Whether you're just getting started or want to try something new, this class is about visual exploration without any level pressure. Together, we’ll swap the fear of getting it wrong for the fun of discovering what’s possible. In the drawing days, we’ll cover the basics like shapes, shading, and perspective, and try out approaches like still life, improvisation, and life drawing. 12 Drawing/Printmaking Sessions This is an art class that brings together the freedom of drawing and the playfulness of printmaking! All in a cozy, welcoming space of Zimmerli atelier and Mathias Gentinetta’s Workshop! In the printmaking days, we’ll experiment with: * TETRA PAK PRINTING turning recycled cartons into art * MONOTYPE spontaneous, expressive mark-making * COLLAGRAPHS using natural and found textures to create prints * LINOPRINT / WOODCUT traditional technique of printmaking with open possibilities of experimentation. * COLLECTIVE PRINTMAKING Big scale print from everyones prints. * ENGRAVING / ETCHING Printmaking lessons will be with Mathias Gentinetta and Artemis Tsakiri. Welcome to the first meeting of the 20th Century World Literature Book Club Zurich! For our first book, we’ll be reading *Chronicle of a Death Foretold*, a short, gripping, and beautifully written novel by Colombian author and Nobel Prize winner Gabriel García Márquez. First published in 1981, it tells the story of a killing that everyone knows is coming, yet somehow no one stops. We’ll meet in English for a friendly, open discussion. No academic background is needed — just read the book, bring your thoughts, and join the conversation. This first book has been chosen by the organizer to get the club started. After our book club is actively underway, future reads will be selected through member nominations and voting. Looking forward to meeting fellow readers and kicking things off together in April!

Our April read is **_Martyr!_ by Kaveh Akbar.** The story follows a young Iranian American poet grappling with grief, addiction, and the aching question of what makes a life meaningful. Drawn into an unexpected friendship with a terminally ill artist, he begins to confront faith, love, and the seduction of self-destruction. Lyrical, darkly funny, and emotionally piercing, the novel wrestles with beauty and despair in equal measure. It’s a story about longing—to be seen, to be forgiven, and to matter.
