Contact improvisation dance fundamentals
**Level:** All levels, open to beginners
Contact Improvisation (CI) is an open, welcoming movement practice where we come together to explore how our bodies communicate through touch, shared weight, and physical awareness. It began in the United States in 1972, developed by dancer and choreographer Steve Paxton, and draws inspiration from modern dance, aikido, and somatic practices.
At its core, CI is about listening â to gravity, momentum, and each other. We follow what happens in real time: leaning, lifting, rolling, falling, and finding balance together. Thereâs structure, but no fixed choreography. Itâs playful, physical, and deeply responsive.
You donât need to be a professional dancer to take part. CI welcomes experienced movers and complete beginners alike. If youâre curious, willing to stay present, and open to exploration, youâre in the right place.
Programme:
**Workshop 1:** Exploring contact (by Patryk KĆos)
How to communicate & listen through touch? We will explore the physical contact as a communication tool and through simple tasks develop an understanding of its possibilities and limitations.
**Workshop 2:** Threeâs company: you, me, and the music (by Agnieszka Pietruczuk)
In this workshop, we treat music as a third dance partner that supports, inspires, and gently challenges our movement. Weâll explore easy, playful ways to listen to music together and let it enrich both the dance and the connection with our partner. The focus is on curiosity and enjoyment, using music to spark more creative, alive, and connected dances.
**BIG Jam (60 min)**

Sci-Fi Leuven: discussing Mickey 17 (movie) & teletransportation (Parfit)
Welcome to the IHL's Sci-fi book and movie club. We focus on a particular book/movie at each meeting, but of course the conversation isn't only limited to that particular book/film.
* Feb 28: discussion of Mickey 17 (movie) and of chapter 10 on the teletransportation problem in Derek Parfit's Reasons and Persons (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teletransportation_paradox).
The discussions will take place in English. A good way to join the discussions is to give your own personal responses, explain why you think or feel that way, and offer some examples from the book or movie. Concrete questions about the plot or characters are also great to get a conversation started.
Registration is required so we know how many people to expect.
If you sign up and can no longer come, PLEASE let us know in advance. This is a volunteer initiative and it is important to respect their time put into organization and preparation.
Hope to see you soon at Sci-fi Leuven!
Fast Friending: Make new friends! (21-40/Bring a Lady FREE)
Let's make new friends this New Year! Join us for our Fast-Friending Evening â the easiest, most enjoyable way to meet like-minded ladies and gents without the pressure, awkwardness, or small talk that leads nowhere!
**You will need to buy a ticket for attending -**
[https://brussels28.eventbrite.co.uk](https://brussels28.eventbrite.co.uk)
\*You can use any debit or credit card to purchase your ticket at PayPal checkout. It will ask you for your email address but that is only to send you a receipt. You do not need a PayPal account.
TICKETS:-
Early Bird - âŹ5 per person
Regular Ticket - âŹ10 per person
Cash at Meetup - If you do not purchase tickets in advance then you can pay âŹ15 cash to your host Tanya when you meet her at the event.
In one lively evening, youâll meet lots of like-minded ladies & gents through quick, meaningful chats designed to spark laughter, warmth, and new friendships.
\- We will meet at 7\.00 pm when you will be welcomed by your host Tanya\. She will manage the evening and also help you make connections\.
If you are a bit shy or anxious then please come early. Tanya will help you meet other members in a small group and help you settle down and get comfortable. All attendees are also welcome to bring a lady friend along with them for free. This will make it a lot less stressful for you as you will always have your friend alongside.
\- From 7\.30 to 8\.30 pm\, we will start 'Fast Friending' where our host will ask you to speak to a different attendee every 3 minutes\. You will be able to meet lots of ladies and gentlemen and not be limited to only those sitting or standing next you\.
\- After 8\.30 pm you will have time to interact with those you have met as well as others\.
\- We are not a close knit tight group\. Our evenings are warm and comfortable for members attending for the first time and those coming alone\. You will not feel alone\!
\- We have many groups in this city\. Members of our other groups who RSVP are included as guests of the organisers in order to give you an indication of expected people\.
\- This evening is for ladies and gents in the 21 to 45 age group\. While some will be at the younger end of this range there will also be others at the other end of the range and lots in\-between\! You will naturally gel with others of your own age range and so you will always find many attendees who fit your range\.
\- We are not a 'dating' group\. We are focused on helping ladies and gents meet other like minded ladies and gents\. You will generally find a good gender balance \(maybe not perfect\) at all our events\.
Why do we have tickets?
1. Cover our costs - Our host is compensated for their time and work. We also pay meetup and have dedicated staff to manage our events, hosts, venues and communication.
2. Group Safety - By securing your ticket we have a record and you contribute to a well organized evening where everyone is more committed and better behaved.
3. Management - Tickets help us better manage attendee group size, book suitable space and activity.

Omshana Gathering: Seeds of Connection
**About Event**
âAs winter begins to lift, a new energy is stirring. On **March 1st**, we gather at the Shanti DĂŽme to honor this transitionâmoving from the quiet of the inner world back toward the warmth of human connection.
âThis gathering is a living room for the soul. Weâve designed a flow that moves in waves, guiding us from our inner world into the heart of the community:
* â**The Ritual of Opening:** We begin by grounding ourselves in the beauty of the DĂŽme. With a cup of ceremonial cacao as our companion, weâll quiet the outside noise and listen to what is ready to grow within us this season.
* â**The Shared Resonance:** From silence, we move into a collective vibration. Guided by our **Architect of Sound**, we will weave a living chorus together. You will receive your own unique thread of soundâa personalized "sonic instruction"âthat contributes to a larger, powerful harmony.
* â**The Art of Being Seen:** This is our core practice for the afternoonâa fluid dance between presence and curiosity. Within the room, you will navigate a landscape of **Anchors** and **Travelers**. It is an intuitive journey of following your attraction, crossing paths with others, and discovering the stories waiting beneath the surface.
* â**The Time to Shine:** Finally, the structure dissolves completely. The floor is yours to mingle, follow up on a spark of conversation, or simply enjoy the company of a community that values authenticity over small talk.
âCome as you are. Bring your curiosity. Letâs see what grows.

Deep Conversation-- Question Chosen in Session
Welcome to our weekly event in the upstairs room of The Sister Café, rue Chair et Pain 3, one block from the Grand Place. Please get there early enough to order your drink at the bar first. Thank you!
After introductions we will collect questions from the group participants, choose one by voting then discuss it for an hour. Then most of us stay for drinks and bizarre conversations.
Past questions have been wide and not confined to academic philosophy:
What is a genuine friend?
Is social media turning us into emotional zombies?
Do we lose some of the experience of things by defining them?
Are we driven by sex?
Is loneliness a personal failure?
Is morality relative?
**Crucially, be kind and respectful and generous** in your disagreements; remember how much you personally enjoy someone else proving you wrong before celebrating your cutting counterexamples.

Une balade tranquille. Pas de pression : tu peux parler, rester silencieux·se ou juste profiter de la marche.

Data & Analytics Wednesday - Google Analytics Alternatives
**Google Analytics Alternatives**
Is it finally time to make the switch away from Google Analytics? Two-and-a-half years ago Jason Packer asked this question at Columbus Web Analytics Wednesday.
Since then: Googleâs Universal Analytics has been sunset, weâve changed our name to Columbus Data & Analytics Wednesday, and Jason has released two editions of his book âGoogle Analytics Alternativesâ.
Fresh off the release of the 2nd edition of his book, we thought it was time to re-open this conversation. While people love to complain about it, GAâs market share has remained relatively constant (at least in the United States). Why is that? You wonât find any complaints about GA4 in this talk, but rather an overview of whatâs currently available in the market and how to frame your decision-making process.
Weâll also be giving out some free copies of Jasonâs book! So even if youâve got a âGA4Lyfeâ tattoo (no judgement), thereâs free books to go with the free pizza and beer.

**TALK ABSTRACT:**
AI is all the hype these days; however, despite (or maybe because of) the excitement around it, a high percentage of AI projects fail. Projects that are over budget, delayed, or that fail to scale past the POC phase are very common. In many of these scenarios, choosing the right approach can be as critical as the solution itself. Should you build a tailored machine learning model, leverage the power of large language models (LLMs), or integrate with AI copilots? Each option has unique strengths, trade-offs, and resource requirements, and the key to success lies in aligning your choice with your business goals and technical constraints.
In this talk, we will go beyond the basic concepts and definitions to provide a practical guide that allows attendees to navigate these decisions through real-world case studies. We will examine scenarios in which different AI paradigms were chosen, discuss the factors that influenced those decisions, and outline the process for evaluating needs, constraints, and outcomes. From assessing data availability and team expertise to balancing cost and scalability, you'll gain insights into the critical considerations that guide the selection process.
By the end of this session, youâll have a clear process for determining whether machine learning, LLMs, or copilots are best suited to your AI challenges and understand the resources and strategies needed to bring your chosen solution to life. This talk is ideal for decision-makers, technical leads, and innovators seeking to demystify AI implementation and maximize the impact of their investments.
Building Agents with Microsoft Foundry
