Meditation and Connection Circle
Meditation and Connection Circle
Join us for our next circle! **Please reserve your spot via Luma!** https://luma.com/07wcuoir \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- An evening to slow down, **meditate, and have thoughtful conversations with new people** and make genuine connections. **No meditation experience needed — just curiosity!** **What to expect** This isn’t a meditation class. It is a space where mindfulness and community meet. Each Circle has three simple parts: **Meditation — Conversation — Connection** • **Meditation:** a short (around 20 min) meditation, where I give minimal guidance and we sit in silence together • **Conversations**: afterwards we create a safe space for conversations that go beyond small talk. We explore how mindfulness can impact different areas of our lives, with a new topic in each circle. You may share or just observe and gain new insights, both are welcome! • **Community:** in the end there will be plenty of time to connect with others in a non-structured format around tea and snacks. Something I've been missing when doing meditation classes elsewhere. To connect with like-minded people! \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- **Costs:** To keep these circles sustainable and cover the rental cost, a contribution of **€15** is suggested. If your current circumstances make this a challenge, **€10** is also perfectly fine—no questions asked. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- **Background:** Hi, I’m Katja. I’ve been meditating for over a decade. Why the practice brought tremendous benefits into my life and made me a genuinely happier person, I always felt something was missing: **a non-religious community around it.** A space for people who meditate, or are curious about it, but also crave deep, authentic connections with others. Where we can meditate together and talk about the benefits and challenges that come with the practice. To **turn** **it from a solitary practice into a shared experience.** Come join me, if that resonates with you! \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- *For more info, please see www.kinspace.at* **FAQs** * Can I come alone? Absolutely. The purpose of the circle is to make it easy to meet others in a natural and relaxed way. * In what language will the circle be held? The main session will be held in English to keep it inclusive for everyone. During breakout conversations, you’re welcome to speak German or any other language if others in the group share it. * Is this similar to authentic relating? The circle has a simple and accessible structure focused on meditation and meaningful conversation. While it’s not an authentic relating event per se, some people may notice similarities in the way it creates space for presence, openness, and genuine connection. * Do I need meditation experience? Not at all. Beginners are very welcome. I’ll provide simple guidance to help you settle in. * Do I have to speak during the circle? No. Sharing is always optional. You’re welcome to simply listen and observe. We do ask that what is shared in the circle stays in the circle, creating a space of trust. * What should I bring? Just come as you are. Comfortable everyday clothes are perfect. To respect the shared silence, I'd ask that phones are turned off and put away during the circle. * What if I’m running late? To preserve the atmosphere of the circle, we'll start on time. Please try to arrive 5–10 minutes early.
Sunday Screenings in the Living Room
Sunday Screenings in the Living Room
Weekly screenings from a large archive of many of the most significant, yet seldom seen and rarely accessible cinematic masterpieces in the history of film - from its earliest beginnings to the present day. Screenings are in original language, if English, or original language with English subtitles. Films are selected democratically on the inspiration of a brief pre-screening discussion. The selected title is typically a "neglected gem" that most of us discover together for the first time. Individual taste is not a criterion and all participants are expected to put the interests of the group as a whole above personal preference or prejudice. In this sense, the emphasis is on openness, exploration, and surprise. Each screening is followed by an in-depth group discussion, led and moderated by the curator. WARNNG: FilmStory is not just about watching movies! Rather, it's a socially responsible, intellectual engagement, involving an organic approach to group study of film language, philosophy, art, history, politics, and technology. In this sense, the film is always merely the current highlight in an explorative, ongoing group discussion. **FilmStory** is a members-only series that involves a closely knit community of cinephiles. Events take place every Sunday in a comfortable, private setting with limited capacity. Participation is reserved primarily for regular members, but we're always ready to make new friends! Non-regular members may request to meet the community and, upon acceptance as a "new joiner," are welcome to participate in one event, according to space availability. New joiners are asked to make a €6 member dues contribution in advance of the requested date. New members receive a message of confirmation and the address of the Living Room in 1080 Vienna upon receipt of their dues contribution. **FilmStory** is presented and hosted by **[KulturSalon Wien](https://www.meetup.com/kultursalon-wien/)**.

The Weight of Things by Marianne Fritz
The Weight of Things by Marianne Fritz
*The Weight of Things* is the first book, and the first translated book, and possibly the only translatable book by Austrian writer Marianne Fritz (1948–2007). For after winning acclaim with this novel—awarded the Robert Walser Prize in 1978—she embarked on a 10,000-page literary project called “The Fortress,” creating over her lifetime elaborate colorful diagrams and typescripts so complicated that her publisher had to print them straight from her original documents. A project as brilliant as it is ambitious and as bizarre as it is brilliant, it earned her cult status, comparisons to James Joyce no less than Henry Darger, and admirers including Elfriede Jelinek and W. G. Sebald. Yet in this, her first novel, we discover not an eccentric fluke of literary nature but rather a brilliant and masterful satirist, philosophically minded yet raging with anger and wit, who under the guise of a domestic horror story manages to expose the hypocrisy and deep abiding cruelties running parallel, over time, through the society and the individual minds of a century. source: goodreads

Open Dialogue – Discovering Together in Vienna
Open Dialogue – Discovering Together in Vienna
We will meet in a calm and friendly place ( Parc, Café, Restaurant) to explore together some of Jiddu Krishnamurti’s key questions about awareness, relationship, and freedom. There will be no teaching, no authority — only open dialogue and attentive listening. Everyone is welcome, whether you are familiar with Jiddu Krishnamurti or simply curious about life and self-understanding. We’ll start with an open conversation around a theme such as “Listening without judgment” or “Can thought bring clarity?” Please bring openness, curiosity, and a readiness to listen — no books or notes needed. The spirit is not to discuss “what should be,” but to observe together “what is.”

Sunday TaiJi-QiGong at Volksgarten
Sunday TaiJi-QiGong at Volksgarten
Join the TaiJi-QiGong weekly practise! It is open for all levels and beginner friendly. :) If you want to join please sign in/out as the class will only take place if enugh people join (min. 3, but there is additional another whattsapp group with more people joining) The price is 13€/ unit. A few more words about this practise: it consists of bodywork - specific exercises designed to release tension and stress in your body. It also includes joint opening and the actual QiGong practise. This QiGong you could call Yin-Jang QiGong, as it prepares you for TaiJi (Wu style). This means it is designed to create balance in your body and movement, restructuring old unhealthy movement patterns and aligning your body. Also central part of this practise (the most powerful one) is that it leads to inner silence, connecting you with your body and silencing your mind. In this silence many virtues as patience, respect, perseverence, discipline... arise/ are transmitted. It is especially beneficial to strngthen your ability to focus and for stress relief. If you have any questions, want to join the whattsappgroup or want more informations feel free to text me or write an email: simone_tomasi@yahoo.com The event will take place also with rainy weather!
