Drawing Cafe [#27] Coffee & Sketching in Berlin
We meet and sketch each other in Berlin. This is just an art gym that we also exercise our social skills. Afterwards usually we go for lunch as a group.
**How Does It Work?**
This event is simple, we meet and sketch each other doing portraits. Most of the participants use pencils or watercolors. Main aim is to socialize while we draw. There will be plenty of time to talk and get to know each other. We have to mention that this event is suitable for all levels. Many have started to draw in our event actually.
**Structure**
A. Warmup Phase: We pose to each other for 1 minute.
B. Main Phase: We pose to each other for 10 minutes.
C. Showcase Phase: We show some of the drawings we did to each other.
**Who We Are**
Creative Sessions is an art events group located in Berlin.
**Is it Free?**
The event is free of charge.
I๏ปฟt is advisable to get a drink though. This is a cafe, we need to have at least half of the people on each table with a drink. They accept only cash and most hot drinks cost from 2.50 to 3.50.
**How to help or donate?**
The event is provided for free but many people help this be a regular thing. We also need people to volunteer and help for minor tasks like the serving of the drinks or cleaning up. Just send us a message.
If you want to donate and keep this event from happening, via Paypal to the host (Miltos) :

**Art Materials?**
Bring your own art materials.

Chitta Walks - Awareness in Motion
Chitta Walks is for people whose days move fast, while the mind never fully lands. Thoughts keep looping even when nothing is urgent. The body moves, but attention is elsewhere. Over time, this disconnect drains clarity and ease.
This walk is a simple reset.
We meet in Berlinโs Tiergarten and walk at a gentle pace. Parts of the walk are in silence, with light guidance and a few short prompts. The walk itself is the practice, bringing body and mind back into the same moment.
No apps. No performance. Just a clear space to slow down and notice what is happening.
If you want to slow down without withdrawing from life, join a Chitta Walk.
โจ **What to expect (approx. 90 minutes):**
* A short arrival and orientation
* A guided silent walk (phones off, no conversation)
* One concise science-based impulse on attention or stress
* Optional reflection in pairs or small groups
* A simple takeaway or experiment for daily life
๐ถ**Who this is for:**
* Professionals, creatives, and people in transition.
* People who feel mentally busy and want more clarity and balance.
* Those curious about mindfulness, but grounded and practical.
* Anyone comfortable with silence and gentle self observation.
๐ **Practical notes:**
* Duration: 60-90 minutes
* Wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing
* No prior experience needed
* Group size is limited to keep the space quiet and focused
๐งญ **Facilitator:**
My name is Partha Sarathi, you can call me PS. I have lived in Berlin for over 12 years. With a background in physics and materials science, my interest in mindfulness grew through personal experience with stress and health challenges. I facilitate the space and structure of the walk, inviting shared exploration rather than instruction.
๐ค **Why Chitta Walks?**
Chitta is a Sanskrit word referring to the mind or field of awareness, used here in a practical, non-religious sense.
Chitta Walks is about noticing how the mind works by slowing down and walking together. Mindful walking makes thought patterns visible in real time, while moving and sensing in the world.
The name points to a simple capacity: noticing what is happening in the mind without immediately trying to fix, judge, or optimize it.
๐ฟ **Possible effects:**
A calmer nervous system.
Clearer attention.
A felt sense of being more present in your body.
Subtle insights into how your mind reacts under everyday conditions.
A quieter, more grounded way of moving through the city.
**Come as you are. Walk. Notice. Leave with a little more space inside.**

Portrait Drawing on Sunday Afternoon
This group is for everyone who is interested in drawing portraits!
For me, drawing has been a wonderful way to gain a new perspective on the world and the people within it.
Whether you are just starting out or have been drawing for ages โ all levels are welcome :)
How it works:
1\. We meet at The Castle pub in Mitte and do short sittings of 15 minutes for each other\. The first sitting is divided into 3 warm\-up sketches\, 5 minutes each\.
2\. Before we start\, everybody writes their name on a blank card \(provided by the organizer\); these cards are then used to randomly pick the model every 15 minutes\.
3\. Usually we do 8 sittings\, with a 15\-minute break in the middle \(so after 4 sittings\, or 1 hour\)\.
-> The participation is free, but it is expected that everybody orders something from the bar to support the lovely location.
Get out your pencils and let's start!
Please bring your own art supplies!

\- 11:00\-11:30 \- Meet & greet
\- 11:30\-12:30 \- Silent focus time
\- 12:30 \- Discussion of books/ projects over coffee
Afterwards, join for lunch if you'd like (optional).
**Drinks & snacks are included** โ๏ธ
* **To reserve your place, a ticket (โฌ9,90/event) or a community pass (only โฌ17,90/MONTH) [from the website ](https://pausify.org/)*www.pausify.org* is required**
* **Attendance here doesnโt show all sign-ups from other platforms. We usually have about 50 to 100 people at each event.**
***FAQ: Why does it cost money if I bring my own project?***
Because we rent a beautiful, central space for every event. Ever thought your monthly apartment rent was too high? Well, multiply that โ thatโs what commercial spaces in big cities like Berlin cost *per hour*.
Of course, if all you want is just some quiet time, your home or a library is perfect. But if youโd like to focus & connect with others in an inspiring space โ with drinks, snacks included โ thatโs what your ticket helps to cover.

Monthly Book Club Meeting - July
Dear Book Enthusiasts,
For our July gathering, weโll be reading ***Posthumous Memoirs of Brรกs Cubas*** by the Brazilian writer **Machado de Assis**.
Originally published in 1881, this witty and remarkably modern novel is narrated by Brรกs Cubas himself โ from beyond the grave. Through irony, sharp social observation, and playful philosophical reflections, Machado de Assis creates a narrator who looks back on his life, ambitions, failures, and the society around him with both humor and melancholy. Considered one of the great classics of Brazilian literature, the novel feels surprisingly contemporary in its style and spirit.

I truly hope youโll join me in giving Tereza a very warm welcome and your support.
Iโm very much looking forward to hearing all about your discussion and to gathering together again soon.

ServiceNow AI Deep Dive: Hands-On Learning Session
We're planning a hands-on technical session focused on building AI solutions in ServiceNow - think skills, agents, and real-world use cases. If youโre curious about AI on the platform, RSVP now and stay tuned for more details. Let's build together!
Stop Guessing: How to Measure and Improve LLM Outputs
Most people use LLMs by feel: ask a question, read the answer, decide whether it โseems good,โ and move on.
That works for casual use. It does not work when you are building software, automating workflows, writing important documents, or relying on AI for anything that needs to be repeatable.
In this talk, weโll look at how to improve and evaluate the inputs and outputs of LLMs using practical measurement techniques. Weโll cover how prompt changes affect results, how to compare outputs, how to build simple evaluation sets, and how math-based methods like similarity scoring can help you move beyond guesswork.
This will be beginner-friendly, so even if you don't know anything about AI, you should get something out of it. However, this will be a little more technical than our intro talks. You do not need to be an AI researcher, but programmers and technically curious attendees will get a lot out of it.
Weโll cover:
* Why โit looks goodโ is not enough
* How to improve prompts by changing the input, context, and constraints
* How to compare LLM outputs more systematically
* Basic evaluation techniques for accuracy, consistency, and usefulness
* How embeddings, cosine similarity, and scoring can help evaluate results
* Where automated evaluation works โ and where humans still need to stay in the loop
By the end, youโll have a practical mental model for treating LLMs less like magic and more like systems you can test, measure, and improve.
LOGISTICS AND PARKING:
The talk starts at 7:00 PM. The first half hour is reserved for everyone to get set up and mingle. Free pizza and drinks!
The cheapest parking option is to find street parking, which will only cost you a few bucks. Otherwise, park in the nearby veteran's museum lot for $8. It's highly recommended you avoid the nearby $15 garage parking.
