streamline workflows, and deliver faster results for those who have served.
This is a follow up to the AWS re:Invent 2023 "Intelligent Document Processing with Gen AI for Public Sector" presentation.

Battle of the personal agents
Join the Columbus AI community for a special event.
**Battle of the Personal Agents** is your chance to see what people are actually building with AI agents and personal automation systems. Whether youâre running OpenClaw, Hermes, or a completely custom solution, bring your agent and show the community how it works.
Weâre interested in real-world implementations: the problems your agent solves, how you use it day-to-day, how itâs hosted and managed, how you built it, and why youâve chosen to keep using it. Live demonstrations are encouraged, so be prepared to show your code, architecture, workflows, and your agent performing real tasks.
This is less about polished presentations and more about sharing practical experience, comparing approaches, and learning from one another. If youâd like to present, please contact Chris Slee (via meetup) before the event so we can allocate enough time for everyoneâs demonstrations.
Come ready to show what youâve built, discover what others are doing, and maybe find a few ideas worth taking home.
Whether youâre deep in the field or just getting curious, come connect with others building and exploring AI in Columbus.
