Join us for some focused writing time. All writers and all experience levels are welcome and don’t worry, no one will see what you've written. This session is about getting your writing done and meeting other writers in your area. When you show up, say hello to everyone, grab a drink, and get your writing tools ready. Once you’re all settled, take some time to chat with your fellow writers. Once everyone’s arrived, I will lead quick introductions and then set the timer for our quiet and focused writing session. Afterward, we’ll have time to chat and get to know each other. We often talk about our successes and challenges as writers. If you don’t have time to stick around, no worries! **A note about the format** We don’t host critiques or readings. These events are a safe space for writers of all skill levels and genres to work on their craft, so no one will read or critique your writing. DataTalks x april: The Rise of Tabular ML
DataTalks x april: The Rise of Tabular ML
Our next **DataTalks TLV meetup** will explore one of the most exciting emerging directions in machine learning: **Tabular Foundation Models**. For decades, structured data problems have been dominated by tree-based models like XGBoost and Random Forest. While deep learning transformed NLP and vision, it consistently struggled to outperform classical methods in tabular settings. Over the past year, a new paradigm has begun reshaping the field — bringing foundation model thinking into structured data. *** ## The Talk 🌐 **From Trees to Transformers: The Rise of Tabular Foundation Models** Speaker: Alan Arazi In this session, Alan will: * Provide a clear overview of the tabular learning landscape * Explain why deep learning historically underperformed on tabular tasks * Introduce TabPFN — a breakthrough model trained to perform Bayesian inference over tabular datasets * Dive into how it is trained, how it works, and what makes it fundamentally different * Discuss what this shift means for the future of data science This talk is designed for ML practitioners, researchers, and data professionals who want to understand what comes after gradient boosting and how foundation models may finally unlock deep learning’s potential for structured data. *** ## ‍‍About the Speaker 👨🏻‍🏫 Alan Arazi is a PhD candidate at the Technion under Prof. Roi Reichart, researching Tabular Foundation Models. After five years working with large language models at AI21, he joined Prior Labs — the company behind TabPFN — where he works at the frontier of structured data modeling. *** ## Location📍 * April Offices * 7 Totseret HaAretz St., Tel Aviv-Yafo * Networking and Q&A included. We hope to see you there!
Philosophy Group Meeting -- Hebrew
Philosophy Group Meeting -- Hebrew
Join us in the search for the true, the good and the beautiful. Each meet is in one of two formats: a shared reading and open discussion of philosophical texts, or a continuing series of lectures based on the reading of a fascinating book of philosophy. Both formats are in Hebrew, with some reading of English texts, assisted whenever needed. We meet weekly Friday on 80 Rokach Boulevard, Tel Aviv, at the gardens of the Council for a Beautiful Israel. Welcome anyone interested in understanding life more deeply, regardless of age or prior knowledge. The love of wisdom is enough. Please join our WhatsApp group: https://chat.whatsapp.com/JeAa2uRNTlF0rdrVTLzUC0?mode=wwt Note: there's always enough sitting room, but some of it is on the grass or a mat on the floor. If you want to guarantee yourself a chair, please bring one with you. Sapere Aude! (Kant's Motto: Dare to Think!)

Spring Weekend Retreat
Spring Weekend Retreat
Ready for an overnight retreat? Our weekend retreats are a great place to start if you’ve established a mindfulness practice or taken a mindfulness class and you’re ready to take it to the “next level.” A weekend retreat is also a wonderful way to renew and refresh a long-standing practice. Our lives as mindfulness practitioners deepen when we’re ready to enter into the sustained practice of retreat. This residential retreat will be held mostly in silence at the beautiful [Samish Island Campground and Retreat Center](https://www.campsamish.org/) and will include a series of gently guided mindfulness practices including sitting meditation, walking meditation, gentle yoga, and the body scan. Informative talks on the process of being on retreat, mindfulness, stress reactivity, and other topics will be presented by the instructor. Small and large group discussion at the beginning and end of the weekend will center around our experience together walking, sitting, and breathing in the quiet of the beautiful retreat site. ### SCHEDULE DETAILS * Starts Friday with 4pm – 5pm check in followed by dinner and an orientation, after which we will begin our silence. * Saturday is a full day of silent practice (6:30am to 8:30pm with breaks after the meals). * Sunday is a short morning practice period, followed by breakfast and closing activities. * The retreat concludes at about noon on Sunday after cabin clean up, with a sack lunch provided for the road. **LEARN MORE & REGISTER HERE:** [https://mindfulnessnorthwest.com/events/spring-weekend-retreat-samish-mar-27-26-tim/](https://mindfulnessnorthwest.com/events/spring-weekend-retreat-samish-mar-27-26-tim/) ### LOCATION [Samish Island Campground and Retreat Center](https://mindfulnessnorthwest.com/venues/samish-island-campground-and-retreat-center/) ### COST **$355 - $635** (or $89 - $159/month) * **[Sliding scale](https://mindfulnessnorthwest.com/about/program-policies/#sliding-scale-fees):** Choose what’s right for you. * **Payment plan option:** 4-months, no-interest. * **Limited scholarships available:** No need to apply; just choose a scholarship tuition during registration. * **Lodging:** Rustic cabin is included in reservation. The Arts & Community: Creativity as a Catalyst for Connection
The Arts & Community: Creativity as a Catalyst for Connection
What role do the arts play in building strong, vibrant communities? How can creativity bring people together across differences, spark dialogue, and strengthen our shared sense of belonging? Join us for an open, engaging discussion on how visual art, music, theater, literature, film, and public art contribute to community life. Whether you’re an artist, arts supporter, educator, organizer, or simply someone who values culture, this conversation is for you. We’ll explore questions such as: * How do the arts create connection across cultural, generational, and social divides? * Can creative expression help communities heal after conflict or crisis? This is a dialogue — not a lecture — designed to surface diverse perspectives and lived experiences. Expect thoughtful conversation and opportunities to imagine new possibilities together. **All are welcome.**
Finding What Has Energy - Creative Direction Lab
Finding What Has Energy - Creative Direction Lab
**AI-Supported Creative Exploration** *For Unassuming Intuitives & Practicing Creatives* (Please note that this event has not been organized or endorsed by The Writer's Center.) This meetup is part of AI as Creative Partner — A Practice Group, a set of open, non-sequential creative labs you can join at any point. We use AI as a thinking partner—not to replace your ideas, but to help surface and shape them without overthinking or pressure. You bring fragments—ideas, impulses, unfinished concepts. With AI as a supportive collaborator, we explore how those fragments can become clearer, more coherent, and ready to share if and when you want to. No technical background is required. If you can talk or type, that's enough to work with AI here. This session is intentionally low-commitment and flexible: * Arrive late or leave early * Work quietly or observe * Ask questions, or simply watch the process unfold There's no presentation and no expectation to finish anything. Showing up as you are is enough. **FINDING WHAT HAS ENERGY - CREATIVE DIRECTION LAB** Many people don't struggle with ideas—they struggle with direction. This open lab is loosely oriented around noticing which ideas have energy and which ones don't, using AI as a reflective partner. There's no expectation to finish anything. This session is about sensing, testing, and trusting what responds. **HOW TO FIND US** Look for the room with the door open on the lower level. Look for the guy with the screen projector and ambient light and sound. Feel free to just walk in and settle. **(*This is an independent meetup using rental space at The Writer's Center. The Writer's Center has not organized or endorsed this event.*)**
