Mob Programming at Mofer Coffee
Mob Programming at Mofer Coffee
Let’s do some coding together at a cafe! No more working alone in the weekend. Here, we write code together. And I mean together together. Not occupying-the-same-space-but-separate together. Here’s how it works: Jennifer brings her mobile app project, tells everyone that it is like Pinterest for recipes and she’d like to work on the nav bar. Paul and Chloe think Jennifer's project is fascinating, and they join the group. They gather around Jennifer’s laptop and work on the nav bar for 2 hours. Jennifer is the one typing out the code while Paul and Chloe research, brainstorm, and offer suggestions. If you’re feeling stuck on your own project or need a motivation boost, bring it to mob programming! Want to learn by watching how others code and solve problems? Join someone else’s project at this event! Oh and we love your half-done projects that you are a bit embarrassed to share. Absolutely bring those to the event! **Discord**: We use Discord to share screen & code snippets during the event. Also feel free to share your projects here before the event! https://discord.gg/yvAGbh4PpD **Event policy**: * We have 0 tolerance for harassment. * We don’t allow the projects that are not meant to be shared in public such as school assignments, interview tasks, or trade secrets. * The goal is to write code. We discourage you from pitching business ideas here, doing code reviews, or spending the whole event on planning what to do. * Please buy a drink, and tip the barista well.

Introduction to Practical Philosophy
Introduction to Practical Philosophy
**You know there’s more to life than this.** More than the noise. More than the striving. More than the constant doing. If you’ve ever felt that quiet inner pull toward something deeper, this afternoon is for you. Join us for an Open House at the **School of Practical Philosophy in Toronto** — a not-for-profit community where philosophy is not studied as theory, but lived in everyday life. This is not a lecture. It’s a conversation. A space for reflection, inquiry, and genuine connection with others who are also seeking truth. All of our courses are offered by long-time students of the School who volunteer their time — not because they are paid, but because they have experienced the value of this work and wish to share it. What to expect: * A welcoming, no-pressure environment * An introduction to practical philosophy (East + West, applied to daily life) * A simple mindfulness exercise you can take home immediately * Thought-provoking discussion with like-minded people You are invited to attend with **no obligation**. Stay for the first class, experience it for yourself, and decide if it resonates. Come as you are — curious, questioning, or simply open. Register to secure your spot: **[OPEN HOUSE](https://schoolofpracticalphilosophy.asapconnected.com/?org=1361#CourseGroupID=44887)**
Urban Canvas Walk and drinks later!
Urban Canvas Walk and drinks later!
Join us for a relaxed and colourful walk along Toronto’s famous Graffiti Street, where art quite literally lives on the walls. This stretch of vibrant laneways has evolved into one of the city’s most photographed spots, showcasing artworks created by talented local and international artists. The area is often associated with Graffiti Alley, about a kilometre stretch near Queen Street West that has become an iconic destination for street art lovers. What makes this space unique is that much of the artwork here is legal. Artists typically receive permission from building owners, transforming what was once seen as graffiti into respected urban murals. Whether you love photography, art, or simply exploring hidden gems in the city, this is a perfect way to spend time outdoors and experience a different side of Toronto. We’ll stroll, pause to admire the murals, and enjoy the colourful atmosphere together and then head to a bar to argue which one was the coolest!

Connection Labs Online (aka Crossroads & Connections)
Connection Labs Online (aka Crossroads & Connections)
### Each Crossroads & Connections workshop is a fast, friendly mash-up: short demos, paired practices and intentional reflection. We keep it light, embodied, and social—so wisdom lands in your muscles and your circle, not only your mind. There isn’t one technique that fixes everything, for everyone, in every situation. ### What is it? We pair complementary domains to spark shared flow, fresh insight, and unforgettable “aha!” moments. You leave with lived skills, not just notes. * **Dialogue** gets you out of solo spin: small-group formats expose blind spots and sharpen “shared reality,” so your next move matches *this* person and *this* moment. * **Imaginal** practice is guided “as if” rehearsal you look *through*, not *at*: walking the beats before the scene means your body recognizes turns when stakes rise. * **Mindfulness** steadies the camera: attention stops jerking around, drama gets de-amplified, and you can catch the instant you’re narrating motives and swap in one honest question. * **Embodiment** makes it actionable through direct, non-verbal experience and how your inner experience matches your outer expression. Facilitators: Varies Fee: $30USD - Or a 10-pack for $200USD [Please visit here](https://awakentomeaning.com/crossroads-and-connections/) for registration and more information.
