Nos encontramos en el CCCB para asistir a la última sesión del año de *Poetry Slam Barcelona*: un torneo local de poesía escenificada que, en conjunto, toma la forma de una “performance colectiva” en la que la palabra es el elemento esencial. El *Poetry Slam* es 50% poesía y 50% interpretación, una competición con un formato participativo en el que se establece una relación dinámica entre el público y los poetas... algo esto sin embargo que, aunque pueda parecer novedoso, remite, en realidad, a los certámenes de poesía que se hacían en la antigua Grecia. Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing.
