Through a unified API, AI applications gain access to locally operated models (e.g., Mistral) or optionally to public cloud providers – depending on requirements, costs, and data protection needs of the workload. Discuss the architectural and product decisions: vLLM as a GPU-optimized inference engine, a central AI gateway that enforces multi-tenancy, security, and comprehensive observability. A brief live demo will show how applications and developers access AI models through a single API – with token-based quotas per tenant and intelligent routing. An experience report from an exciting AI infrastructure project in Austria. * **Break: 6:30 to 6:45 p.m.** * ***Talk 2: 6:45 to 7:30 p.m.*** * **Speaker**: Damjan Gjurovski * **Title**: What is A(I) platform? * **Abstract:** In this talk I will discuss the need of platforms in the age of AI. I will outline some hard-won lessons from my previous experience in developer platforms, data platforms and SRE teams, and discuss how these apply to AI platforms. On the one hand, I will make the argument that AI makes certain aspects of platforms and platform engineering unnecessary, but on the other hand reinforces the need for other platform components. Drei Kulturen, ein Abend voller Lacher. Was ist Comedy CUZENGZ? **Comedy CUZENGZ** ist Stand-up Comedy aus Wien – roh, ehrlich und ohne Filter. Wir sind drei Jungs aus Wien mit komplett unterschiedlichen Backgrounds: ein **Somalier**, ein **Türke** und ein **Jugo**. Genau die Diversität, die sich jedes Englischbuch wünschen würde. Wir haben jedoch schnell gemerkt, dass unser Humor nicht überall reinpasst. Oft haben wir gar keine Bühne bekommen – und wenn doch, standen wir plötzlich vor Publikum, das unsere Referenzen gar nicht verstanden hat. Also haben wir uns gedacht: **Scheiß drauf. Wir bauen unsere eigene Bühne.** So ist **Comedy CUZENGZ** entstanden. Unser erstes Event war sofort **komplett ausverkauft**. Die Energie im Raum war krank und das Feedback von euch war so stark, dass wir direkt wussten: Hier entsteht gerade etwas Echtes. Keine steife Theaterstimmung. Keine Filter. Einfach **echte Stand-up Comedy**. Was euch erwartet Bei dieser Show stehen wieder die **CUZENGZ** auf der Bühne: **Kowsi** Unser charmantester Türke – schnell, frech und immer bereit, euch zu überraschen. **Mo** Somalias Antwort auf Dave Chappelle. Direkt, ehrlich und mit Punchlines, die sitzen. **Patrik** Stabiler Jugo und diesmal **Host des Abends**. Er führt euch durch die Show und sorgt dafür, dass der Abend eskaliert. **First meetup of the Columbus AI Engineering group.** We’ll kick things off with a practical, beginner-friendly discussion on: **How LLMs like ChatGPT actually work — and how to build real applications with them.** We’ll cover: * what’s actually happening under the hood (at a high level) * why LLMs behave the way they do (hallucinations, prompt sensitivity, etc.) * how people are building real systems with them today * where things break in practice This will be a **short, informal talk (\~15–20 min)** followed by open discussion and Q&A. **Complex Trauma Support Group** Our group is intended for survivors of complex trauma. If you are here, it’s likely that so much of who you are and what you have experienced in this life is actually invisible to most people––to family, society, coworkers, and the people who are around you. We are a peer-led group of survivors creating opportunities for ourselves and others to share our experiences, share support, and build relationships in kind community together. Survivor experiences might include: child sexual abuse, incest, child trafficking, and other experiences of people living with traumatic dissociation and complex PTSD. **What to expect at your first meeting:** Currently, we are offering a bi-monthly in person group at 2:00pm on the first and third Sunday of the month. The only criterion for joining the group is that you are a survivor of trauma wishing to have more kindness in your own life and share kindness with others, and that you agree to practice to group’s relational agreements available for view here: https://www.kindgroups.com/agreements. Joining the group is free of charge. We ask that new people connect with us for 30 minutes on the phone or on zoom before coming to their first group, so that we can determine together that we are a good fit. Our meetings last approximately 90 minutes. Participants are never required to share. You’re also welcome to choose a pseudonym and you will never be asked for private information. You are welcome to leave at any time. The kindness that survivors can share when among others who have survived similar childhood experiences is something we rarely get to experience. Time spent with others who understand even a little bit more about us is a relief. Our hope is to help ourselves and others experience that we are not alone.
