Tally Ho Toastmasters meets regularly on the 1st and 3rd Monday each month. Our friendly club offers great opportunities to improve communication and leadership skills while providing excellent evaluations by the members. VAST, the Virginia Advanced Speakers Toastmasters club, is "where good speakers go to get better." It's the club where you can try out new material for presentations at work, practice for contests, or try something new to take your speaking to the next level. Ideal for **all skill levels**, this camp offers an opportunity to receive skill instruction from George Washington's coaching staff. Defense & Setting Skills Camp is designed to develop well-rounded back-row defenders and setters by blending high-level defensive training with position-specific setting work. This session allows defenders to sharpen their floor skills while providing setters with focused, individualized technical training. **What to Expect:** Players will work on defensive techniques including platform control, reading hitters, movement patterns, & ball tracking in fast-paced, game-like drills. Back-row defenders will also learn how to set out-of-system to expand their skill set & decision-making. Setters will receive high-level 1v1 technical training while also spending time working on their own defense & blocking, helping them become more complete, well-rounded players on the court. No sign\-ups required \| All levels welcome \| 21\+ If you're looking for a casual game of chess in a fun atmosphere, this event is for you! Members range from beginner to master level, and games are played both with and without time controls. There are dozens of players each week, with only a fraction of the participants registering on meetup. This event is held at a bar, the Board Room, in Washington, DC, and is intended for 21+ players. We meet upstairs, on the mezzanine. Upon arrival, fill out a name tag and indicate your relative skill, to facilitate match-ups. Chess sets and boards are provided. We don't have club clocks, but most people use the Chess Clock app from Chess.com to play timed games.

Phrases like *“You’re overreacting,” “That’s not what happened,”* or *“You’re too sensitive”* may seem small — yet they can quietly erode trust and connection. In the long term, this behavior can cause relationships to fall apart. In this Authentic Relating workshop, we’ll explore how unintentional gaslighting shows up in everyday communication — and more importantly, what to say instead. Through embodied exercises, real-time relational games, and guided practice, you’ll learn how to: * Recognize subtle invalidation patterns * Stay regulated when someone’s emotions feel intense * Respond with empathy without abandoning your own truth * Repair when harm has already happened This is a space for growth, not blame — for learning how to create connection instead of confusion. He is passionate about creating spaces where people can slow down, connect deeply, and experience meaningful connection.
